The Sumac salmon was especially a hit.  Interactions with Jason and Tanya were pleasant, timely and professional. Everything was lukewarm if not cold. All we had for main course was a lasagna, chicken cacciatore on rice, a bit of salad with small tomatoes, cucumber, etc. Garlic bread was cold and hard, no pops or even water. We had tea (probably at the request by some) only after the meal. The little 1" square pastries and huge cookies were most probably bought at the supermarket. They were all so, so sweet. No really, a lot of people had the same comment. Maybe that was the selection those responsible for that disaster chose for the price. I really don't know. But according to the previous reviews, they weren't being honest or we're the ones missing the boat. Anyway, I am so sorry to have to take the time but only you must know how bad that dinner was. We even had a snack at home before going to bed. That's how bad it was. Sorry. Someone has to let you know.

It consisted of a big chunk of salmon which was a bit dry. I think it continues to cook when they put the cover on it. It was smothered with a tasty white sauce. The basmati rice was undercooked and the broccoli was mushy. There was a salad with a vinaigrette. My colleague thought it was a bit too vinegar forward but I'm not complaining. The chocolate cake was the star of the meal. Sooo moist and not overly sweet which I appreciated. Overall it was a tasty meal but I had to use the salt and pepper packet.

We got the signature pulled pork and premium pork ribs. For sides, we got the tater tots, pasta salad, and corn bread. Both the pulled pork and pork ribs were very tender. The tater tots and corn bread were good. I was very surprised with the pasta salad which was made with elbow macaroni, and red onions. It was delicious! One of the best pasta salads I have had for a while.

I did the takeout and chose beef brisket and a pulled pork sandwich and they were amazing. I like that they pay attention to every detail. Everything is top notch from the buns they use on the sandwich to the salads, coleslaws and fresh cut fries. No sloppy sides here. I hear the onion rings are to die for. Another thing I liked about this place is everything isn't drowning in barbecue sauce. It's so hard to get pulled pork that isn't swimming in sauce. They just put a little bit on the bun which was perfect. You actually got to taste the meat and as you'd expect, the sauce itself was ridiculously good.

They do have 4 tables of 2, so can technically seat 8, but the place gets really crowded with people ordering takeout, so unless you don't mind people milling about like 4 inches away from you, you may want to take it to go as well. Even though it was super busy, staff were well organized and very pleasant. The wait was a little bit long, but I got something made to order. They have a "grab and go" section with premade sandwiches, salads and snacks, so if you're in a rush you can get those. I got the Jerk Chicken Wrap Combo ($10.95), which came with fries and coleslaw. The wrap had jerk chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese in it. It usually has mayonnaise, but I asked them to hold the mayo. The jerk sauce had a spicy kick to it. The chicken was lean pieces of breast meat, which I liked. I thought the wrap would be served hot, but it was cold. It was a good size and on its own I think would make a satisfying lunch. However, I'm glad I got the combo because the fries were great. They were like chip wagon fries. Very hot and well done. The coleslaw was vinegar based and a bit sour for my tastes, but I was happy that it wasn't mayo based. You get a good serving of fries and coleslaw in the combo. I liked that no styrofoam was used. The wrap was wrapped in paper and the fries came in a cardboard container. The coleslaw came in a plastic container. Overall, a great place to grab lunch if you're in the area. I'm a big eater and the combo was actually too much food for me; I had leftovers (not complaining). Just parking is a pain.

Went out to see the facility and talk thru the menu and other points. They are tucked away in an industrial park. It's an industrial kitchen and the décor is what you would expect. Met with Christine who is absolutely wonderful! She helped us identify a few details we might have missed and made some great suggestions on the food - all while keeping in mind we have a budget to stay within. Since they also serve breakfast and lunch Monday to Friday - mostly for the workers from other businesses around them, we ordered lunch while we were there. I had a grilled pulled pork and carmelized onion which was great! It was however over-shadowed by the daily special, a Brie Burger, which went beyond great to amazing! Also tried the poutine - which had a thinner than usual gravy so I had to mix it a bit - but very flavourful. Last but not least, we took Nanimo Bars to go and had them later in the day with coffee at home. Perfect. Straight Nanimo Bars with traditioinal ingredients just like mom used to make. So happy the folks at Grenfell know when *not* to mess with perfection. :-) So: For Catering: Would I recommend: At this point yes, but proof is in the pudding and I'll know more in September.
