I was treated last year for a root canal which never fully healed. This resulted in a failed root canal and was forced to get retreatment from a specialist. This forced me to come out of pocket as the "Failed" Root canal the prior year used my insurance and thus causing me to pay an additional 1500 out of pocket for the same treatment. This medical practice is not willing to work with me on continued services by providing some sort of discount due to their failed procedure. The office staff are super friendly, efficient, and technology is up to date - appointment reminders come via email, if you'd like, and insurance information is updated on the spot. Dr. Childress has been my dentist since I came to NWA. I have found him to be very easy going and thorough without being over-aggressive in treatment. I went to the same dentist for 18 years (literally my entire life) and when I moved away from my hometown, I had terrible experiences at other dentists. Metropark Dentals Arts is the first one I've been to (on multiple occasions) that I actually really like and don't mind going to. They make you feel very at ease and they make sure that you're comfortable in their care. The receptionists are so sweet and knowledgeable of your information. The lobby is decorated nicely and they have complimentary snacks and drinks. The first time I went, I noticed they were playing Christian music. I was already having anxiety about going to a new dentist, but that put me right at ease. The rest of the appointment was smooth sailing. My dentist (Dr. Mercer) and my hygienist (I believe her name is Megan, I'm terrible with names) are absolutely wonderful. I've had two deep cleanings by Megan and I was comfortable the whole time. Ms. Vicky is amazing! She is patient and joyful and great with my son. She also was my husband's hygienist when he was a toddler all the way through high school. I love the atmosphere here and that it's run by amazing Christian people. They have a variety of magazines in the waiting room, a tv, hot chocolate, cider, coffee, and water to drink, and all different types of snacks for when you wait. Worst dentist office ever! Didn't verify dental benefits the day of my husbands dental appointment, filed with the wrong insurance, when it denied 6 months later Metro park sent us the bill for their incompetence. When I called they spoke to me about the bill and everything that was going on with it until they realized they messed up the insurance and then said it was a Hippa violation to speak to me anymore my husband would need to call them. Really? You already violated Hippa and when i ask to speak to a manager they said she would call me back, never got that call. When ask why they didn't verify benefits they didn't know they normally do just as every other dentist office does. Then because it was pending with insurance so long turned it over to collections before we even got a chance to pay the bill. Dr Erickson is great but he needs to check his staff, that is who represents him! read more

Very poor patient care! I called and booked an appointment. When I got there, fortunately I asked about the treatment and realizes that they got confused with the last name of a different patient while booking an appt. On top of this they came back and blamed me for agreeing with the wrong address and date of birth while setting up an appointment. However, one of them did a root canal on the wrong tooth, then to top it off put a permanent bridge on top of the teeth all in the same day. After a bill of nearly $2000 to an endodontist a few days later when this clinic WOULD DO NOTHING to help the pain I was in, this clinic now will not even return a phone call to me. I recently went to this dentist office for a basic filling. The office said I had an abscessed tooth, needed a root canal, and crown. My gut told me to get a 2nd opinion, I got 2 more opinions from different dentists and indeed my gut was right. I ended up with a basic fillng and nothing more. Do not go to this place if you value your teeth and money. The money spent was not even as big a deal to me as the damage done. My teeth had very minimal damage ( a few minor fillings in the back) when I first walked into this office. I left with a lot of deep fillings, a root canal I never needed, almost a 2nd root canal, and damage done to my front teeth that will never look natural again. My dentist, Dr. Childress, took it upon himself to "fix" my front teeth when I was medicated and having work done on a another tooth. He cut down to tiny little numbs and left them exposing to the yellow denton in the middle of the tooth. As soon as I sat up and was given a mirror I almost cried and told him that it looked terrible and would not do. He said to me, "just try it out for a few weeks, it will grow on you". This was one of the most regretable mistakes i have ever made. PLEASE don't make the same. Stay away from this place. read more

Do not go here! My veneer for my front tooth broke. I had meetings the next morning, and was leaving for a family reunion the next day as well. They got me right in. Since my new insurance did not yet cover this expense, I had to pay out of pocket. I explained to them that I did not have the $1,000 now, but had several hundred and will gladly pay them to make me a temporary just to get me through the week-end and my upcoming meetings, and not look like a hockey player. They refused to make me a temporary unless I would commit to the $1,000 veneer that moment. They even asked me to hurry with my decision because there were people behind me. I walked out and picked up the phone. I called Todd Phelan Family Dentistry. They told me that they were booked up, but they'll make it work. I was in their chair within the hour. That dentist did exactly what I needed, and got me a temp tooth for my meetings, and just charged me for the visit and x-ray. They quoted me for the new tooth ($200 less) and even set up a payment plan. (And I could hear my 7 month old baby laughing in the lobby the whole time while having a blast with the amazing ladies at the front desk!) I cannot understand why Metropark would not just help get me out of a toothless bind, and gain my respect forever. It is very apparent that if they cant get a large amount of money from you, they do not want you as a customer. The good news....I found a new dentist!! read more
