Throughout our stay, we visited several places, and always counted on GRAB to get us to where we needed to go. The best thing about GRAB is that we didn't have too long to wait each time. There always seemed to be someone nearby. Every single driver we had was very polite and helpful. And each vehicle was nice and clean. Once, when we were in Mall of Asia, we thought we'd take a taxi instead. One taxi driver didn't want to take us to BGC. Another one wanter to charge us a much higher fare than what GRAB would charge. Lesson learned: ALWAYS use GRAB. We can track where the GRAB driver is coming from, we can share our location while in the vehicle, we have information about who the driver is, and we can provide feedback. There's no reason to use anything else other than GRAB when in Manila.

I join "Grab" last year and last everything went fine. This 2024 when I uploaded my US base credit card I was told that I could use the US base credit card on the platform. So I started going to 7/11 to upload funds to use "Grab". Then "Grab" blocked that as well. If you're traveling to the "Metro Manila" just be aware that "Grab" is for the Filipino "only".

We've had problems booking rides during pay days, holidays, fiestas, rush hour traffic, and when it rains or when there are street closures in your area. I gave an extra star just because it's a better alternative than taking a regular taxi in Manila. Note to Grab Management. You should fine your drivers who book a ride then decide to cancel for no apparent or unexplained reason.

They say it's one of the biggest taxi booking apps in the world. I downloaded it on my smartphone, and hailed a taxi using that. When I tried it, they did not have a booking fee and I didn't even declare a tip. I got a taxi in 3 minutes. The driver was very nice and the taxi was quiet new. I like that the app makes a sound once a cab is assigned so I can minimize it and work on other things on my phone while waiting. Here's what I really love about them, the first time and the second time I used the app to get a cab, someone from their call center called me to check if I'm in the cab and happy about the service. This shows how good their customer service is and if I do get into any trouble with their drivers, I can call them to complain. Plus, they have promos more often which means you don't need to pay the booking fee (which is only P50 compared to Grab Taxi's P70) on top of the metered fare. Giving a tip to the driver is entirely up to you.

And they are both very, very, very good to use in a pinch if the line in the taxi bay is insane, like it normally is on weekday nights. If I were to think about the small things that makes them different, well, Easy doesn't have that particular car-rental service that Grab has, but that doesn't really detract from my experience since I don't use those services. And Easy's booking fee is only P50 compared to Grab's P70. Both have regular zero-fee promos that are there very often, however, I notice that they normally don't happen at the same time. A savvy consumer would keep both on their phone and check out which one is free at the time. Easy Taxi is a great, albeit not exactly unique app, that should probably be on everyone's phone.

PROS: It's interesting because this mall is the center of all PUV actions from central to north Manila and, aside from pedicabs and calesas, they have stops for every single type of PUV used in the metro - buses, jeeps, vans, cabs, and even tricycles. Take your pick and hop on to wherever you need to go. It's right in front of the mall along EDSA. CONS: So it's right along EDSA and it actually takes up may a couple or even three lanes from the highway just because they decided to have this bus and other transport bays. Traffic gets really heavy in a bottleneck when approaching this section; If I'm commuting and taking the bus, it bothers me a lot that the buses do not stop honking despite the signs that says no honking. It's an excess of noise pollution, plus it's not going to make people ride that bus. I don't care if you press your horn as much as you can, bus driver, but if I'm not going to UE Letre why should I take your bus?; Traffic enforcers are basically powerless in this area; For jeeps and vans, lines could take forever. TL;DR: SM's transport bays are pretty accessible, but it has a lot of negatives that cancels out its usefulness. It could've been planned better.

Because all the taxis that stop here are willing to take the passengers to the south. That means they're willing to brave south traffic and the SLEX or the Skyway. For those who don't really line up here, don't get mad if you see senior citizens or pregnant women getting a taxi before you. There's an unwritten rule that for every three regular passengers, a senior citizen or pregnant women gets a taxi too.

Unlike the other taxi stands, this one always has a guard and he makes sure everyone gets a taxi. Sure, there are days when I have to wait for more than thirty minutes for a taxi to come. The station is named Araneta Center-Cubao because it is connected to one of the most recognizable and popular landmarks for events that happen in Manila: Araneta Center Complex. Around Araneta Center are shopping malls like Gateway Mall (connected to Araneta), Ali Mall (said to made because of Muhammad Ali after 'Thrilla in Manila' happened), Shopwise, and Farmers Plaza. Of course, the main reason people go here is for Smart Araneta Coliseum. Ever since I was in college, this was were I would be for UAAP basketball games and concerts! Taking the MRT/LRT to Araneta Center was the fastest and most convenient way to get to these events. Plus, you didn't have to worry about traffic and parking. Since the location is right in the middle of Cubao area, Araneta Center-Cubao station is transportation depot for buses, taxis, and jeepneys. As with all MRT/LRT Stations, try not to go during the peak, rush hour time (yes, I know, peak hours here are ALL hours!). Also, be more aware of your surroundings and the stuff you are bringing with you. Better to be safe than sorry!
