I hesitate to write this as Larry is loved by Taos and I have used his services for 30+ years. Even…read morebefore this recent experience my reviews have been mixed on the work he has done for me. He remade my mother's wedding ring and band into one ring (mediocre) and he made earrings out of a Chinese mother of pearl game token adding a gold frame and a pearl to each (I was astounded by the price tag of over $700, but my bad for not getting an estimate). I took my lab grown diamond anniversary band to have a diamond reset that had fallen out and asked that they also check the others to make sure they weren't loose. I picked up my ring which I thought looked good. Upon closer examination at home I discovered that almost half of my ring was smashed on the interior and the stone that was replaced was crooked. I took the ring back and spoke with Larry. He said he did not do the work, someone else did. He took the ring back and said he would see what he could do with it. He did apologize. I picked it up and this time, not only was the inside still smashed, but the exterior silver looked like it had been sanded. So, half of my ring is shiny silver and have is dull. It is ruined. I'm sorry Larry, but if someone did that to one of your beautiful silver creations you would not be happy. Neither am I.

Fixed my two vintage bracelets by adding missing stones perfectly. Highly recommended. Reasonable…read moreprice as well.

After not coming to Taos for almost 10 years, some of the shops appeared and went. Not sure if this…read morejewelry store existed back then; I sure was happy to stumble upon it (it's kind of hard to miss as it's located in the center of shopping district in the charming town of Taos). I had been looking for a pair of silver earrings for a while and the moment I stepped in to this shop, I knew I would walk away with something I had been yearning for. The store is a good size. To the left is what's made locally in Taos. And to the right, all everything else (at least that is what the lady upfront who was manning the shop's register said. By the way, she was welcoming and courteous.) I couldn't help telling her that this was by far the best jewelry shop I had stepped into in Taos to which she proudly agreed with. Her confidence in what the shop carries and sells was manifested in her reply. Everything is beautifully placed inside the glass showcase on both sides. The store has done an excellent job by displaying the pieces in the most orderly way as possible. I quickly glanced at the left side first. I then proceeded to where the lady was standing (the right side). And then a pair of silver Navajo earrings caught my attention. I didn't know they were Navajo until the kind lady told me so. The earrings were exactly the right size (I was looking for something small/smaller.) I asked the lady to take them out of the glass case so I could take a closer look. She, of course, generously allowed me to put them on my ears. At that moment, I knew they were it!! And to my surprise, the price was barely $30+? Really? These non-machine-made pieces are only that much? No more wasting of my time so I quickly transacted to purchase them. A little solo getaway to Taos led me to these beautiful earrings was a treat. If you are in Taos and are looking for beautiful and quality pieces of jewelry, waste no time and go here. You are guaranteed to find what you are looking for.

My purchase of a bracelet made locally was an easy sell as it is beautiful, but there were many other gift items and purchases that I would have liked to make. The prices weren't too bad and each has a story of those who made it, which helps to remind a shopper that their purchase goes toward someone's fair livelihood. Love it! I'd go back and get all my gifts if I had more time, but definitely worthy of a look and a browse.

I refuse to inundate myself with chemicals to passify a business owner living in fear. To respond, I did come in. But I was not made to feel welcome, to even look, because I didn't care to use your chemicals. I had just washed my hands. That should have been enough I feel. "Local" or not, it's chemicals. You tried to force it, I refused, and spent money elsewhere that day. You didn't offer to sign anything accepting any responsibility for adverse effects I might have even . .
