The majority of clothes on stock are made for the larger sized male. The price is not reflective of the quality of ugly baroque patterned shirts and white suit combinations. So I couldn't think of a good reason why you would want to go out of your way to visit this rather poorly organized store. Stick to the more mundane mall stores where at least you are guaranteed service.

I've also been in here with someone who did want to buy men's clothes, and again, the owner was very gracious and helpful. This is the sort of clothes shop where everything is good quality; most of it isn't absolutely cutting-edge fashion, but if you dressed exclusively from here, you'd be bound to be classically well turned out all the time. They can also tailor clothes here as well, and I'd bet that they do a good job at that too. I wish there were woman's clothes shops that were more like this place.

So imagine how I felt when I walked into Workshop and saw them there, side by side, getting touched by other women! I am, of course, referring to misters Wang and Jacobs respectably. And it's not so much them I'm in love with, it's the beautiful clothes and accessories they make and Workshop happen to sell some beautiful current season lines from both them and other hip designers such as APC and Hudson. Although they only have small sections for each designer, the stuff they have is gorgeous. I particularly love their selection of Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags and purses. It's a really spacious store as well, with lots of light. I love the fact that the rails all hang from the ceiling too, it really gives the whole place a very upmarket boutiquey feel. My only issue with this store is the staff. I guess it's just typical designer store snobbery for them not to say hello or any assistance to those they just see as browsers, but it grates on me all the same.

Mum and I have come here a number of times to get our shoes repaired. They always do a wonderful job and best of all its cheap! There are so many shoe repair stores that rip you off!! The only down fall I have with this place is that it isn't located conveniently to me. As it's in a direction I never go in, sometimes it's easier to go elsewhere due to convenience. However when I needed to get two pair of boots fixed, I made the journey to come here as I knew I wasn't going to be charged an arm and a leg, also I would be happy with the result. If you have the time to drive to Royal Oak to drop your boots in, I would totally recommend coming to Royal Oak Shoe Repairs & Keys. You won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, everything is extremely pricey, so despite being flawed by that dress or ornament, you'd need to be making quite a lot of cash in order to buy it. Still, I enjoy having a squiz at their collection on a lazy Saturday morning or during Midnight Madness each year.

They have an absolutely drool-worthy children's section in the front corner opposite the door, filled with, well, really girly stuff mostly - Flower Fairies merchandise, from cups and stickers, to party ware and gifts, features strongly. Big love. The giftware and homeware in the rest of the front section of the ship is tasteful but edging towards the pricier side. Then right at the back of the shop they have a rather surprising women's clothing section. It's mother-of-the-bride-who-is-quite-wealthy type stuff, and some other formal pieces with hefty price tags. I could probably find something I liked there, but I get that dreaded feeling that I would get home, put it on, and feel instantly 20 years older.

And designer. Covet doesn't just stock any old secondhand clothing or accessories. No, Covet only stocks quality items that are in good condition, and many of the garments and footwear I looked at were by big names - Trelise Cooper, Mi Piaci, Jeffrey Campbell - there was no shitty Farmers clothes in this place! While the stock is undoubtedly lovely, the designer nature of the store does mean it is a bit pricey. Covet isn't a thrift shop - don't go there if you're hoping to pick up a new wardrobe on the cheap. But if you're after some designer bargains and an all-around nice shopping experience then Covet is a good place to start! Bonus: Taxidermy! There is some brilliant taxidermy in Covet. Though the thought of it kind of freaks me out, the little rabbits and deer that are in Covet really add to the eclectic, pretty nature of the store. And the peacock by the counter is amazing. The store sells on behalf of artists, crafters, jewellery-makers and people who have cleared out the wardrobes to make room for more. Some of it's brand new and some of it isn't, but everything is in excellent condition. The atmosphere is more boutique than second hand, with one side of the shop displaying hanging garments, and the other side housing a ceiling-high bookshelf with all manner of arts, crafts, ornaments and other bric a brac. Definitely worth a browse when you're next in the area, you might just bag a bargain.
