I must admit, it is not something much known about in Switzerland. The doctor at the KSW finds a way to use information wrongly and to use outdated and incomplete knowledge to dismiss this diagnosis. 2nd appointment never happens, no answer to my calls and my emails from secretary, I have to write to info@ksw.ch, finally I get an angry answer from the doctor. No communication, she dismisses the previously established diagnosis and does her own stuff without my agreement. She sends a letter to GP full of mistakes, full of information out of context and dismissing the previously established diagnosis. Of course, my GP will trust this incompetent. Now I am battling to get everything back in order. - although I can document all mistakes and I am per law entitled to corrections, I have been refused all corrections - I have asked for explanations about how this doctor worked and how she found her information about the diagnosis I came with. I am also per law entitled to such information. No answer. - I had previously asked for a change of doctor, as I had a bad feeling about this one. For 2 months, nothing happened. Same thing, per law I have free choice of doctor. - they pretend I already have another doctor, which is absolutely false. They cannot assume such a thing. - without a refutation of the letter that this doctor sent to my GP, I'll have major difficulties getting this first diagnosis being taken seriously. All the answers I get from this hospital are now in bad faith. Just to waste further my time, after already losing 5 months with this doctor.

I want to write this review to inform everyone how absolutely wonderful Universitatsspital Zurich is. This review is only about the intensive care unit. The Universitatsspital Zurich is apparently the best heart hospital in all of Switzerland. My boyfriends mother was rushed here from Winterthur via the Rega (Swiss Air Rescue) helicopter. Rega is a nonprofit organization and it's really wonderful! Their goal is to pick anyone up in Switzerland within 15 minutes. If you pay 40 CHF a year then you don't get charged a lot... I think? Anyway, the doctors in this hospital are hardworking, understanding, sensitive, well informed, caring, and wonderful, and probably a lot more words. My boyfriends mother spent 2 weeks here until she was transferred to the intensive care unit in Schaffhausen (today! yay! she's in Schaffhausen!) and within the two weeks I was able to become somewhat comfortable with the intensive care unit, (well, only a floor) and the people in it. Every day we were able to call the hospital at any time and get a thorough description of what was happening. Every day when we arrived a doctor would meet with us and explain face to face what was happening. They were always very clear, they told us when they didn't know something, and they let us take plenty of time with questions. These doctors could make life changing decisions very quickly. There were several doctors working with my boyfriends mother, but since I was here for a while the faces became familiar. I truly felt that these people cared immensely for her. I felt a calmness with the doctors, they really had a warmth to them. I don't know too much about hospitals, but they really have all the shiz here. So. many. things. Tubes, and wires and lines and machines and more tubes and gauze and stickers and bla bla bla! It's amazing! Everyone manages to be so organized and the doctors always smile and greet you when you're in the room, even if they have 1038123 other things to be thinking about. Unfortunately the visiting hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., but you can come anytime if it's the first day there, I think. You're in good hands here, they will help.

The medical personnel were attentive and always listened to your need. The medications were timely, education and communications were thorough and the surgeons and nurses took some time to get to know the patients. Amazing care!

I was on vacation nearby when a mystery case of altitude sickness or some other type of severe travel related illness hit me. After hours of not feeling well, the relatives I was visiting brought me here. It was around 10 pm on a Friday night. Very minimal wait to be seen, less than 10 minutes. This is a small and basic equipped hospital but serves most emergency related needs. I don't speak German but luckily the doctor on staff spoke English. However the nurse assisting him did not so we required a bit of translation. Either way, everyone was friendly helpful and quick to make me feel better. After spending an hour or so getting rehydrated by IV I was feeling much better and ready to go. I had travel medical insurance but the staff seemed perplexed by my insurance card and had no idea how to process it. I ended up paying 70 euros cash. An extremely reasonable rate considering these services would have literally cost $5000 back home in the US. It was worth every penny to get checked out by medical staff and feel better so I could continue enjoying my trip.
