On arrival, I simply requested if it was possible to have a hair cut now (mind you it was past 5pm and they were closing in 2hours and fully packed)..the receptionist made a few phone calls and waahlaa..I had my stylist!! =] The chairs you sit in whilst have your hair washed were massaging chairs!! How cool is that and they elevate your legs at the same time =] not to mention the flat screen TV above your head for added pleasure. The stylist was fun, talkative, a GOOD listener (unlike most mindless hair cutters), she advised me on certain styles and worked with my ideas. She worked at a good speed and the end result was FAB!! I think I have found my hairdresser..yayy... (this is a rare event, especially since I have a hair fetish as most of my friends already know =P )

The girl washing my hair was a little rough though and made me wince up a little bit as she pushed down on my scalp. I have quite sensitive skin so this was a bit uncomfortable and not really all that relaxing. But I hate to be rude so I said nothing. Other than that, a pleasant experience :)

I was already apprehensive about returning as my hair had thinned out from a scalp tint about a decade ago but I thought that as it was just a reasonably priced cut I was after, I believed there might also be a turnover of staff. Anyway, I later returned and the Manageress remembered me but I was not prepared for the shocking rudeness I received not just from her but her colleague as well. I had never blamed the Salon for my hair thinning out at the time but this Manageress remembered me and completely alienated me and made out that she was unable to please me and made me feel very uncomfortable. She could not wait to get away from me and left me standing in the middle of the Salon, telling me she had a paying customer to get back to. She made no sense and may be she realises what had happened with my hair. Either way, I was even more appalled at the response I got from her colleague when I said that my Mother was dying of a rare Cancer at the time and it was stressful time anyway. I went over to the woman who had initially agreed to do my hair to say I was unhappy and as I was leaving, the Manageress threatened to call the Police for no reason, just to save face. I have been to a lot of Hair Salons in Eastbourne and have had very positive experiences but I was left stunned. I may take this complaint even further. I was actually embarrassed for the Manageress and her Colleague as they were busy with clients and if I had been a client, I would have been appalled. They should be pleased I ever returned.

Appointments are usually necessary as they are very popular and are often fully booked acouple of days in advance. Quite pricey compared to other salons but well worth it for a fantastic cut, colour and finish. I don't think the staff have had much training; both my daughter and I have had our hair cut here and I had mine coloured. We left with styles that can only be described as MULLETS and I had a ring of colour around my face, which the 'colourist' had lazily allowed to stain my skin whilst attempting to colour my hair. When I asked her to clean it, she said it would come off in the shower over the next few washes! Err... £40 (or thereabouts) should warrant some cotton wool and cleanser. But it was the lack of technique of the so-called "stylist" that makes me want to warn all of you to think twice before going to EB UK. I have just moved back to Eastbourne and this is the nearest salon to my house, so having read the…read moreprevious reviews i was somewhat hesitant when i popped round at 2pm today to ask if they could fit me in that very afternoon. I am a MALE local entertainer and i needed smartening up urgently. The receptionist was very polite and told me that if i could attend at 3pm that afternoon a Senior Stylist would indeed be able to offer me a wash and cut for £22..Now that may seem a lot more than a lot of places charge for a gent's haircut but you would expect a High End service for that money which is what i was expecting. I turned up at 2.45pm and the lovely DANI attended to me. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and DANI not only gave me a great cut but more importantly she was interested in what i was trying to achieve with regard to my hairstyle and she produced it exactly to my specifications. I can only speak as i find and must say the whole experience was a delight. I have had some nightmare experiences over the years but i can honestly say this is the best haircutting experience to date. I will continue to use this salon from now on.
