Brought the kiddos here to find some books and stretch their legs a bit (pro tip - there is a playground behind the library). This is one of the closest branches and the building is relatively new. We also found the staff to be nice as well. One thing that was a bit of a letdown is that the library is pretty small and the kids section is tiny. There is a small play area with the books, but it is very bare bones. It is not very inviting, hey come and read some books and play with the kids, make an afternoon of it vibe. read more

I thought Libraries were suppose to be quiet. Not Kendall Lakes. It's crazy how loud it is. Kids can even roller skate while parents are loudly socializing and not paying attention to the kids. Birthday parties, dancing, kids screaming and crying and on and on it goes. Brand new babies crying and lets not forget the criminals that love to hang at the park watching the kids. Nice library with helpful staff. It just sucks how people have forgotten how to act in libraries and have no regards for others around them. Libraries are meant to be a quiet place for people to work or study. However, people take calls in the library or have full blown conversations with each other loudly. The noise from the events the host also spill out into the library making it hard to focus. I wish there was a dedicated space for silence or at least staff reminding people how to act in a library. Make sure to bring noise-canceling headphones if you want to concentrate. There's also a bit of an ant problem and a leaky roof. read more

I originally started coming here for toddler story time. My son and I would meet with a couple of friends for some dancing, singing and book reading. They have a nice little corner to keep kids busy, not that my lil adventurous child stays there long but it still helps some. It's always clean and quiet (not too quiet when our children are there). We also enjoy playground behind the building. It even has a lil walkway around the park, perfect for a lil jog. read more

Free tutoring on a Saturday!!! What that's freaking amazing and of course its FREE!! My daughter is struggling in math but, thanks to the Kendale Lakes tutors she is now excelling. I love this branch. They are very friendly and helpful. I love going on Saturdays because, I get to see Coco the fluffy little white dog. All in all, EXCELLENT staff! read more

Miami dade public Libraries have a great online system and I love to order what I need from home and then go and get it at the library close my house. This particular one it's always clean and well organized. The personnel is always willing to help you in Spanish or English. The offer different services and activities for all ages. They even have legal help from a layer's office to assist you with your citizenship test. They are open late some days and on Saturdays, very convenient! read more

It is a fairly quiet, safe location. But the staff was so unhelpful to almost nearly rude. I asked for directions on how to use the scanner with a USB card. The inlet is hard to find and there are no arrows or instructions on the machine. It's not something one is expected to know. I asked one of the employees and he gave me very vague directions to say the least. Didn't find it. Went back and asked again. More vague directions. Looked again. Asked one more time. More vague directions. I finally found the inlet and figured it out on my own, but time is precious. He was sitting at a desk at a maximum of 5-6 steps from the machine. It would have taken him 30 seconds to show me and save me 10 minutes of struggle. But nope. Vague, unclear directions is all you will get. What was he doing that was too important to leave? He was watching youtube videos on his work desk computer. If you get paid to sit there and watch youtube videos, can you at least help customers when they need it? Then I found out the machine only accepts small dollar bills and no credit cards. I only had a $100 bill, so I asked him if he had smaller bills. He said he could not help. Fair. I politely asked another employee sitting at another desk who was unaware of this interaction. She was very rude for no reason. She told me "We don't change bills. Go to the gas station" in a very brusque, bothered tone. It's just unbelievable that these people are allowed to be so lazy an rude. UPDATE: After this employee saw my review he had one of his friend send me messages full of profanity and insults. I will report this to the library administration. Love this location. They offer many activities for the kiddos. Behind the library is a big park with a play ground. The building is always clean. Employees always greet you with a smile and are eager to help in any way they can. Besides having books (It is a library) you must visit during the holidays when they have their Christmas light spectacular. The library surrounding areas and park are all decorated beautiful with Christmas lights and ornaments. read more

Story time entertains the for kids for a bit. They have different times for different ages. I wish that they would include some arts and crafts activities or any other sort of interactive experience. The book readings are ok, the dancing is fun, but I wish there was more to it as it is very repetitive,specially for those of us who attend regularly. The readers they have at this location are not the friendliest with the kids, I have noticed. I feel that the program has potential, but it isn't executed as it should. One of the readers even speaks in slang when reading, example: "axks" instead of ask.... With that I say it all. It's ok, but there is much room for Improvement. read more

Clean library with several computers and tons of books available! All of their Staff is very friendly! I highly recommend the museum passes as you can visit several Miami attractions for free and even take 3 additional guests. I love how I can reserve books and pick up when ready at the library at no additional cost. You can even request a book they don't currently have in their system and they might order it for you! read more

This is truly a great library. They have everything a library could have, and great customer service. Also, they offer a variety of classes like yoga and chess . Quiet, clean and convenient. Aaand obviously, if you live in Miami Dade, you can get a library card and rent computers, video games, movies, books!!!
