We were so lucky to find Michelle to take our wedding pictures. I am photographer and very very picky about photography. We wanted a photographer that could capture moments (a specific photographic skill) that could offer stylish & artistic photos (a separate photographic skill) After looking extensively, I was worried as it seemed that every wedding photographer we came across that I liked started at $6000. Then my fiancé emailed me Michelle Scott's photo blog. I gave her a call and we talked for 45 minutes. Her approach and understanding of what I wanted was clear on the phone. I told her which of the photos on her site I liked and why. Later that day she had sent me an email with ideas for the venue that sounded great, I knew I wanted her. Then I had to call back on price. I was astounded at how reasonable her rate was given her skill (all wedding photographers are not created equal). A few days after we gave her the go-ahead, she emailed me with test photos of and around the wedding venue (decatur courthouse) with more ideas. We loved everything she sent so much that we asked her to do the rehearsal dinner as well. When she arrived, she came with 2 cameras and a rolling bag of lenses (her equipment is no joke). She took photos in an inconspicuous manner so that we didn't notice her at all. I was shocked the next day all she had gotten. It's important for a photographer not to be intrusive during the event so you remember the moment and not the photographer, Michelle knows this and somehow is able to give you the moment and get the picture at the same time. At the wedding it rained, all of her preparation for pre wedding outdoor pictures went out the window. She was quick to adapt and in a few short minutes gave us a few wedding portraits that are beautiful. This is in addition to capturing the wedding magically. Michelle recently shot our engagement and wedding photos and did an amazing job. Not only did the pictures turn out wonderfully, but she was such a joy to work with. Wedding planning can be incredibly stressful, but Michelle made the whole process run as smoothly as possible. I'm lucky enough to know Michelle personally and even luckier that she was willing to shoot my engagement session. My fiance and I have been together nine years now and have NEVER taken professional photographs with one another. Needless to say we were nervous, unprepared, and not sure what to expect (or do!). We had a wonderful experience shooting our engagement photos with Michelle! We shared general ideas beforehand on what we wanted, but she also scouted the locations before the shoot so we were able to further collaborate on our ideas once we were on-site. She had lots of great ideas and suggestions that truly made the end product better than we could have ever imagined. I appreciated that she was open to trying anything from goofy to more highly-stylized photos. We enjoyed it all and couldn't be happier with the end product. Michelle is a very talented photographer and a great person to meet and "work" with. We asked her to take our engagement pictures, and even though we have never met before, it was like we knew each other for years. She understand what her clients like and value very quickly and she goes above and beyond to satisfy their requests. I asked her for pictures around GaTech and Piedmont Park area, and she went and scouted the places before the photo shoot and found the best spots to take pics (I spent many years at Tech campus, and didn't know that there were such secluded magical places available). My fiancee and I had never taken professional pics before, but she created a very relaxed atmosphere, so we didn't even feel like we were "posing." We choose Michelle for our engagement photos back in November 2013 and our wedding photos this past August 2014. From the first meeting we know that Michelle was the right choice. Michelle did our engagement photos as well as our wedding and I could not be happier with the results of both! Her and her husband together shot our wedding and were incredible in getting wonderful shots, dealing with a rowdy bridal party, and staying calm in the face of (almost) a huge rain storm. I visited Atlanta this May and I was thinking of hiring a photographer just for a fun photoshoot in Downtown Atlanta. I found Michelle via yelp and read great reviews about her and contacted her for an appointment couple of weeks prior to my travel dates. She is a great person with a great talent. Almost an hour prior to the photoshoot session, it was foggy outside in the morning. So she called me and rescheduled it twice, on her own, for me. We started off photoshoot from my Hotel roof top and then she suggested few places in Downtown. She really knows what places in Downtown are more colorful. I took her suggestion and all my photos turned out amazing. She was also open to ideas and I showed one of the pictures from my previous photo shoot from another photographer.
