How comes?…read more This is one of the "secret" places of the Milanese "Aperitivo" (happy hour), the pre-dinner drink which comes with a buffet dinner of its own :-) The offering of Il Tempio d'Oro during their happy hour is quite good and extensive, can happily substitute dinner, and the drinks and beers are all good and not terribly expensive. Outside buffet hours, the menu is still very good, but not that cheap. The place is very informal/"alternative" style, and can accomodate groups, maybe not extremely large ones. Pets are welcome :-)

I felt like we were packed in like sardines - it was impossible to get to our table or for the servers to get through. The service was also very slow. It was fairly busy because of the apertivo hours, but there were at least 4 servers, and considering the size of the place, it shouldn't have taken as long as it did for service. We had to flag someone down to order because nobody ever came to help us. Anyhow, this is definitely a great spot for apertivo. If you aren't sure what that is - it's like happy hour, except you get food along with your drink purchase. Prices were reasonable - I had the largest Hoegaarden I've ever seen and it was only 6 euros. They set up a pretty sizeable buffet, which you are free to enjoy as many times as you'd like. The food was pretty good and it was a decent selection. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth checking out!

Our host was gracious enough to translate the Italian menu to English for us. Apparently, the menu changes daily. I got the vibe that many locals eat at this restaurant. Everything that we ate here from the complimentary breadsticks to the dessert was delicious. The rosé wine was also good. For an appetizer, we had a dish that contained lobster, shrimp, and scallions as well as a separate octopus dish. I had a black pasta with shrimp as my entree. The dessert was hands down one of the best I have ever had. It was apricot gelato inside of a chocolate egg shell containing a chocolate mousse. If Malpensa airport was not so far from Milan, we would have returned here during our layover back to the U.S. I would come back to Milan just for this restaurant. If you love seafood, then this is a can't miss stop for you.

When I shared the pics with my friend, she immediately said why do they have potatoes that's not classic Lebanese, haha! Ethnic cuisine in Milan is okay. I tried the sambusik but will not order again, the filling of meat and onions was excellent but pasty outside was too thick. Lots of vegetarian dishes, all very tasty. The Dolce Neve dessert is similar to panna cotta from Piedmont but the rose water and pistachios gave it a different twist. I still prefer panna cotta. A very filling and satisfying meal priced at 20 bucks each. Great value for money. Strongly advised.
