So I agreed to uterine embolization, which left me in such excruciating pain that I was prepared to walk to the emergency room at 3 o'clock in the morning. Recovery took months; and barely shrunk the fibroids at all. I was finally able to schedule a mammogram and, lo and behold, that lump turned out to be a 2cm malignant tumor. They had the nerve to call me a year later to schedule my annual exam. Since then, I no longer schedule visits with independent clinicians.
