What sets their stylists apart is that they are committed to healthy hair in all of their treatments and they are constantly doing continuous education so they are always able to do on-trend styles. There's a reason Metropolis has been named a Top 100 Salon by Elle Magazine. Cannot say enough good things about them. Julie, the owner, has been doing my hair for 13 (!!!) years. She's done long 'dos, short cuts, gorgeous colors, and she did my hair for my wedding, as well. She's really great at doing what you want but also making appropriate suggestions and communicating throughout the process. She's also a terrific person who is great to talk sports with. She's always provided cuts that have been age and career appropriate but that are on-trend. Kailyn and Edith have also done my hair. Edith gave me a great cut, and Kailyn gave me great color. I trust all of the stylists at this salon because Julie works with all of them and makes sure they're always getting education. The desk staff has always been great. I'm always greeted with kindness and an offer for a beverage, and they make scheduling a breeze. I live 45 minutes away and asked if I could please make the consultation right before the appt because I live too far to make two separate appts. They told me "no". I was in Fayetteville for a wedding and Metropolis was very flexible and accommodating for a last minute blow out. They are very conveniently located downtown. Kaylin was excellent and gave me a Dry Bar-quality blowout for just $30. She listened to what I wanted and was able to immediately evaluate my hair and which products would make my curls last. Even though we just met, I could tell she knew her stuff. If I lived here, I would come back for a cut and color! read more

Brides Beware: they will unapologetically double book on you. I booked this salon to get my hair/makeup done and for my bridesmaids five months in advance with 2 stylists so we could be there at 11 and leave before 3. I get a call from Metropolis 7 weeks before my wedding to say that one of the stylists had booked another wedding, so my party would need to show up at 8:45am and stay until 3. I said I had booked two stylists because I didn't want to spend 6+ hours at the salon. I asked if there was any way we could work this out - maybe bring in a different person to assist? The response I got was that no changes were possible and that I would have to spend 6 hours at the salon. The receptionist I spoke to never apologized and actually said "it's not my fault". I luckily found a different local salon on very short notice and cancelled Metropolis. I know they have some great stylists, but is it really worth taking a chance when the staff have zero accountability? read more

Lisa is one of the best, if not the best hairstylist I have had. I've lived in Houston and Austin and Fayetteville area. She would take about 50 minutes to wash, cut, rinse, shave neck, trim, etc. And the cuts were really. I miss not being in Fayetteville now. When I moved...I even went in on my last day in town to get a haircut. Also, I consider Lisa a friend now. She is fantastic. read more
