This is a great sign to learn about the Micmac, a First Nations people (apparently the current spelling is "Mikmaq" but the site uses the old spelling, so).
Here, a Micmac will guide you through mock wigwams & traps & tell you about the Micmac way of life, including how they lived before the Europeans came. Hearing about their way of life from a native and seeing tools being used in front of you is certainly very different from just visiting a museum.
That said, there is also a small museum to find out about the Micmac people.
The "year" of the site if 1675 - so what you see is supposed to be around then. Everything in the museum is a replica. read more
