Her staff is also very welcoming and thorough with checking with patients. I appreciate that Nurse Nora was very kind and even remembered us from the appt prior and made a comment to see how I was holding up. She also did the same to other patients. You don't see that a lot. We met under emergency circumstances. I had called Dr.Jans office to see if they could see me right away because I was pregnant and bleeding heavily and informed them of a possible miscarriage. They were able to get me in right away. My other half and I were in absolute tears we knew our situation wasn't ideal. Dr. Jan's knowledge and ease and helping us get through this situation made me feel so at ease. Although I had to do an emergency D n C procedure I appreciated her professionalism and grace in how she was able to handle and control the situation. I was very nervous and through out the whole process she talked me through everything before she did it and most of all remained calm. I honestly feel like that day she saved me life. Her words of wisdom that day as well as on our follow up after really helped our grieving process. It gave us hope. Although my pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I would like to say that I'm grateful I was able to be in such great hands. If your deciding or debating. Don't. I trust this doc with my life and hope to get on her wait list.

Throughout my pregnancy Dr Jan was very professional and my visits with her were quick. I made the mistake of mentioning that I was interested in having a home birth and she told me that if this was the route I wanted to go I would have to let her know right away because she would no longer accept me as a patient. My entire pregnancy I received dual care through Dr Jan and my midwife. Ultimately, it was going to be baby that would decide where she would be born. On the day that my water broke, labor progressed quickly and smoothly and baby was born at home with neither Dr Jan or my midwife present. Everything just happened so quickly, thank the heavens. Dr Jan was never notified of my home birth and she tried to contact me the week of my due date, but as a first time mom being freshly postpartum she was not my main priority. I reached out to her office a couple of weeks later and left a message but no one ever returned my call. When trying to make a follow up appointment I called her office several times and left multiple messages, again never to be called back. Finally, I went down to her office thinking that I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon entering, the waiting room was empty, and the receptionist was sitting behind the desk on her phone. She even mentioned seeing my messages but commented that she didn't return any calls yet. Dr Jan walked out briefly then went back to her office. The receptionist followed her then came back to say that Dr Jan said she would no longer accept me as a patient. Their reasoning was that I gave birth at home and didn't answer when they called.

The pediatricians that take care of my kids are very knowledgable and caring. At first they saw Dr. Paul Chan. He was excellent talking to children and parents, and suggested certain shots for them to take and gave sound advice. Unfortunately, he retired and now my son goes to Dr. Ryan Chung. He is also very nice and will explain thoroughly if we have any questions. Although appointments are always scheduled far in advance, they will fit us in when they can if my kids are sick, and I am reminded by email or text for appts scheduled far in advance. The front desk is always on it and if I have a question, the assistant or doctor will call within a day, usually after or close to closing. If their primary dr is off, there are 2 others that cover so I don't have to wait or find another doctor. They have a 2 story play area for little kids, and a hand sanitizer in the waiting room as well. Paid parking is in the building, but I always shop at pearlridge so I park at the pearlridge parking lot instead.

Dr. Kobayashi has always been professional and upfront when discussing my medical conditions and options. So far, he has always been there when I needed him and have no complaints. I have a pretty good bullshit meter, and the doctor has always passed with flying colors. I'm not surprised by the bad reviews here only because of the nature of the medical profession. Medical doctors are professionals exercising judgment based upon observations and standards. What looks like a mistake in judgment may actually be consistent with medical standards based on the specific observations, or one of several reasonable conclusions that may or may not prove to be accurate. There is an inherent element of the unknown when it is not possible to do invasive tests or imaging scans for patients with symptoms that do not rise to certain levels. And sometimes people just make mistakes. The bottom line is if you feel your physician may be wrong, then ask for a second medical opinion. I don't consider asking for a second opinion to be rude or insulting, but even if it were, it wouldn't stop me where my health is at stake. I feel for people who may be overly trusting or not aware of the right to ask for a second opinion, but I doubt that there any perfect doctors that never need to have their opinions verified.
