We had an uphill battle we couldn't compromise on, and needed a lawyer with maximum experience, network, skill, persistence, and availability. Worst experience of my life. I always took a witness and a notebook to each meeting. He charged a large fee upfront, and then kept calling me in for consultations, and would keep repeating things we had previously discussed. All along while running the clock on me and allowing the time to eat up my retainer. I fired him and hired a different attorney. There was no way I could stand by and allow that previous review to sum up this amazing man and law firm. I am a single mom of 4 children one of whom is not my own biologically. But for whatever reason God saw fit to add him to our family and we welcomed him with open arms. A short while back, he got in some trouble, although he had never been in trouble before, it was serious and I had no idea where to turn. One of my coworkers who worked for DJJ for some time stated if anything ever happened to him personally or one of his children he would call MJG. I didn't know who that was at the time but soon went on the firm's website and submitted a request for a free consultation. By the time I pressed the send button, my cell phone was ringing and it was their office. The office manager explained even though it was after 5 pm, due to the severity of the situation Mr Griffith was willing to stay after hours to meet with myself, my mom and my son regarding our case. Mr. Griffith himself sat with us for almost 2 hours gathering the basics and explaining the process all before even mentioning the retainer, cost or legal fees and this was brought up by me since I am on a very tight budget caring for my children alone. Every step of the way Mr Griffith and his staff kept us informed on all of the proceedings, made sure we understood all of our options and helped us pick the best choice for my son. The only time during this entire, nerve wrecking process that we had anyone in the courtroom with us other than Mr. Griffith himself was the time when his father was ill which was more than understandable. And to show the wealth of knowledge he has and how well he is respected by judges and his peers, the presiding judge asked Mr. Griffith his professional opinion on several other cases which he was not the appointed representative. However, because of his integrity and professionalism, he answered and provided legal help even though he was not paid for this assistance proving justice, equality and his work ethic mean more to him than money. His office worked very hard on our case and we always felt they were prepared prior to our court dates. He also spoke with us several times prior to each court date, by phone or in person, to assure we understood the proceedings and to answer all of our questions. Even after the conclusion of the proceedings, his staff followed up with our family to make sure everything we had agreed upon in court was actually what happened afterwards. He and his staff didn't just forget our names after the final judgment and even returned our phone calls to answer questions well after the conclusion of the proceedings. Mr. Griffith and his staff made a very difficult time for our family a lot easier than if we had attempted to go in alone or even with another local attorney. If it were not for Mr. Griffith, my son would probably be dead or in jail, yet he was given a second chance after a mistake could have ruined his life. Mr. Griffith saw the injustice of the situation and saw my son's character and heart and took our case. People like us don't get the option to have an attorney of his caliber. I am not sure why the previous reviewer had such a totally different experience than what my family, friends and coworkers have experienced. I will say, judge for yourself. **After you pay the hefty price for his legal counsel, you don't even get him! You may end up with his young blond bimbo of a 'partner'!!** I wish I could say the same about my experience with Mr. Griffith as the other reviewer, but the short time me and my husband experienced with him was nothing more than a joke. We made the mistake of paying the total amount upfront first of all. Not only could we not get in touch with him after that, we were put off on one of his young, female partners. It wouldn't have been that bad if the lady knew anything about our case before presenting our defense in front on the judge for a motion to dismiss. We attempted to get in touch with her to set up a appointment to discuss the facts after we found out that Mr. Griffith was not representing us during that day. We were assured that we would have an hour or so before the trial to go over the facts of that day. The facts in themselves would have proven our innocence. We waited outside of the courtroom for nearly an hour after the court started. Fearing we would get a failure to appear, we decided we had no choice but to go into the courtroom without an attorney and watch the door, hoping she would eventually show up. When she finally did, she sat away from us instead of consulting with us like we were promised. It was a complete joke. We eventually had to take a plea bargain which lead to probation. I imagine that because this was for a misdemeanor, the law firm didn't take it seriously. This was for something we truly were innocent of. If we were never put off on this lady and we were able to have the lawyer we paid $8000 for, the motion to dismiss would probably have been granted. On top of the retainer fee, you will also get billed for every fax, copy, scan, etc. that goes on during your case, including your receipts!! This cost us around $200 after everything was over with. If you pay for Mr. Griffith, you probably wont get him on your case. I am very displeased with my experience. read more
