I'll try to keep my personal opinions out of this, but I used Mike Kraiza for a real estate transaction, and it wasn't a very good experience. First of all, his office "doesn't do email" so everything had to be faxed. Since nobody else uses faxes anymore, I became the go-between, receiving emails from the other parties - then I had to print everything and go to a UPS store to find a fax machine. When calling his office, I never got through to anyone on Friday. Even Mon-Thurs, when his assistant would pick up, it would take several days to hear back from him about anything. Of course the process was dragged out, then Kraiza charged me more than quoted because it took longer than expected. read more

Used this attorney twice, on one occasion I withdrew my case but on the second occasion I went through with my case and found the attorney to be very knowledgeable. However, I found him to be impatient with my questions yet I tolerated it because he came highly recommended by family. I figured maybe I was asking stupid questions and he simply became annoyed. Had me fill out all kinds of papers for court which I half understood but he never personally looked over the forms only to find out prior to court they were incomplete. Communicated poorly with me by not confirming court date and I ended up a no show at court damaging my case. I felt somewhat intimidated and incompetent however that's why I hired an attorney because I needed guidance on the situation. read more

if you can find another attorney, do so besides this office in this lawyer. They'll take a slam dunk case from you, make you feel inferior cut you off and demand that you explain your case in a way that is palatable for him. His office staff is great, however they do not use text messages email nor fax. In other words there is no correspondence other than you calling them or them calling you when they need something $10,000 for a divorce case that was a slam dunk and was not any more Singular court appearance, as I recall. he comes across as an extreme no at all because he has bench fever as he is the judge for Marlborough New York for many years now. Real power trip. He's a bright person and knows the law but if you have any emotional scarring or pain this guy is like gasoline on a fire. I promptly wrote him, his office, a check, for the formerly mentioned amount, but have since ran into legal trouble involving My Daughter and I made several calls to his office each time he's in court or he's away or he's on vacation and I finally left word on voicemail , that I was moving on, which I have, and thank you for the follow up. well so much for building a relationship with an attorney, it is impossible with this person in my opinion. I still have yet to receive one copy of any court documents or paperwork. Other than a divorce decree in which there is a stack of which I submitted to them including police reports on individuals, and all that have received zero other than that, no nothing just the divorce decree, I don't know what $10,000 was for other than just a random number he threw at me in the beginning of the process. How did he know that it would be that much at the end how long it would take and how many billable hours there would be I know it wasn't on the phone with Me or mailing correspondence to me or faxing or typing emails on my behalf that's for sure what's left? This is a loss and it is certainly to be avoided. It was appointed to me by the Hudson Valley legal Society. and I was told directly by him during the discovery and interview process. I would call it of what my circumstances and the history coming into this divorce where, which was quite complicated and had many layers. I'll admit what divorce case doesn't. I was told several occasions that if I interrupt him again, or if I talk about anything other than what he wants to hear and answers, that he was going to walk out on this. Please do yourself a favor, pass this along and avoid. read more
