I just cannot say enough good about this place! My Dad was in there for about 7 weeks. It was the cleanest facility I have ever been in! From the moment you walk in the door, Connie at the front desk greets you! She is great to visit with and answers any questions you may have. She is very knowledgeable about the facility. Dad was in Bayside View, first for rehab and then in Hospice. The staff there....I can't give them enough praise! From maintenance, cleaning, Office people, activity director, Dining room, CNS's, and nurses....they were all spectacular! Michelle from the dining room took such good care of "Bob #2" as she called him! Dad was a very picky eater and he really enjoyed the food there! Even if it was ground! He hadn't eaten so much for the last several years because he had been living by himself. Bethany and Carolyn, Head nurses, were the best! I lived in Arkansas and would call them day and night to ask them about Dad! If I didn't call them...they would call me to keep me informed! Carolyn was there for his last day and last breaths. She was amazing! So caring and empathetic! The place is beautifully located on the lake with a gorgeous sunroom to go enjoy. They have activities for them if they want to participate and they go outside just to sit and enjoy the nice days. The rooms are very spacious and private! They get to bring in what they want to personalize it to make it feel like home. The maintenance guy was so very nice at putting the things up on the walls for us. There is a panoramic view of the lake from many of the rooms and the sun room on every floor. It actually looks like you're viewing it from a cruise ship. The staff is very efficient, helpful and cheerful. The foid is excellent. With a good variety the serving size is large. The food very tasty and is supplemented with snacks throughout the day. When I think of a nursing home, I typically think of somewhere really run down, dismal, and depressing. Fortunately for my grandpa, that is the opposite of how I would describe Methodist Manor. It is instead a beautiful place for anyone to live. It is new and wonderfully up-kept. The views of the lake are magnificent and my grandpa's room in particular has a fantastic lake shore view. The staff members are all spectacular and do a great job of being rays of sunshine in what I assume to be an otherwise difficult environment to work in. They always offer us drinks and snacks when we visit and make conversation with us and the residents. They are able to do so much to help my grandpa and we are all very grateful. They have a room you can rent out to have family over to visit as well as sun rooms on each floor that you are free to use at any time. They also offer events for the family, like the hosted Thanksgiving we went to this year. It was only $7 for each family member and it made it possible for us to have a family dinner The food, I have to mention, is also fantastic. In my defense, my grandpa said he was not hungry and offered me his food! So, after asking if he was sure multiple times, I happily obliged. It was not your school cafeteria kind of food. This was really good! And that's the way it should be if it's what the residents are eating every day. I'm pretty sure my grandpa is more well fed now with three very full meals a day than he was when he was at home. I have nothing but great things to say about Methodist Manor. We sleep well at night knowing that Grandpa is being taken care of very well and I always leave visits happy and full of good spirits. read more
