I joined him today, per his request. This church is beautiful and humongous ... a bit too over the top for me though, with the large screens (you can follow bible verses, readings, and song lyrics), concert type performances and loudness on the microphones. As much as I love music, I prefer a talking service, with minimal singing. I'll go again to support my son but I'll stick with my little, much quieter parish. Lovely people but not for me.

It's a place that truly loves God and stands firmly on His Word. The pastor teaches the Gospel clearly and doesn't shy away from speaking truth... even when it challenges you to look at your own heart. Those messages are exactly what's needed today, and they always point back to growing closer to Jesus. Another thing we love is the kids and youth ministries. My kiddos absolutely love going! It's a fun, welcoming environment, but more importantly, the teachers genuinely care about guiding kids and teens toward a real relationship with Jesus. If you're looking for a God-loving church that teaches the Bible, this is a good place.

We traveled 40 miles to attend, my first time......my son is there every Sunday and has been asking me to come along and experience it. They have confession before the mass begins at 8:00 am and continues during the mass until the last one is heard. So no excuse not to receive communion. The Eucharist is given out while kneeling at the altar. The music is beautiful, the congregation genuflects while the priest walks down the aisle. You truly feel the presence of Our Lord Jesus in this beautiful tiny church.

The church is modest, yet so beautiful, both at the same time. The priest was incredible, personable, and even put some levity into the memorial. I appreciated his microphone head set. The singers acquired were angelic and professional . . . they made the service even more special than it already was. I really enjoyed the décor and open and airiness of the church overall. I kept looking up at Jesus on the cross when the songs were breaking my heart and had me in literal tears. My absolutely ONLY, ONLY, ONLY negative, was that there was no public water (or even bottled) available. I was parched. An employee told me that there were paper cups in the bathroom. I'm fine with drinking tap water, but I really found it odd to not have water on hand for guests. People get anxious and overcome at viewings/funerals - I would think that water is a NECESSITY! I hope to go to this beauty for a happy occasion sometime. . .

The ambiance is lovely with the huge stained windows, especially when there is sunlight streaming in through the colored glass. There is something oddly comforting about the old wooden pews that creak softly as people rise and sit throughout Mass. The priest spoke eloquently during the liturgy, and there are little touches to encourage smiles that made even newbies like me feel welcome (such as shaking hands and welcoming each other). Finally, music was incredibly well done. The singer was wonderful and her piano accompanist was truly gifted. A nice touch to a lovely service.

This man delivers the word of God every time. The church is open EVERYDAY so what ever you are facing you do not have to face it alone. Come see for yourself, I promise that you will feel the presence of the Lord. This ministry is there to reach every age group! I visited Bethany for a pre-Women's Day service recently where a guest preacher, that I follow on…read moreIG, was preaching. My 16yo daughter commented that we should visit one day for Sunday service, as it is less than ten miles from home. I expected there to be an offering, but in the beginning of the service, they had two baskets. Bishop Evans said one was for the guest preacher, and the other for the ministry. He then said we needed to put the same amount in each basket. Umm, say what now? I've never heard a pastor tell the congregation how to give! I had a $10 bill and a $5 bill. I put the former in the basket for the guest, since she was the reason I was there, and nothing in the other. The guest preacher was awesome, but when she was done, SHE announced another offering for herself! Needles to say, I did not give. I mean, I thought that's what the earlier offering was for! Then, Bishop Evans says "if you didn't sow a seed, you should have", and words to the effect that your blessings are dependent on your giving. I was outdone! And to top it all off, there was no altar call. I guess they were too concerned with folks's money than their souls. Even my daughter said, after we left, that therein lies the reason a lot of people don't go to church, especially mega churches - because they think they're all about the money. I'm thankful that at my home church, Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, we pray for those who want to give but can't. I was disappointed in my experience at Bethany. So much so, that Jesus Christ himself would have to be preaching before I would visit again!
