I generally don't like to post bad reviews, but I'm actually pretty disappointed in this place. We placed this order via grubhub and ordered the Trio Plate, Feta Cheese appetizer, and fries. Our food tasted like it went bad? My boyfriend and I immediately spit out the steak kabob on taking our first bites. The feta cheese smelled way too pungent for a normal feta you'd get at other restaurants, super markets, or farmer's markets. In all: the steak tasted like it was going bad, the fries tasted old, and the feta smelled way funkier than what one would expect of feta. The chicken and kefta kabobs tasted good, as did the rice and salad. I thought the hummus tasted fine but my boyfriend said it tasted a bit sour. It's pretty disappointing given that we splurged to get this order via Grubhub and basically spent $80 in total for food that tastes bad. read more

My friends and I were looking for Mediterranean food and came across Mezzaterranean near West Covina. Decided to give it a try, and we're so glad we did! I ordered the chicken shawarma plate to go, it came out in about 10 mins. The rice was super fragrant, fluffy, and not too greasy ( which I feel that's how some places make it). The chicken was perfectly seasoned, flavorful, juicy. The salad was crisp and refreshing, and the house made hummus was seriously good (smooth, creamy, and had that nice garlicky kick with a bit of tang). The interior is really clean, spacious, plenty of eating for 2 or more groups and nicely decorated. We also grabbed a piece of baklava, and it was delicious ; crispy layers, not too sweet, & the filling had a nice nutty flavor without being overly sticky. read more

Food was good and prepared in very timely manner. Rice was soft and flavorful, schwarma not bad. My sides were rice, hummus, and tzatziki sauce (costs a couple dollars extra to replace it from the salad). I enjoyed the food, however I wish they put more rice... the container was not packed and the rice was maybe at the mid point line of the small to go box, a thinner layer than what I'm used to. I normally have more leftovers too compared to other Mediterranean places. The portion could be better for the price point, but overall the food was good and worth a try. read more

Purchased Mezzaterranean for lunch a few days ago for take-out and wondering if I went on an off day or not. Kefta Kebab Plate ($17.99): Two small ground beef kebabs served on a bed of rice with a side of hummus, Mezzaterranean salad, and pita bread. One of our kefta orders was fairly burnt so we had to spend time shaving off the burnt bits. The meat was a tad dry and needed the garlic dip to help enhance the flavors. Purchased a side of beef shawarma on the side with the same dry-ish flavors and not very tender. Hummus and tzatziki were standard. Perhaps I need to give this place another try, but even portions were just okay compared to other Mediterranean eateries at the same price point. read more

It's really good food when it's open, the last 3 times I went there were either closed for the day even though operating outa showed open or closed early. Like way early. Almost 1hr- 30 min earlier than there hours. But if you can find them open there two person meal is a good deal. Met a girlfriend here for lunch yesterday. We couldn't figure out what we wanted to eat, so I looked on yelp as we both like Mediterranean food. I'm so glad I found this place! We both ordered the Chicken Kebab Plate. OMG!! Everything was incredible! The chicken was juicy and tender, the rice was delicious, the hummus was incredible, and the salad was great. The pita bread was really good. It wasn't soft and thick like I'm used to. It was thinner and tasted homemade. The man who took our order (might have been the owner) was very nice. He told us to ask for more pita bread when we were ready, as they don't like it to get cold. Of course, we did ask for more pita bread. I can't wait to go back and try something else. What a fantastic place to eat. In a small strip mall but a large space. The service was friendly and accommodating. Made sure we were satisfied and offered extras. My coworker and I both had lentil soup that tasted amazing with plenty of ingredients that was not skimpy. Served extra fresh and hot. The sandwich was top tier with plenty of ingredients to make it full and satisfying. The falafels inside were vegan which had a nice crispy not too fluffy. Offered us hot sauce and wow that was perfect amount of heat. You can really taste the ingredients in the food which is very refreshing not to have sauce cover the flavor. First visit and left very disappointed. I was meeting my wife for lunch and arrived about 5 minutes ahead of her. There was a chime on the front door, so the staff should have been alerted to my entrance. I stood by the order counter and took a couple photos for this review, then sat down at a table directly in front of the counter/cash register. No one came out to greet me or ask me if I was ready to order. Once my wife arrived, we stood there looking at the menu, then finally had to ring a bell to get someone to come out of the back and wait on us. The menu boards have no prices, so we had to look at a "to go" menu to figure out what was what. The staff was not very friendly, and later we saw a woman who was sitting at one of the tables, with a friend, get up and go behind the counter and take someone else's order. Was she an employee/management and just ignored us when we came in? FOOD: My wife initially tried to order the Beef Kebab Plate ($17.99), and was told they were out of beef (and this was at noon, lunchtime). She ended up getting the Lamb Kebab Plate ($20.99), and I ordered the Chicken Kebab Plate ($15.99), and two cans of soda. Both kebab plates were served with rice, hummus, Mezzaterranean salad, and warm pita bread. We waited 30 minutes from ordering to delivery at our table. There was only one other couple who had ordered before we arrived and were waiting on their food. A man came in after us, and received his food about 10 minutes before us. We had also ordered a "to go" item, the Feta Cheese Cold Mezza ($9.99), which was served with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, and drizzled with olive oil. Both kebabs were a little on the dry side, and not too flavorful, but we did enjoy the fetta cheese mezza later that evening. Unfortunately, I don't think we'd visit again, as it wasn't a very good experience, and the food was mediocre at best. Really delicious Mediterranean place! I love that it's next to Porto's. I got the trio, and while it was a bit expensive ($32), it definitely filled up two people. The meat flavor was good, quality of meat was good, rice was super fluffy, and the salad/hummus was yummy too. I also got the Armenian sausage appetizer and that was really unique and flavorful. Lots of seating indoors, which is greatly appreciated. I'd definitely come back, the only thing that makes me hesitate is the price range. read more

