My friend who has been living in Paris gave me some tips the other day on how to be a Parisian in Manila. She gave me a checklist using her haughtiest voice- "First, be a snob. Think that you're better than everyone else. Secondly, wear red. It creates attention and makes your skin tone look luminous (Not for morenas ladies!) and lastly, dab on perfume. Dab it throughout the day and splash it all over your room. It doesn't have to be French perfume, just make sure it smells like Paris" My initial reaction was -Mon Dieu! Ooh la la! Nicole Papa! Admittedly, I never dreamed of being a Parisian, nor did I dream of being one, I did take her 3rd advice into consideration though- to make my room smell like Paris, specifically, pastries from this city.
