I went to Metro Mikee's for a first appointment and consultation to discuss my tragic hair that was overdue for a trim, was growing out the last bad dye job from 5+ months ago and had a bit of damage already from heat styling and old box color. I'm a brunette and wanted to go partly or mostly platinum blonde/grey - which is really really hard considering my damage and the red my hair naturally pulls - and I was even prepared to cut a few inches off in the event my already damaged hair couldn't take the process- i wanted the color that bad. Mikee had the best advice and although I wanted to hair change fast and visible, he talked me into a few months of careful bleaching appointments with really gentle products and sent me home with great shampoo and conditioner to take care of my newly bleached hair. As we continued with the bleaching appointments I was ecstatic about how well the color turned out (literally platinum white on the ends and front) and with his advice, I stopped shampooing constantly and conditioned hard once a week. I also threw away my hair dryer and almost cried but seriously... I bleached the hell out of my dark brown hair and reached a gorgeous platinum and silver highlight and my hair is so stinking soft! His tough love on my hair regimen was just what my hair needed. I equate bleach with damage and that straw-textured hair... but he did it the step by step healthy way and coached me with the best techniques and products in between appointments (EVEN DURING THE NOW QUARANTINE) and my hair still feels amazing and looks pretty good. I can't wait to get back and do another round of highlights, toner and conditioner. My hair always feels like new when I leave this salon I can't even rave enough about it. Client fo' life! Mikee is an absolute master stylist. Not only is he incredibly passionate about your hair when you are with him, but he also takes time to educate on upkeep for the time between appointments. I've seen a handful of "top-tier" stylists at neighboring, highly-ranked salons and Mikee absolutely blows them all out of the water. I've never seen my hair in such a healthy, luxurious state- and thanks to him I know secrets on how to keep it that way. Mikee is the best hairstylist I've ever gone too. He does threading for the eyebrows and my eyebrows look fabulous:) My hair was dry and brittle, now it looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
