The waiter was good. The food was not hot in temp but in spice. I did mention to the waiter that I can't do spicy foods. Noticed a lady that works there opened someone's bottle of soda the top fell on the floor she still placed it on the bottle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ladies restroom had no soap. Came back to try their lunch. We sat outside on the patio since it was a gorgeous day. Service was prompt and very attentive. Food didn't disappoint. As soon as you walk in you notice how spacious their seating is. VERY rare to find such space in a restaurant these days. I also appreciated their decor and high ceiling. We ordered the following: - Guac and chip: good flavor, could've been spicier. The chips are a little salty but worked well with the (free) salsa and Guac. - veg tacos: good flavor. The caramelized onion added a sweet touch but overall the rice, beans and taco had amazing flavor. - lemon fish fillet: great flavor, portion size is HUGE. -mango virgin mojito: loved this drink, super flavorful and fresh tasting - mango cocktail: okkkk this drink was STRONG. I had to end up swapping with my husband but worth the price. - pina jalapeño: great flavor and perfect proportion of juice to alcohol A few negative of this place is that music is VERY loud, it was difficult to have a conversation at our table and order our items (we were literally yelling at each other). We ordered mojitos, which were delicious, that came in about 5 minutes, and then we ordered our food, which came in about 5-7 minutes. I ordered the ACP with chicken and boy was this great. It was super filling, cheesy, and flavorful -- just what I was craving. The portions were well balanced and the quantity was massive, I took home enough for lunch the next day. Everything looked good, but not much taste. Beans were bland and rice was tasteless. Shrimp was good, beef and chicken had little taste. Only had green peppers and onions in the pan, I usually have tomatoes and red peppers also. Most of these restaurants cater to local people and are afraid to put taste in the food. A little garlic would have been nice or cumin. My wife asked for raw onions and it was a $1. Service was good and food came out in less than 8 mins. I asked my server for salt but she forgot and I needed it bad for taste so I got it myself. If we go there again, I know what to expect and will ask to have it my way. Not so much worried about the price for individual additions, but don't think I'll get my garlic or cumin. I'm excited to have a Mezcalito location that is closer to me. My mom and I checked it out for lunch and had a good time. I started off with a beer and so did my mom then I had a top shelf margarita. For food it was the queso to start then the lunch chimichanga with shredded chicken for me and the lunch fajitas with chicken and shrimp for my mom and the tres leches cake for dessert. The food, drinks and service were all really good. I'll have to return soon to try some of their other alcoholic beverages. read more

Joined lunch plans here for the first time. It was a bit slow entering the restaurant but not a wait to be seated. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and decorated with plants which are always a nice addition. The music they continuously played was decent enough. The staff was nice and pleasant. I tried the chorizo queso dip which was good and flavorful. For my entree, I ordered the Ultimate ACP and I enjoyed it. I found the Ultimate ACP portion small - I ordered the dinner version. Besides that, it was very flavorful. For dessert, I had to churro which came with whipped cream and chocolate. I enjoyed the churros as well. The churros weren't hot. They were just warm. This can be improved. It was a little slow getting the items we asked for like extra plates, and napkins and our waitress was self-aware of her slowness and apologized. There isn't much here that would make the food and experience overly exceptional. I do appreciate how the waitress acknowledged service slowness with a lot of our requests. Ordered Fiesta chicken salad - chicken was less than 1/8 inch, quite tough and salad was 80% tomatoes, very little lettuce, dressing was not something I've ever tasted. Great Mexican food. We love the tacos and the bowls. They have a very nice salsa served with chips and an amazing selection of margaritas. I will skip the churros in the future though. This restaurant is beautiful and I really enjoyed the vibe. I wasn't really happy with the vegetarian menu. We had fajitas, quesadillas and bowl which didn't enjoy much. I guess the flavors we're missing and I didn't like the sweet they added. I personally had ultimate acp (steak,shrimp , chicken) which was good minus the same sweet sauce. For me ultimate nachos and michalades drink with corona was the highlight. I love the twist of sweet and spicy with beer. I would definitely go there again but just for appetizers and cocktails. read more

I've had it on my agenda to visit Mezcalito at their Durham location after hearing all the hype about their Clayton location. This popular chain Mexican restaurant & cantina is famously known for their extravagant and enormous cocktails. They have several locations in N.C and I was surprised when I heard about their newest in Apex. This location features a nice private parking lot and outdoor seating. Very convenient. I invited my friends out for brunch around 1:30. When we arrived there was a line out the door to check in. An abundance of families dining with many children dining. I did not get to experience the live party atmosphere that those visiting Durham have. Many complained of the loud music in their reviews but my experience was the complete opposite. I could barely make out the music played. It was a lot of instrumental Latin music. Not loud at all. I was kind of hoping for some obnoxious Bad Bunny and Reggaeton at brunch. Our service started off slow. Our waitress was very kind and apologized for the service due to how busy on a Sunday. We started with tortilla chips & salsa. I ordered the Chori Queso and it was delicious. The spicy chorizo was very flavorful. For my entree I decided on my favorite burrito dish, the Lunch special Al Pastor Burrita. A moist marinated pork burrito with pineapple, salsa verde / cheese / crema mexicana / pineapple / cilantro / rice / refried beans. It was very good. The perfect portion for the lunch special price of $8.99. My friends had the ACP with shrimp & nachos. For my cocktail, I had to try the Cantarito everyone has been raving about. I decided on 1800 Repo Tequila. 1800 is my favorite tequila. It did not disappoint! The grapefruit flavor was delicious with all the other flavors. Very refreshing ! The cup it came in was the perfect presentation. For dessert we had tres leche & churros. My tres leche was very good.
