The store had a big comic section. Next to this area was a variety of art books, D&D dungeon master guides, and various merch like Funko Pops and comic figurines. I was more interested in the TCG section with singles for MTG. Here they had a whole Ultimate Guard section which I have never seen before. They had a ton of great displays for TCG accessories and I saw some really cute Christmas themed Dragon Shield sleeves. It looked like they carried just about every other colour of Dragon Shields as well. The next part of the store was all about Warhammer. The back of the store had many tables set up and there were a few people playing Warhammer. The tables were pretty spaced out which made it easy to get around. While we were browsing some of the cards, an employee came over and offered to help. It really seemed like they were genuinely interested in what we were looking at since we all share the same hobby which made the whole experience feel comfortable.

Walt's is a pretty big hobby shop, with a wide variety of stuff, including RC cars and planes,…read moreplastic models, model rockets, and lots of random supplies for making cool stuff, including paints, balsa, dowels, glues, etc. And as big as it is, there's an even bigger space out back with an RC car track, a crawler track, and even an extra meeting room. That's where Walt's really shines -- long after the posted hours, they open the space to all sorts of local hobby groups. I've been there with a rocket club in the back room, RC cars going on the track, and yet another group up front, meeting in the actual hobby shop part. The staff is super-friendly, and willing to help out and offer suggestions for whatever kind of project you want to take on. If you need hobby stuff, this is a great place to go in the Syracuse area.

There was a display layout running by the door and it was fun to watch a Big Boy snake through the layout with a long train. Note that they don't have any wooden (Brio/Thomas) trains in stock, though they did have some O gauge Thomas train sets. Since I didn't have a list of things I needed, I was most just browsing. The owner was very pleasant as I rattled off a list of one-off items and helped me locate what I was looking for. We discussed custom runs for a bit, as well as the the future of the hobby. He clearly knew his stuff, and watching him assist some new modelers with simple, direct answers without an up-sell attached was refreshing. There is a dearth of good full-service hobby shops these days, and yet this one manages to rise above. I highly recommend it.

I went to the store on May 29th and it looked almost done . At this point I was excited to get it and give it to my husband. I went back to the store June 12th to see what was going on, since I didn't get a phone call or text on the status of the coin holder and it wasn't open . I was ok that's fine I'll come back, I went back to the store. Every day for a week in the store was never opened. Eventually, I found them on Facebook and added them sent them a message asking what was going on. I kept getting the runaround on when to pick up and when it was going to be ready every day was a new excuse on why they couldn't meet up or give me the coin holder . Eventually on Monday May23rd I received the product. It definitely looked like it was just got thrown together with no care in the world. When I first approach this company to make my husbands coin holder, I gave them a reference photo of what I wanted. The only thing that looks remotely like the photo I gave them is the shape everything else looks horrible .when I received the coin holder I could tell it just got burned or glue because it smelled really bad . Before meeting that day he said he already had it done a couple days prior to meeting up, so I was questioning why it would smell like he just now finished it. I'm not sure if he just didn't care about the project or what it was but I was very disappointed especially since this was supposed to be a Father's Day gift/anniversary gift. The communication with this company was absolutely horrible. It definitely was not worth $360. I was highly disappointed because I was looking forward to it and thought it was gonna look absolutely beautiful. I am highly disappointed the owner could tell I was disappointed, because he even said himself "Oh, you don't even like it." if I was him and I knew a client didn't like something I would feel bad and try to get a refund or make a new one. But no, he acted like he didn't care that. I didn't like the product at all, also at this point I was so over him . I just hope this review gifts another person a spotlight on how this company operates . The communication is horrible, The product is horrible, the quality is terrible.
