When the fabrics didn't arrive fast enough, we were threatened with additional charges of another $1,000 plus, or they were going to sell my property. We went and picked them up, but I had to threaten legal action to get my property back and let them keep the initial $1,000 I paid. The old French sofa was damaged when I sent it, I had asked them to strip it, so I could send it for repairs and then return it for the upholstery to be finished, but Leonel's assured me they could perform the repair, so I made sure the leg that had broken was kept with the sofa. I've been waiting over a month for the leg, it was in the office and they assured me it would be returned. I finally got tired of waiting, so we went out to Leonel's to get our missing leg, No leg. They did give us a chewed up piece of the sofa from where the leg attached to the sofa that they had removed. They had told us they had the leg in the office when went to pick it up initially and they would return it with the larger french sofa that couldn't fit in my large SUV. No leg then and no leg now, just a chewed up piece that used to be attached to the sofa. We could hear their dogs barking in the office! Also, when I initially talked to Leonel's they gave me a quote, just before we had our movers deliver the two settees, Leonel's asked if we still had the quote. I didn't have it handy, so I told her no, but I did still have it filed away. She issued a second quote which was not the same price as the first and that was after I told them I would have someone else make the cushion seats. No apologies, no explanation, just lies, threats, and accusations that I'm saying horrible things to her when I question the chewed condition and teeth marks on my furniture.

From Veterans Head south on Bainbridge and make a U-turn and cross over the canal as if returning to Vets. The shop is about half way between Fulton and 27th St. there is a well worn sign on his section of the building. Having dealt with custom top and trim shops in other locals, this shop was one of the, if not the best, in our experience. You get to know quality when convertibles are a part of your life. I grabbed a nice mid century pattern and the chair was back to her beautiful self. Then months later I returned, this time a facebook marketplace find, a lovely blue spotted mid-century choice. The staff is always pleasant and willing to help. Then finally another pair of castoffs on the side of the road. Yep.....Back to Artee, their selection just continues to grow. Not everything is bargain basement price, higher quality fabrics, higher prices. BUT there were about 20 or so 5.95$ bolts as I walked in the door. Every style from traditional to far out and funky. Last time I paid 21.95$ per yard for my blue fabric....this time 34.95$ for the greenish turquoise pattern. I can tell you the big box places don't have anything under 50$ so I've already saved a bundle. I am always completely distracted by all the choices, maybe Im creating future projects in my head. On a separate note.....I read the other reviews and all I can say is....more bees with honey than vinegar. The staff is great, check your bad attitude at the door.

Well, they actually did spray paint and it was the wrong color that did not match and it looked horrible. I brought my car into them and they immediately looked at the issue and fixed it so very fast, they told me it was gonna take two hours and it only took one hour for them to call me and say it was ready. I rarely write negative reviews, I rather communicate directly, but the lack of service,…read morecommunication and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Anthony must be reported. I contacted Anthony on September 28 and arranged to get the chairs picked up on October 1. Within hours, he called back and expressed concerns with the amount of fabric provided, but told me that he will review again and call back with any concerns. After not hearing from him on over 18 days, I called him to get a status on the chairs. To my surprised, he had not started the work and claimed he would start in a week. During this conversation, Anthony argued with me about the length of time he has had the chairs, and declined continuing the job. It must be nice to be in a position to decline jobs and argue with clients. Definitely a learning experience and pay more for better service.
