Cassey, the manager, of Micahel's is amazing. My grandson was taking his helium balloon home for his birthday and it had not been tied on properly by the store clerk, so the balloon flew into the air before my grandson could get it in the house. He immediately burst into tears. So I returned to the store with only the clip that the balloon had been tied onto, explaining what had happened. The original store clerk who had tied the balloon onto the clip said I would need to buy another balloon. I asked to speak to the manager. When Cassey came out, she said "Pick three balloons to replace the one that got away." She then proceed to fill them all with helium, tie them tight together, and when I took them home to my grandson, he was more than delighted. A very big thank to Cassey who has made a little boy very happy. Great customer service. Will definitely recommend to all. read more

Everytime I go into this store I'm let down, it's like opening a fridge for the fifth time in an hour just hoping something will show up but it's always empty. Unless you are a crocheter or an office worker there is nothing good. Not only do the products suck but whenever I go to check out there is no one at the till and there always seems to be a problem with the self checkout. I'm a huge crafter so it sucks that this store is terrible. read more

Today was a total letdown at Michael's. I bought a Christmas tree online, picked it up, and realized it wasn't what I expected. No big deal, right? Their own website says "If your Michaels.ca purchase does not meet your satisfaction, you may return it within two months (60 days) of purchase. To return an item, the item must be new, unused and in its original packaging. You may return the item to a Michaels store or by mail." So I went to the store... and the sales associate was making up stuff about us not being able to return the product because it was opened and flat-out refused to take it back. No real explanation, no effort to help, nothing. And she said "oh that's why we have displays!" And I'm like, we bought it online! It doesn't matter if you have displays. Just a hard "no," even when I pointed out their policy. It felt dismissive and completely unprofessional. If a store can't stand behind the policies they advertise, why should anyone trust them? The corporate says one thing and the store implement something else. This whole thing was a waste of time, money, and holiday spirit. I won't be shopping here again. read more

Carrying 2 leg frames and a couple of little things-the person wouldn't move the stuff off of the counter so I struggled with purse and items trying to pay. Not sure what happened to my credit card between the store and my car. I then called the store to ask if a credit card had been handed in. She said no. I said there's no one else you want to check with? And she did not respond. It was a strange interaction. What is wrong with people. I will order what I need off an Amazon next time. Artists supplies ,,, Michael's principal brand is " Artists Loft " ,,,, no serious artist would use this inferior product ,,, very poor quality. Art supplies ( oil painting ) can be quite expensive and when Michael's has a coupon offer I do try to take advantage of it. For the most part Michael's has a " 50 % off " coupon that you can print off. I did so as I need a large tube of titanium white oil paint ,,, yes of course 50% off what ?? I price checked, Michael's regular price was 54% higher than their competition on Ellis St. By the way when it comes to " knowledgeable sales staff " I couldn't find anyone who knew the difference between an oil drum and an oil paint !! read more

Although the selection of products in my chosen hobby of scrapbooking is improving, the salespeople at this Michaels location leave MUCH to be desired. No one can ever tell you if an item that is out of stock is coming or when it *might* arrive; there is rarely an associate to be found if you are looking for something, and I have asked a question and had an eye roll as the answer! The framing department LOST an original piece of artwork that I had taken in to be framed and then expected me to pay for the frame without the artwork!! It was a 3 month battle with the manager to tell them that it would be a frosty day in HELL before I was paying for a frame that was going to be for a handmade original piece of artwork that THEY HAD LOST!!! Also, their return policy WITH receipt is only a gift card back - very annoying when you have the receipt!!! Long story read more

I was suprised to know that a large company like yours does not take orders over the phone as I live in Vernon and do not get into kelowna unless I can get a ride, As I am 80 years old I do not like driving in the highway high speed trafic so I am very dissapointed with your policy of not supplying in home customers.. With such a turnover in employees, it's hard to judge. If anyone stuck around long enough to gain knowledge, it would be a different story, but HQ and managers make life difficult for anyone to bother staying. If you're in need of half-decent craft supplies in scrapbooking and needlecraft, it's only OKAY, but unless you're adamant on getting housebrand stuff you can't find anywhere else, don't bother. Asking floor associates when stock will be ordered is like asking a cashier how to chop a pork cutlet - you don't. Only managers do, and good luck finding one. Every Michaels location I've been to is this way. I only go there for the yarn, if only that. read more
