My oldest child is 16 and I dragged her to every portrait studio under the sun and was always disappointed with the photos: they looked like school pictures each and every time. Then we met Marla through one of her children. We met her at a park for photos of our three children and I have never witnessed someone so at ease with her clients, surroundings, and camera. When we met her in her studio to review the photos she had taken, we had such a hard time choosing which pictures to order: they were all beautiful and captured our children's personalities perfectly. We ordered more photos than we expected going in, but it was just so difficult to decide. She is always so gracious with sending us a few extra prints too, which says something about her customer service. I get the feeling that she looks at all of her clients as family members and gives her best every time. We had her take photos of the entire family a few years later and she continues to capture our children perfectly in photos. She is very flexible and accomodating with her time and camera. I finally found Ania through an Instagram search and quickly booked an appointment with her as she was very responsive over email! From the moment I pulled up in my car, I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. Ania greeted me and brought me into her beautiful studio. I had brought so many things to wear but I could have brought nothing as she has a whole wardrobe of maternity clothing. I wanted the black turtleneck dress, so we started with that one. Taking the pictures was so easy. I received feedback on where to look and how to move from Ania and the woman working with her that I am blanking on her name. They would stop after a few pictures to show me how they looked so I had a sneak peek. Ania asked a lot of questions about what I wanted when it came to lighting, outfits, poses, etc. I never felt pressured to do anything cheesy or anything that I didn't like. My boyfriend was running late, so I was worried we wouldn't get a ton of pictures with him, but Ania was so patient. We ended up going a little over the hour and a half assigned, and I also had five outfit changes instead of four. She really wanted me to have a lot of options and looks to choose from! Within a day I had the gallery of photos, and only three days after I chose the photos, I had the final edited photos back! It was so fast, and they all look so great. We all have facebook friends that fit that certain stereotype. You know...the bragger, the…read morepartier, the politico, and of course, the liker -- the person that likes everything anyone and everyone posts. Personally, I'm a lurker. I check it daily but I post minimally. However, I finally lived out the liker lifestyle when I saw my wedding photos taken by Blend. Seriously, I was 'Liking' all over the place! Blend Photography consists of a husband and wife team, whose artistic vision blends (see what I did there!?!) to deliver the perfect results for your event. Together, they were able to create the exact look and feel I was looking for and capture all those important moments of the big day. I found Blend Photography through a simple Yelp search...thanks again, Yelp! I was panicky and frazzled. I just did an engagement session with another photographer, I was less than thrilled. Very, very less than thrilled! So I started searching and calling. Jen from Blend quickly returned my call and called my nerves immediately. Yes, they had my date open and yes, she could meet with me to discuss my event and 'vision.' Already, I was confident in my choice...I loved what I saw online, I loved that she could make me feel comfortable immediately over the phone and I loved that she was willing to work with my hectic schedule. And after a meet and greet, I realized I was very, very confident with Blend. Our engagement session took place during an evening following a super hot day. Unfortunately, we kept having to reschedule because of the heat wave we were having during that time. I so glad we kept on rescheduling...no one wants to look at photos of a sweaty, kissy couple with frizzy hair. Luckily, the evening we took the photos was perfect, even though it was still warm. Jen and Rob had some great ideas in mind for shots and locations but also made sure to capture the spots that my guy and I wanted as well. And then our big day came. Leading up to the wedding day, Jen kept in touch via email to solidify the details of the actual day. She also made sure to find out which shots/poses/locations were most important to me. Both Jen and Rob wielded cameras that day, making sure to capture every moment from multiple angles. They definitely caught some great shots, but made sure to stay unobtrusive during the most important moments. And most importantly, they stayed very respectful of the flow and traditions of the wedding and the synagogue. A few weeks later, I was finally able to see the amazing shots on their website. They also promptly had a disc and a letter granting me rights to reproduce the photos waiting for me as soon as it was ready. Unfortunately, the wedding album did take some time to get to me -- however this was because of some issues with their lab. The wait was long, but in the end it was worth it -- the photobook was great. Just a tip though -- make sure your let them know of every shot you want/need. They are not mind readers and because of that mistake on my part, I feel like I lost out on a shot of an important custom from the ceremony. So yea, I'm definitely happy I chose Blend to be part of my big day. I guess its more than just 'like' -- its 'love' when it comes to the great photos to remind me of that amazing day.
