RENTERS/TENANTS BEWARE!!!! If at all possible, please rent through another property management company. If you must rent through Meybohm please get everything in writing. Through my business with them I have found them to be dishonest and very manipulative. I say this because they tried to increase my rent outside of the terms that's listed in my lease. When I tried to convey that to them they were very disrespectful. They even tried to scare me into thinking they could evict me if I didn't pay the difference. Luckily I hired an attorney to look over my lease. My attorney sent them a letter through certified mail and they denied receiving it. However, my attorney is efficient and provided me with the documentation. So of course they had to comply with what is legally binding. They then tried to charge me a late fee and an underpayment charge for the previous month. For almost 3 years I'd never been late. I was late this time because that had the illegal amount listed in the tenant portal and you can't pay anything other than what's listed. My attorney told me to only pay what's legally binding. So I got a check and sent it certified mail. Two of the three delivery attempts were unsuccessful bc 1. They didn't provide entry 2. There wasn't anyone who could supposedly sign for it. Because of their underhanded practices I had to protect myself and send it certified. They are unprofessional, disrespectful, dishonest, and very manipulative. READ AND KNOW YOUR LEASE!!!! They thought they could make multiple yelp accounts to confuse people into thinking they've not been reviewed so I'll do the world a favor by copy pasting my review to all of the Meybohm pages. I couldn't think of a worse company to do business with. You want to see an apartment available for rent? Be prepared to call a hundred times and get shuffled around for a week first. You have a question about your rental agreement? Be prepared to read a very confusing contract constantly contradicting itself. You want to see your security deposit returned? Fat chance, they're going to trump up a hundred reasons not to give you the money and then try and charge you more than two months rent to leave. I've rented for nearly a decade now and have never been anything short of a great tenant or had any issues with an apartment management company. This is a place of rental nightmare. If you want to rent from them you may as well prepare to donate a grand to their company and go to school to learn to repair issues with the apartment yourself. read more

I am totally disgusted with Kim Harris & Heidi Liy at Meybohm Property Mgmt. I rented a house the was later taken over by Meybohm after renting for 6 years. When I moved out they sent me a bill over $3k for a house that was not in good shape when I moved in. I went back & forth by several emails trying to dispute the charges. They could care less. About 2 months later I get a call from a collection agency without any notice from Meybohm that I was even being sent to a collection agency. I paid EVERY payment on time for 9 years & cleaned the place as best as I could. They still insist I owe them. I totally pissed!!! read more

I wish I could leave zero stars! I recently moved out of a Meybohm property and will NEVER rent through them again. To begin with, when I moved into the property it was filthy, but given that I had moved cross-country I had no where else to go. The baseboards were disgusting, the bathroom ceiling had mold, the only coating on the window in the bathroom was white spray paint which was already chipping off. The door had damage from a sticker being put on it and the windows were coated in dust and had dead bugs on it. So it suffices to say I cleaned the entire apartment as soon as I arrived. During my year living there I had multiple extremely negative experiences. The owner of the property entered my home in the early morning with no notice and I was not dressed. He didn't have any idea what he was even there to look at. The communication from Meybohm was unpredictable and would sometimes come through email, sometimes text and always from all different phone numbers. I was given notice of some roof work through text, and the work was done a day early so my car was blocked into the parking lot. I had a ceiling leak at one point and the damage, which was reported and "fixed" was listed as damage on my move out inspection. When I did leave, they refused to inspect with me there the day prior, given that I was leaving earlier than office hours the next day, and when they did it without me there, I suspect they made things seem dirtier than I had left and charged me 300 for a "deep clean." I'm not sure where this deep clean was before I had moved in. In addition almost everything on the inspection as "damage" was pre existing and I pointed it out at move in. I would not use them to manage my property. There has to be something better in the Augusta/Evans area. Their service has dropped dramatically in the last two years. I lost two months rent while my unit sat empty while they found somebody to repair a slat on a mini blind, a stopper, and a small paint stain. That's a one day repair not a 60 day repair. They have no sense of urgency, poor communication skills, and some of their employees have poor attitudes. Some are okay, but some are not. Anyway, they have lost me thousands. Horrible company to rent from. Nothing gets fixed, no communication, and you will be blamed for anything wrong with the place, even if it was like that when you arrived. I would NEVER recommend to anyone. read more

If I could give this company less than one star. I live in a property managed by this company. In a word unprofessional. I live in the property approximately 6 years paid on time only two issues in 6 years due to fraud on my account. We repainted the walls of the home with higher value paint. The owner was great. The management company horrible. Rent increased without owners knowlege. Owner called asked them not to do the increase. Renter beware. You are treated like a criminal. Find somewhere else to rent. Be sure to google search other reviews. I moved out before the end the lease. The owner of the property would not let the sell it for them. I did not get my deposit back and was charged 225 for a broken door bell, shrub that was not cut and burn mark in the oven. Prior to moving out I paid 300 for full professional clean and 120 for pest control. The house went immediately on the market and is under contract. If l left property in such bad shape why was it in turn key status and ready for sale immediately. Once again beware. read more

I wish I could give this place a 0 star rating. So many unnecessary fees. Management was terrible to work with as a tenant. My husband and I rented a townhouse with good intentions. From the start the landlord and management company were dishonest. There was an ant infestation at our property, I noticed probably a week after moving in. The contract only gave us three days to notify management if there was a bug problem. The ants got into our ac unit, causing it to stop working several times during the summer. They had contracted workers come out. The workers said it was a problem before. In August, they added a $400 fee to our $895 rent. They threatened to evict us for not paying the $400 by the 5th after we had already paid our rent. Also added a $100 late fee. Very hard for us to pay. Wouldn't let us do a payment plan. When we moved out, we had to pay a carpet cleaner to come, clean the entire place (of course), have someone clean the gutters and cut the grass....only to be charged a "cleaning fee" -- money they took from our deposit. read more
