I think this is one of the best restaurants in Chico. The food is incredible. We had the baked feta and various kabob plates. Being middle eastern myself, standards are high and this was the most amazing taste of home I've experienced!!! The service was great, the owner checked on every table and you can tell what pride he has in his amazing business. I can't wait to go back and can't recommend this place enough. Just wow! My husband and I love Mediterranean food and this place is the absolute best! We ordered the falafel and hummus appetizers and they were both great. Our main meals included the beef kabob and chicken kabob plates and both were cooked perfectly and came with a very flavorful roasted veggie side that I could eat by the gallon! The owner provided very fast and personable service; you can really see he cares about his restaurant and wants you to be fully satisfied. We were even surprised with a little tasting plate of several different varieties of baklava! We suggest you give it a try and can say we will be retuning for sure! read more

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this restaurant. First and foremost, when you go...choose to slow down and enjoy the experience. Do not rush out because you will miss out on building a wonderful relationship with the family. I went today with 2 other people and we were there for easily 2 hours and enjoyed many conversations with Emin, the owner. He KNOWS people, slightly mind blown with all he got correct with us. He also read the cup after one of us finished the Turkish coffee, he was spot on to everything. On top of all that, the restaurant is beautiful and the tables are not packed in. The food!!!! We did not hold back and tried many things. We were treated to an order of mussels to start, I normally do not eat seafood but gave them a try and was surprised how much I enjoyed them. The flavors were great! We had the appetizer combo, salad, falafel wrap, beef/lamb gyro, and ended up with so many desserts in front of us. It was so great to experience the food, every single flavor. We all left fully satisfied and plenty of food for Atleast another meal or 2. We will be returning and look forward to putting our appetites in their hands for them to create whatever they want for us to try. read more

The best thing that we ordered was the Meze Moon Sampler appetizer platter. Delicious falafel, baba ganoush, dolma, fried feta, with hummus, tzatziki, and ezme. We should have stopped there. The Mediterranean chicken sandwich was served on a stale bun and the chicken was very tough. I asked for an order of falafel on a pita or flat bread. The server brought a falafel wrap. The vegetarian moussaka was just okay. Everything had so much garlic that it overwhelmed other flavors. The side salad was big enough for 2. Fresh warm bread and garlic butter came to the table. We also had a pot of Turkish tea that was nice. The atmosphere is beautiful but noisy. read more

The food is good but it's WAY WAY over priced!! I've had equally as good in LA and not NEARLY this expensive. I feel like a lot of restaurants around Chico are taking advantage (not in a good way) of wealthy college students making up 2/3 of the population. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, really yum garlic butter w free bread, but the bread is cold so that threw me off. I got a falafel wrap and it was good, good wet to dry ratio, lacked a bit of flavor, maybe just more salt? And I'm not a salt person. Wasn't impressed with the tortilla they used as the wrap, should be more pita like, which I know they do a sandwich pocket option but regardless the wrap should mimick that pita style as well. Huge portion, it was almost like 2 full wraps once they cut it in half. I originally ordered the lentil soup to go.But, when I arrived the waitress was very appologetic and offered me a free meal, on the house, because they ran out of the soup. So, I ordered their chicken gyro. First off, it was a burrito not a gyro. And it was the worst chicken burrito I ever had in my life. Couldn't even taste the garlic sauce. And thought the onions overpowered the other ingredients. It was too strong and not sweet, nor pickled. The chicken itself was bland and unmarinated. Zero stars for the dish, but the service and ambiance was great. However, I will not return, because the meal I had wasn't authentic for the menu price. I prefer Ali Baba's hands down. read more

The food was to die for. It always is. Emin gave us a coffee reading at the end of our stay which was such a treat. He sat down with us, talked to us...the hospitality was the best I've experienced in a Chico restaurant aside from the incredible food. Came on a Sunday, got the salmon kebab and the pistachio rice pudding, some of the best food I've had. Definitely one of the best restaurants in chico. Prices are high, but so is everything else these days. Server was nice, ambiance is good (cool light fixtures). Never been to a Mediterranean restaurant with so many great dessert options. Highly recommend trying out Meze Moon, it is the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, no lie! Emin, the owner was extremely friendly and welcoming, you felt like a guest more than a customer. Bread was brought over immediately and it was made in house, as was the garlic herb butter that came with it, so buttery soft and delicious! I was interested in many things but ultimately Emin made me a combination plate and it had salmon, beef, chicken and Koobidah and much more! Salmon was cooked perfect, everything was! I thought the beef was extremely tender and it had a great charbroil on it. The Koobidah had amazing flavors and the spice was perfection!
