As my parents live close enough for us to go here on special occasions I've been a couple of time over the years and always enjoyed it and am always looking forward to it when they tell me they booked a table for us. I wouldn't know which dish to point out especially though but I think they cater well for every taste. Even though it's suitable as much for special occasions as it is for just a leisurely stop for a coffee or light snack. The staff definitely enjoy working here, the food never disapointed me and the atmosphere of the old building adds all to my experience. And even though it's not neccessarily related to the Wohldorfer Mühle itself: the surroundings with lovely walks and views around it helps the whole experience.

The massive schnitzel is served on a plate of it's own, topped with a fried egg, but also comes complete with a delicious side salad and an excellent serving of bratkartoffeln with specks of onion and bacon. The meal is quite sizable for one person and my wife and I have shared it a few times, while ordering a curry rostbratwurst between us as well. The space here is quite large, a comfortable rustic setting, and ideal for groups. We've also never felt it necessary to make reservations in advance which is nice when you are looking for last-minute good food options.

Pretty dry; maybe they should add some gravy to them. The salad was tasty too. An interesting thing I noted from a friend who got the veggie burger is that the german veggie burger doesn't have a pattie! This really shocked me but I was told this is pretty common in Germany. Still I find it really hard to accept a burger without a pattie.

This restaurant is fairly close to Wunderland so if you're heading over there, definitely recommend stopping by! They were super sweet in giving us a simplified english menu, along with the normal german one. I was really craving Schnitzel and Spaetzle but unfortunately they did not have any spaetzle so I went for Schnitzel or the breaded pork with a fried egg and fried potatoes. My friend got the Salmon with Taligatelle. I also ordered a lübzer pils (0.5L obviously) and my friend took a bottle of still water. the food was super quick to arrive and it was delicious! my pork was moist, juicy with the most perfectly cooked and fresh egg (very yummy compared to the ones you get in the US!) and the potatoes were unbelievably tasty! My friend's pasta was also very well seasoned and her salmon was buttery and fresh. The meal really blew us away and hit the spot. Service was a little slow since it packed up quickly and we were all the way in the corner but that's fine--I enjoy the leisure of getting to relax and enjoy dinner at our own pace! The tables and seating seem to be an eclectic collection that work well together. My server was prompt and I ordered a "Jever" pilsner beer to start. She brought over an English menu and made some suggestions. I took her suggestion for "Pork medallions with button mushrooms ala creme and fried potatoes". This was three thick slices of pork tenderloin. This and the potatoes were delicious and a very generous portion. The bowl portion came with an entire smoked sausage and was a large portion. The rump steak was as good as it can be. The beef remoulade was not rolled but thin sliced cold beef served with some onions and a mild horse radish sauce. My companion enjoyed the herring plate. Four types of herring. The combination is on point! Our waiter was funny and friendly. The only downside was service was slower. I don't know if it's because I'm an American and I don't know how to enjoy my meals or service was truly slow. Not a deal breaker since it allowed our table to talk and connect more.
