I had an extremely disappointing experience with Michelle's Cleaners. I was staying at a hotel after traveling internationally for nearly two weeks and sent several items of clothing to Michelle's Cleaners specifically so I would have clean clothes to wear on my flight home. When my pants were returned, the drawstring had been completely shredded and the surrounding fabric was damaged. I have photos documenting the condition of the pants when they were returned to me. What made the situation even more disappointing was how the company handled the damage. My initial response from the cleaner was to suggest that the pants never had a drawstring in the first place. When I spoke with the owner, rather than working with me to resolve the issue, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to fully explain the situation. She insisted that the hotel should reimburse me and told me that I needed to leave the damaged pants at the hotel's front desk. There were several problems with that solution. First, any credit to my hotel bill would go directly to my company, so that would not reimburse me personally for the ruined pants. My goal was simply to be reimbursed so I could replace an item that was damaged while in their care. Second, the hotel was not responsible for the damage caused while my clothing was being cleaned. And third, I was traveling home after being away for two weeks and did not have another clean outfit available to wear home. I tried to explain this, but the owner continued interrupting me rather than allowing me to finish. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how a company handles them. Unfortunately, in this case, I felt that Michelle's Cleaners was more interested in avoiding responsibility than resolving the problem fairly. Gave me a receipt with a barcode, clear itemized list, and pickup date and time in big letters. Pretty simple and organized. 2 days later, picked it up, transaction took 30 secs. I went here due to high rating but came home and saw my clothes to be disappointed. I have very delicate top and had some stains and I was afraid to wash it at home so I decided to get it dry cleaned. Came home and checked my clothes and saw the same stains I requested to be removed and also ripped thread. I get that foundation stains can be difficult to remove but I wish they would at least inform me of remaining stains and ripped thread when I went in to pick up my clothes. They never mentioned anything and charged me for full price. One star due to dishonesty and lack of communication. I found Michelle's doing a yelp search and I was not disappointed. I had brought my sons naval officer uniform for the first time I was not aware of an intricacy of the uniform parts the counter person pointed out and made sure I didnt lose the pieces. Drop off and pick up were easy and the counter staff were friendly and helpful. I also had a pair of pants "fixed" which required seamstress work. The value on the amount I paid did not make me feel like I was being taken advantage of which happens a lot these days for anything in the bay area. ButAfter I said I'll take it somewhere else to see if another cleaners could clean it , owner got upset and insisted of trying to help or being apologetic, started yelling at me and was too rude. Dropped off a jacket to be cleaned and jeans to be hemmed. The lady helping me was very nice! It took a week to get the items back, but I'm not sure if that was due to the hemming. The price was reasonable/average ($22 for dry cleaning a coat and $18 for hem). FYI the person that does the alterations does not come until around 11-12pm each day if you need to be measured. read more

Do NOT send your nice clothes here. When my shorts were returned to me, I was shocked; they were pinned with 2 clothespins from back to front and created 4 very large holes in the waistband. Furthermore, my black dress shirt came back clearly whitened at the edges and it looked like they ironed the collar with very little care as it came back looking almost metallic. Maybe they were swamped with orders but I would've rather waited a few more days than received damaged pieces of clothing back. If you only care about the speed and don't care about your clothes coming back with HOLES and the texture of the shirts to be completely altered, this place is for you. I was looking for a dry cleaning service that could steam a wedding dress and veil. I was nervous because I was cautioned that steaming the wrinkles out could melt the delicate fabric and embroidery if the steam was too hot. And the dress and veil couldn't be ironed. I called one company , but they were so backlogged that they referred me to Michelle's Cleaners. Michelle was beyond fantastic! I took the wedding dress and veil in together with the bridesmaids and other gowns/dresses. She steamed the wedding dress and veil right there while I waited. 15 min., and it was done. We chatted a bit, and she said that she could tell I was anxious about the dress, so she wanted to ease my worries by steaming it in my presence to show me that the dress would be fine. And then I could take it home right away rather than leave it and be worried over it. And talk about affordable. I couldn't believe it. She's been in business for 40 years. I'm so glad to have found someone who really listened to my concerns and wanted to, not just do a good job, but go above and beyond to make me happy and ease my mind. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I highly highly highly recommend Michelle's Cleaners. I use their wash & fold service for my regular laundry throughout the week. I've been dropping off a hamper of t-shirts, jeans, pajamas, leggings, etc. Obviously if I had time to do my own laundry then I would, but my job has been so busy lately that I simply don't have time. They do an amazing job of cleaning everything and making it smell super fresh, as well as folding it neatly so that I can just pop all of my clothes into my dresser at home. Michelle and her staff are super hard working; you can tell she genuinely puts a ton of effort into making sure her business runs smoothly and that her customers are happy. I've seen their vans driving around the area a lot too; from what I gather they also do pick up & drop off which is probably great for businesses or senior citizens. Pricing is super fair...don't quote me on this but for the wash & fold service I believe it's $5 per pound with a 5lb minimum? My first experience at Michelle's was wonderful! The second time around... sadly lost my business. I went to Michelle's 2 weeks in advance requesting some alterations on a dress for my maternity shoot. A week goes by and my dress was sent to a different cleaners without my knowledge. I called Michelle and she thought she had sent me there. I then had to go to that different location to try on- hence it was supposed to be ready within a week. I understand things happen so I went along.... The other cleaners didn't even work on my dress until day I was supposed to pick up. Also, she was trying to charge me more than initially stated by Michelle because it was a lot of work.. which I understand BUT that is not my issue I had brought it in 2 weeks prior- they could have told me then or agreed amoungst eachother the price? I had to come in 4x for the same dress to two different places...If the cleaners are 3 min away from one another, why inconvenient your customers by sending them back and forth?
