I am very grateful for Ms. Van Cott's help with my legal issues, she's very professional, caring…read moreand protected my rights. I would highly recommend her to anyone and use her services again. Thank you Ms. Van Cott.

Not sure how this attorney got so many positive reviews, based on my experience with her.....but…read morethe reviews convinced me that this was the law firm for me... However, I now see that she is oblivious to many facets of my case, relied heavily on paralegals, some of whom were very knowledgeable about my case, then disappeared without warning, at which time, Ms Van Cott, or her current helper, would then have to "review my case" ($$$$) and start all over. I would get silence for weeks then, when I inquired about my case, they charged me for that AND their response, which was NEVER a complete answer, usually "I will try to find out"...then nothing. She either ignored or failed to see many questions, answers, even documents, I supplied. When I did get answers, I never knew who answered: the attorney, a paralegal (who mysteriously disappeared), or AI. She promised a "team" would be working on my case, but was always changing the (one!) person working on my case, then charged me again to explain my case to the new paralegal...charging extra for "reviewing" the case. NO one EVER knew what was going on with my case on a continual basis. A year of promising to get me into the marital residence, per the TDO, to get my personal property and she still hasn't accomplished it, in fact, does not seem to know how to function against a non-compliant spouse....also fails to file motions of contempt. Took weeks to months to draft a single letter (written with unprofessional verbage, punctuation, etc). She repeatedly refused to schedule the mediation that the judge ordered over a year ago. Would promise to do one thing, I'd agree....but she would never follow thru with it, then promise another and fail at that. Asked me to provide several years worth of paperwork/statements only 2 days prior to a hearing in which she needed it (had led me to believe prior to that that she had everything she needed from my previous attorney)! Emailed ME to ask ME what to do...like they didn't have a clue what to do...then didn't do what we decided on. She also denied being able to claim equity that other attorneys say I can claim. Finally, she claimed that my case was "complicated" (no minor children, no retirement accounts left, two residences, one already sold). She apparently means that she is not equipped to handle a narcissistic-type opponent, so please BEWARE!!

We retained Salcedo & Co. (now Salcedo & Associates) following the death of our father and paid a…read more$5,000 retainer on February 26, 2025, to assist our family with the probate process. Our initial consultation was with Isidro Salcedo, who came across as knowledgeable, competent, and reassuring. During that consultation, we were given the impression that the probate process would move forward without unnecessary delays and that our family would be guided through the process. Unfortunately, our experience after retaining the firm did not reflect those expectations. Throughout the probate matter, our case was handled by three different attorneys. The repeated changes in representation created confusion, required us to reestablish communication multiple times, and made it difficult to feel confident that there was continuity in the handling of our father's estate. Communication was a recurring concern. We often found ourselves seeking updates rather than receiving them proactively, and there were periods where it was unclear what progress had been made or what remained outstanding. During a time when our family was grieving the loss of a parent, this added unnecessary frustration to an already difficult process. Our father's probate matter concluded on June 25, 2026. However, despite the probate being completed, we still have not received the final closing documents. Given that more than sixteen months have passed since we paid the retainer, this has been especially disappointing. We understand that probate matters can be complex and that delays sometimes occur. However, for a matter that began with assurances of a smooth process, the lack of continuity, communication challenges, and the fact that we are still waiting for closing documentation have left our family dissatisfied with the overall experience. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this firm for probate services. Families navigating the loss of a loved one deserve consistent representation, clear communication, and timely follow-through. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.
