Initially attracted by their fair pricing, I quickly stayed for the quality. Unlike many franchise shops--and even some luxury dealerships--this location does things by the book. As someone who routinely checks lug nut torque after service, I've been consistently impressed. While most techs "go to town" with an impact wrench, the team here actually torques to spec every single time. If you're looking for the absolute lowest price at the expense of quality, go elsewhere. Their staff is professional and communicative. If there is a need for a repair, they provide different options to meet the costumer's needs and the mechanic is honest regarding the urgency of the repair. They are available to explain auto-systems function and answer any questions you may have. They have previously accommodated a tight work-schedule to get the car in the shop asap. Late on a Friday, I call to see if there's a chance in the world they can squeeze me in, and despite being full, they told me to come first thing in the morning. I'm so happy I chose them! Midas was my go-to for two years while living in the upper valley. They took great care of my 20 year old Subaru. Dave and the entire staff were extremely friendly and got to know me - I genuinely enjoyed bringing my car in. My pregnant wife took our mini van in to check on a rattling noise it was making. She was told that our catalytic converter AND resonator were clearly making rattling noises after putting it up on the lift for a half hour and that both parts NEEDED to be replaced. After seeing the very large price quote of almost a thousand dollars and more if we wanted a brand new resonator, she called around and found that 5 other shops completely disagreed because her check engine like was not on. She took it into 4 other shops to get a diagnosis, and every shop said it was a very simple gasket replacement, costing very little to repair at only $130. The Catalytic converter and resonator were both fine and not making any noise whatsoever. This company took advantage of my wife and tried to scam her into paying for a completely unnecessary repair job. We will NEVER using their business again, and we will tell anyone else the same. read more

Just spoke with Brian again after having more work done on my care at a VW dealership, where they properly fixed what Midas did not. Brian was extremely rude - defending his mechanics work and blaming the parts for improperly working. Then, he told me to to "go cry to the owner." Who won't be in til Monday. Because he's the owner and doesn't have to come into work everyday. When I called him out on his disrespectful words, he proceeded to tell me that the problems with my car are my fault, and that I am being disrespectful to him by saying he and his men have done a poor repair job. Tit for tat, I guess? The new wave of customer service. He's disrespectful, won't listen, and has 100% total bro code going on with his men. I needed my rear brakes done, so we decided to try this shop. I walked in and I was greeted and they went over what was needed and an additional issue. Not only did they look, they brought me out and showed me what was needed, showed me the culprit to the additional issue, then gave me an estimate of what it would cost. I was okay with it all, I waited for my car, which was a couple hours, but it was a pleasant wait. When I first walked in a cust was there really not happy and voicing that to the manager, being in cust service to 40+ years, I was listening, and was shocked to hear it was over an ESTIMATE and not actual work done. I think what that customer missed was the GUARANTEE they put on their work and certain parts. My Ace Mechanic, Chris, was really good to show me, go over the work and the ride home was AWESOME...no annoying rattle and my brakes worked BEAUTIFULLY! I now have a place I know I can count on. I went in for a muffler estimate, hoping to get a better price than I got from the mechanic who inspected my car could offer. In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, nobody was wearing a mask. Not a one of the four men who interacted with customers. Then the price was 100 dollars higher than the other quote I got from the guy who did my inspection. If you use these guys in West Lebanon, you might want to wait till there is a vaccine for the virus, because none of these guys really care about your health. I wore a mask and gloves. This was such a positive experience! They got my vehicle in promptly and the communication was fantastic! They called when they said they would and even found me $80 of discounts and rebates! (If you work at DHMC you get 10% off as part of dPerks). They gave me a thorough assessment before doing anything and documentation of what was completed as well as warranty information. My jeep threw the driveshaft as I was coming down I89 at around 11 PM. Luckily I was able to limp to Midas by putting it in 4 wheel drive. I took it in when they opened. My boyfriend and I came to get his car inspected at around 4:50 and the person at the front said they close at 5:30 to which he responded it's not even 5 and they just repeated we close at 5:30 and so we left. We both work in the customer service industry, in restaurants specifically, and yes it is annoying when people come right before you close but we have never turned anyone away, let alone 40 mins before we actually close. $288 to change spark plugs? I thought I was getting a tune-up/routine maintenance, not just getting my spark plugs changed. When I called them out on it they just told me that they'll put my car back "together" (whatever that means, engine cover just pops off) and to come get it. After going in for an oil change and tire rotation, I was informed that I might need to have my front brakes replaced, but an inspection would be required to make that determination. After an $80 inspection, I was quoted $1600 for all of the recommended work, and $1300 for all of the work that would be absolutely necessary. I went and got a second opinion and had my front and back brakes fulled replaced for $621 elsewhere. I am a young, female, international student, with admittedly minimal vehicle knowledge, and I felt like I was taken for a ride. The employees were very pleasant, and the service was prompt, but I am failing to understand how there could have been essentially a $1000 price disparity in the quotes for essentially the same work. read more

My experience with Midas of West Lebanon has largely been related to brakes (gratefully mufflers don't rust out the way they used to) but I have been impressed with the effort that Val and Jim make to ensure that their customers are happy. They have been careful to explain to me the details of the problem and usually present a number of options to correct it. Unlike some other auto repair outfits in the area, I have never felt that Midas tried to fix things that weren't broken. Most recently, I returned with a problem that had been fixed 6 months earlier. Val took care of it promptly and refused to take payment for fixing it again. That's the kind of customer service that keeps me coming back. read more

Car was on lifts for over an hour, at the end of which they didn't do a complete job, explaining that they would have had to do extra work that would have taken longer than "20 minutes". Huh? Told her I've had alignments done at other local establishments over the years, never heard that one before. She asked if they showed me printouts to prove they got it fully aligned ... and, yes, they did. Bottom line, charged full price for 2/3rds of the job, and it took alot longer than 20 minutes, REAL KICKER - I happened to look into the work area as they were getting ready to bring my car out, and I saw them jumping my battery. Outside, the guy handed me my keys, didn't say anything, until I asked him point blank if they had just jumped my battery. He said yes, that they had to leave it on during the (hour and a half) alignment and my battery drained. If I hadn't asked him and just drove it home (a few minutes away) and parked it, I would likely have come out the next morning to find a dead battery. So I drove around for 30 minutes, plenty of time to think about not coming back. read more
