Jason Murguia with Blue Planet Mortgage was the OBVIOUS choice by far. For reference I was using a VA loan and my credit was in the 640-680 range and I was buying around 500K. The loan estimates from all the other lenders ranged between 3.25%-4.5% with closing costs ranging between 13K-22K. Jason and I closed on a 520K home with zero down VA loan in 21 DAYS at a 2.375!!!!!!!!!!!! And my closing costs were around 11K all together. Throughout the entire process Jason was always hunting for the best deals for me and he was available at all hours for questions or adjusted DU pre approval letters aimed at each specific property. The DU approval letters he provided were very detailed and gave me an edge over the competition. As a first time home buyer I was just amazed at how easy and stress free escrow was working with Jason. Had to switch half way through to another within the same company and even though the second one was better he still dropped the ball on things and didn't even deliver me my keys to my new house - made me go by myself to the house and then had the SELLERS REALTOR DELIVER ME MY KEYS. No gift for my new house. Nothing. The interest rate was higher than I expected and the mortgage payment I was quoted originally was not what ended up being my true payment until after closing. Closing costs were much higher than I was quoted at the beginning and even though I asked for more inspections be done, the realtor didn't schedule them. It was a BAD experience all around. But at the end I had my house and thought it was over. Fast forward 6 months into my mortgage during COVID, I hear from my realtor who is also a broker whose wife (at the same company) tells me that they can refi me to lower my interest rate to 3.375%. I explicitly was told there would be no hard look into my credit and all they needed was my mortgage statement, pay stubs, and W-2. I filled out an application and gave everything they needed. 3-4 days pass and nothing. When I check in, I get told "please confirm your debt to income ratio below" so I tell them that I was told this was not going to be a hard look at my credit which I did not want to do when I was approached. The realtor said he'd talk to his wife who did "confirm" she said she only needed the documents she told me but turns out the lender needed my debt to income ratio. I asked about that at the get go and was told nothing else was needed. They are in the habit of lying, not being professional or reliable for clients and I can't recommend enough that people should avoid them. Please, do not use them for buying a house or for a mortgage. I truly regret using them. TRULY.
