They have jewellery from local designers and do a good job of promoting this fact, with the pieces organised by who created them, and with a profile of the artist on display. I was particularly taken with some stuff by John Walters, who makes intricately detailed pop-culture icons out of silver. They also have a good range of goth stuff (skulls, scorpions, those weird pointy finger-armour things that Marilyn Manson wears sometimes) which didn't appeal to me but no doubt will to some people. The prices range, so although you'll pay quite a bit if you want a big piece, you can get smaller things like earrings for less than thirty bucks. The lady behind the counter was friendly, and was happy to let us try anything on if we wanted.

In sparkling glass cases and slim wooden drawers, Fingers displays the creative outputs of some very, very talented jewellers. From highly wearable rings, necklaces, brooches, and bracelets, to high-art pieces that would look equally good displayed on a wall at home as they would on a human body, Fingers has hands down the most exciting range of contemporary jewellery in town. If you are into quirky or tribal style jewellery you will definitely find it here, everything is displayed with similar styles so you can walk around the store, find what style suits you and then browse to your hearts content. Parking can be hard on Ponsonby Rd but there are street parks outside as well as some side roads nearby.

The highlight of this store for me is the Home Textiles Range, really vibrant and creative designs on Table cloths, Table Runners, Tea Towels, and Cushions too, all reflecting creativity, and culture, and it makes me remember that we are living in the largest pacific island city . I especially love the big stuffed kiwi made from old woolen blankets they have in at the moment. Or people overseas who you send gifts to that have a 'kiwi feel' to them. Is it tacky? Is it cute? I think it might be somewhere in between.

It's seems to have become much more mainstream. Still, it's definitely worth a look if you're after a nice present, especially for a housewarming or to send overseas, as lots of the stuff they sell is made and/or designed in New Zealand, which is cool. I wish they still had the incredible range of jewellery that they used to though, and would focus a bit less on kiwiana.

They had some cute stuff available, and I could imagine popping in here for a gift for someone else. However, one thing I will say is that the service is AMAZING. I went back to the Vault after finding the required present because I saw the Vault had a very good collection of gift cards. Because some of my present wasn't wrapped, I asked if I could buy some tissue paper from there with the card. The woman told me she couldn't sell me any, but would give me some. She gave me white tissue paper, pink tissue paper as well as ribbon. I was only buying a $6.50 card and she did all of that for me. What a gem.

The Silo Park markets only operate in the summer months - but this stall may be back next year... (I certainly hope so). Wolf Cub sell lots of amazing floral headpieces (handmade in Auckland), which are super pretty! Check out the facebook page for some photos. The prices varied from $38 - $42 for a full headband piece. There was also some other style headpieces for sale, as well as small flower clips - I purchased three of these gems for $5. Wolf Cub also make crystal jewellery. And because they are so awesome, they will even do custom orders. A perfect option for a wedding, the races, or just to look pretty.
