The Colombian bacon is worth the 1.5hr drive alone! The rice and beans were some of the best I've tried. The coffee is individually made (think coffee shop but better, so no free refills). So two people ate breakfast and the bill was close to $100 with tip (only due to $50 worth of coffee and fancy milk, yeah we were kind of shocked too). We are on the newer side of trying South American foods and I guess that culture doesn't avg 6 refills of beverages for each meal. I do so next time I'll get it to go instead. The restaurant looked clean, staff was nice and attentive (they have some English speaking staff too). This isn't a first date restaurant more of a place for family, friends and co-workers. The coffee was being made in a beautiful tall copper looking structure. Best coffee in the area, no contest. 10/10. 2. The Colombian rolls that are on the counter were out of this world. They're filled with like a cream cheese / jelly, and bacon I think? If was like a sweet and savory bread/donut stuffed with even more goodness. 11/10. 3. Beef Empanada - so juicy and tasty. 9/10. 4. A local gem - Lovely restaurant that's easy to miss from the street for great Columbian/Latin food. We moved from the tri-state NY area a few years ago and miss the authenticity of many latin restaurants. This was def a great find. This is legit Colombian food. I come here because they have so many favorites: empanadas, bandeja paisa, maduros, jugo de lulo, sancocho. The service over the phone or by waiter is impeccable, and the restaurant is decorated in bright colors that remind me of the little restaurants you find along the road in Colombia. Massive portions I visited Mi Pais because a Colombian friend highly recommended it and concluded it is fantastic! 100% worth it. I ordered the Cazuelita Mi Pais. I was tired and desired something simple for my palette - so rice, beans, meat, and sweet plantain it was. The service was excellent and rapid despite that being a large group. As soon as the orders arrived, I was shocked by the portion sizes. 2-3 people can eat one plate, so be cautious when ordering several plates. You will take food home for sure. We got take out from here and it was very good. We got one of each empanada and liked the Columbian style ones and the Hawaiian one. The Argentina style ones are bigger but the shell is thicker and tougher. We also tried the cazuelita mi pais, which is a combo with steak, bacon, and chorizo. It comes with rice, beans, and sweet plantains. This was a nice way to try some of their different items. This place is located in a plaza with their own parking lot. I would definitely recommend this place for their empanadas! I also want to go back to try their daily lunch specials. read more

We got told about these empanadas by so many people when we were traveling for work. We tried quite a few things before our empanadas. We got sweet plantains, yuca fries, passion fruit juice with milk, chorizo arepa, bacon arepa, a breakfast arepa, and an arepa with cheese and beef. It was all great. I liked the bigger arepa (beef and cheese) more than the ones on the appetizer menu. We tried one of each empanada and they were the best I've ever had. They were all great. My favorites were the Columbian cheese, the Hawaiian, and the Argentinian beef. The service was incredibly friendly with good recommendations. Story time. A family member brought me here and I was instantly in love with the food. We had to come back, it became a treat to look forward to. Then, while traveling, I saw an empanada place, was missing Mi País, so decided to have lunch there. Ugh. No where near as good. Wow, this has to be my favorite restaurant in the area! Everything is delicious, portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and service is great! I've been there a handful of times, both dining in and takeout. They have a number of different types of empanadas, including some gluten-free ones. When I dined in with friends, I ordered the cazuelita, a stew-type dish with chopped up beef, bacon, and chorizo, among other ingredients. Great dish that I will probably order again! Best place for empanadas and Colombian comfort food on the Main Line. Have ordered takeout a few times over quarantine, and the food always comes out very tasty (and affordable). Definitely recommend for takeout, but probably wouldn't feel safe eating inside - more details below. How to order: Calling in advance is likely your best bet - though over the weekends, try calling earlier in the afternoon (especially when making orders for a busy lunch period). I once called around 12:30pm but they mentioned they wouldn't have my order ready until ~1:30. How they're handling takeout / indoor dining: They have a table set up right when you walk in to pay for takeout. However, inside, I felt like the tables could have been separated a bit more. During lunch periods, the inside of the restaurant feels a bit too crowded for me to be comfortable, since most tables had customers seated. Servers are all in masks and very friendly! Food: We almost always get the Bandeja Mi Pais - comes with a bunch of meats (steak, chorizo, Colombian bacon), beans, rice, plantains - a great assortment, and generally large portion sizes. We also like ordering any of their empanadas and arepas (though arepas are a bit more on the greasy side). Overall: 5/5 - My go-to still for empanadas and Colombian food! Unless you get just a few drops on your food, it can kill you. As a vegetarian. Not a lot of options. I had their arepa and their yucca. Liked it well enough to take an arepa to go.
