Michaels is a great art and craft store with a wide selection of art supplies, crafting materials, decor, floral collections, sewing kits, fabrics, baking supplies, party supplies, Christmas trees and ornaments and more. It is located next to TJMAXX and HomeGoods. There are ample parking spots in this plaza. The store is spacious and well stocked. The staff were courteous and friendly. You can order online too. They have rewards program which is convenient for regular customers

I am a fan of this store for the variety of picture frames they offer as I LOVE to take photographs and frame many of my pics, the art section, the discounts they offer often and the staff who are all friendly and helpful. Prices for most items are very affordable and parking is always available in the huge parking lot .

This Michaels is located in a convenient plaza next to TJMaxx and HomeGoods, and near Ulta Beauty and ALDI. It's one of the best arts and crafts stores in the area, offering a wide range of supplies for all types of creative projects. You'll find sections dedicated to everything from t-shirts, painting supplies, and canvases to ribbons, florals, photo frames, and gift-wrapping. Whether you're into baking, jewelry making, knitting, or even just decorating, they have it all. Currently, they're running a promotion on photo frames--buy 1, get 2 free! Right now, they also have a great selection of Halloween decorations for 50% off. From spooky flowers and themed wooden boards to fake pumpkins and wreaths, it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking to decorate for the season or save for the next. Personally, my favorite section is the Christmas decor--it's never too early to start planning! They have a wide range of Christmas trees, from mini $30 ones to larger trees priced over $200. The trees in the $79-$100 range are pretty solid choices too. Pricing can vary--blank canvases are often on sale and very affordable, but some other items are on the pricier side if bought at full price. One small annoyance is that many items don't have clear price tags, but there are price checkers scattered throughout the store, which is helpful. The customer service is solid--employees are friendly, helpful, and always on top of keeping the shelves stocked and organized. Overall, a great place for any crafting needs, especially with the seasonal deals going on!

Plenty of parking and a convenient location! There was one employee that was super helpful to me while I needed pricing (the price stickers were not correctly matched with the notebooks above so I couldn't tell what costed what). She helped me scan several items and would tilt her machine so I could read the screen with her. The employee who checked me out at the register was also very friendly and helpful!! I give 4 stars instead of 5 because they didn't have all the supplies I needed and that was kind of frustrating cause I didn't want to go to another store when I was just needing a box of drawing pencils all in the same format (not a variety pack). The employee did mention that they were restocking this week but it was just unfortunate it was not during the time I needed it.

    Home Depot pricing

Just walked out of Michael's over horrible customer service and rudeness of the cashier. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but to describe her she was young, wore glasses and had over exaggerated blush. Came in for a 3m Hanger, asked if they price matched, she stated yes they did. Then once I brought the item she kept giving me objections to not match the price. I showed her Joanne's pricing, she said , "oh it's clearance". Then I pulled up Home Depot "we don't match them...there's one like 5 min away if you want to go there". Finally I showed her the same item at a much lower price on Amazon. She asked to take my phone. I gave it to her, she started swiping up and down saying the items were different. When in reality they weren't. I asked for my phone back twice but she refused as she was still trying to find a reason not to match. So I grabbed my phone and left. I went down the Home Depot where I found the same item. I asked the employee if they can price match, and without any HESITATION or OBJECTIONS, he was happy to do so. Managers at this Michael's need to educate their staff to give a clients their Property back when asked the first time. The fact that my phone wasn't given back when asked, made me feel very uncomfortable as if my freedom was taken away. They also need more employees with the positive attitude as those of Home Depot's. After the many visits to Michael's, this will definitely be my last. Never again will I spend a penny here.

Nice staff and fun selections! We like to bring our little one to buy supplies, find craft ideas and build inspirations. They're better than Hobby Lobby!

Yay for damaged corners from falling!

We came in with my son in search of MTG cards and had fun browsing their selection. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were on par with other gaming stores in the area. Store and play areas were clean with some interesting custom decor items. They're located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Would be a great place to host your own card gaming sessions or join an established local specialty card gaming community!

When I walked into Darkside Games, I wasn't greeted. One employee was helping a customer with a trade of multiple Pokémon cards, which is understandable, but I stood by the display case looking at Magic cards for quite a while without any acknowledgment or indication I'd be helped. During that time, another customer who seemed like a regular came in and was immediately helped, while I continued waiting. A second employee later came out from the back, walked past me without saying anything, and started working without checking if I needed help. After about 15-16 minutes, I finally asked about a single card I was looking for and got a dismissive response. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and not very inviting compared to other TCG shops I've visited.

Avoid this store for tournaments…read more I had a confirmed registration through the Bandai app for their tournament, yet when I arrived 10 minutes early, I was turned away. The store had set an early check-in cutoff that was only announced on their private Discord server, with no notification on the Bandai app where players actually registered. As a result, waitlisted players were let in ahead of those of us with confirmed spots, and we were then told to join a waitlist of 40+ people, despite having already secured our registrations. Several other registered players I knew experienced the same problem. Many of them had driven over 45 minutes with the assumption of a secured spot while arriving before the start time. This is a serious problem. If an event is open to the public and registration is handled through the Bandai app, critical information like check-in deadlines should be communicated through that same platform, not buried in a Discord that not all participants know about or have access to. The way this was handled strongly favors locals and regulars who are already in their circle, which is unfair to outside players who followed the proper registration process. I would not recommend supporting this shop.

Went to have a painting framed, that I've had since the 90's…read more It was done by a family member and I am quite fond of it. A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

They were extremely friendly and provided me with some insight into this hobby. There were a lot of figurines available, and supplies to paint them. They hold sessions that do not crossover to local shops nearby (Odyssey games, geeky teas, Pegasus, etc.). This is one of 3 Warhammer cafes and the displays they have on the floor come from the European countries. They only sale and allow Warhammer related items in the store. They have some tables where people can play for free and use their space for any social gatherings for Warhammer. They host events here and there for people to learn or gain knowledge in this world. They also have a little Cafe inside where you can get some desserts and drinks. The figurines are costly and this is a very expensive hobby. Even though I didnt purchase anything, they were all very friendly and didnt force us to purchase anything. I believe their intent is to educate people in the art of RPGs and the amazing skills it takes to paint and create figurines. No judgments are given to those who walk into the store.

The store is massive and has epic displays throughout, definitely walk around and all the way to the back where the tables are. You can sit there and build/paint or bring your army and use their terrain to play a game; and if you have questions while playing or want to learn to play there's ALWAYS someone knowledgeable to help. Their book section is probably the nicest in the area, they get perks for being the official LA cafe so you can find special Black Library editions which is super exciting for people like me and my mans who have a small library at home. All in all, I love this place, and if you have any interest at all in the world of Warhammer definitely check it out. For the mere price of your entire attention span and available hobby hours you can find not just a game but a community.
