initial set up and acquisition of rental unit was easy, as were online payment arrangement. "Increased costs" resulted in lower insurance coverage and increased monthly rents, which are to be expected. As long as rent was paid, service was respectfully provided.
Howeve, when personal items, household appliances and furniture were removed from unit with significant water and subsequent rust, mildew and mold damage, there were months of delays, despite assurances that "we'll have someone contact you".
When contact was finally made, the company contact denied any responsibility for the damages, despite provincial flooding, and photographic proof of damages. The individual blamed the damage on "fluctuations in humidity" in the unit (which is not covered in their insurance coverage) and said "upon thorough investigation of the unit... no evidence of floods, leaks... at the time of the reported issue". When asked to provide proof of this investigation, communication became redundant with the contact repeating the same information, moving the communication from dismissive to condescending.
In further unsatisfactory and dismissive communication, our family was offered two months credit, which neither meets our expectations considering the coverage included in the contract nor will cover even the cost of replacing one of the appliance.
Opportunistic business practices, Metro Self Storage does not honour their insurance obligations. They are slow to address concerns effectively, minimize client complaints and misrepresent services covered by the contract. Though effectively managing the roster and collecting rental fees, the term "valued customer" means nothing to this company should the customer have any problems with their rental unit.
Go elsewhere, or sell your belongings. Metro Self Storage does not honour their own terms and conditions. read more