I came in for a quick lunch because I had heard good things about this restaurant . When I approached the counter to choose from the wall mounted menu, there were no prices listed, so when the guy asked me what I wanted, I asked why no prices were listed? He says, here and slides a nasty, wrinkled, laminated menu across the counter, then rudely walks off and disappears to the back room somewhere. I tried this place a couple of times, I've tried the beef kebab, chicken shawarma, and chicken kebab plate. I'd highly recommend putting your order in by calling or online order, it takes quite a while for one plate. Personally, for the price, the amount of food isn't a lot. I like a lot of sides with my food but all the sides such as the pickled radishes you have to buy separately. It's a quick fix for when you're craving Mediterranean. read more

Food: The food was very presentable. It looked clean and well organized. What it lacked was a bit of savory flavor to the lule. The texture is also a bit grainier than I'd like. I think it was well made and though it wasn't the flavor I was looking for I think many people would enjoy this. Overall it tasted fairly healthy. A hidden gem. From the outside you would never expect what it would look inside! Itnwas very beautifully organized and clean. Spacious and descently spread out. Perfect during this crazy pandemic. I was craving Mediterranean food and saw that this location was only a 5 minute drive from my school. The building is large and spacious inside. Very clean and the gentleman that helped me was very nice and polite. I ordered a chicken kebab wrap. I asked for my food to be a to-go order and it wasn't until I got back to school that I realized I was given the incorrect order. I received a beef schwarma wrap instead of the chicken kebab I payed for. At that point, I was extremely hungry so I just ate it. The size of the wrap is quite small for the price, but that's most places nowadays due to inflation. Pita was on the drier side and I did feel that the wrap was too saucy. Some things are not on the online menu, such as the tzatziki sauce. We had ordered to go pick up through DoorDash and had to call the restaurant to add it to the order. They were kind enough to add it "free this time" to the order. However, when we received the lunches, the garlic sauce we had ordered wasn't there. So I guess they substituted the paid garlic sauce with the "free" tzatziki! Our chicken kebabs were pretty moist and tender, and the hummus was also smooth. The rice pilaf was slightly mushy. I really wish that the places around Covina and Glendora would put out for basmati rice, like my favorite Massis Kabob restaurants. Their chicken shawarma is juicy and piled on top of rice; the platter came with a side of their house salad with hummus drizzled with olive oil. The salad was fresh and the hummus was creamy. No toum (garlic paste) was given with the platter but a piece of pita bread came with it. The mulberry drink was good, not too sweet. The soujuk sandwich came with tomatoes, pickles, garlic spread and hummus wrapped together in a pita bread. My brother liked it, it was spicy enough for him. Service was great - food came out at a reasonable pace despite us being such a large group, quickly corrected a wrong order, and they very kindly offered us some extra drinks and coffee to end our meal.
