The sourdough was one of those life-altering situations, all crunchy and buttery and basically demanding a moment of silence, and the eggs were so light and fluffy I briefly considered asking for their skincare routine. Then, in a moment of complete loss of self-control, I got a scone. I regret nothing. Mainly because I couldn't choose between the cakes, all of which were staring at me like delicious little temptations. If you are anywhere near the road to Merimbula, you have to stop here. I'm already planning a return trip purely for the coffee, which was so good it made me question every other coffee I've ever had.

The chips needed to be cooked just a tad longer, but there were a lot of them, so it was hard to complain. I certainly left full, and I didn't manage to finish them all and I'm a fatty. The wife had a grilled fish salad of some sort that she asked them to make and they were really nice about it, so that's always appreciated. We'd go back for sure if we're back down to Batemans Bay again. This place has a nice feel to it, and I liked that the guy doing the cooking was sipping on a beer while he worked, my kind of place!

The garlic base was very chewy, although tasted okay. The pizza, however, seemed to be completely coated in some kind of very sweet, glossy sauce or glaze. If I had to guess I would say that it was supposed to be "sweet chilli sauce" which was listed as an ingredient when I ordered, but in my opinion it was quite unpleasant and not at all what I was expecting. Without that the pizza most likely wouldn't have been too bad. Bizarre decision for a meatlover's pizza, which is surely pretty difficult to get wrong. Both products were also a bit overdone - I think the oven may need a brush out. Perhaps other pizzas on the menu wouldn't have this problem. Still, based on my experience I would recommend La Bocca 100m up the road instead for a pizza in Narooma.
