TLDR: This place is the real deal. You can expect only the best service from staff who truly care about their customers. I'm a regular customer at my local Midas by my home in the Chicago suburbs. My family was in Milwaukee for a tournament for one of our kids, and our car suffered an unfortunate flat tire incident. After replacing it with the spare, I desperately called several local shops to see if I could purchase a new tire and have it installed. But they were all either too busy or didn't have the matching tire in stock. Finally, I called this Midas in West Allis, and the technician told me to bring the car over. When I arrived about 20 minutes later, they were waiting for me. They quickly checked the tire to confirm its specs, and they had the new tire installed within an hour. I was so impressed with their attentive customer service that I went ahead and did an oil change there too and canceled my appointment at my regular Midas. The shop was busy. There were many other customers there. I could tell a lot of them are regulars, and I can see why. This place does good work at a fair price, and they genuinely care about their customers. If I'm ever in Milwaukee again, this is only shop I'll use for all of my car service needs. For those who live in the Milwaukee area: run, don't walk to have your vehicle serviced here. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Went back a third time because the first two times I received a free oil change with other services. Came back the third time and the new front desk decided he needed to fight me on what I had got done there and tried be the big man talking down to me ... continued to move forward with the process because I needed an oil change. While they were doing my oil change, they had broken off one of my struts... and still continued to make me pay for it with no discount when I was not having strut problems to start with. read more

Wife brought car to have exhaust fixed and a pump done car came back 7 time Manger got in to my face and wanted to fight me took thru another location to finally have it looked at manager of the district laughed at us on the phone and said he would take us to court for his loss of time dealing with the car...... took the car back to have it fixed finally on 1-4-24 and after they did the exhaust and pump the say the line blew and was the issue and never quoted it from last repair never brought it up and the exhaust they did front the headers to the cat back the gasket was blown out and missing bolts highly recommended not doing business with them child's garage is just a waste of time employees can't do there jobs correctly and they allow managers on clock to bash people's wife after we also just spent 500 on fixing there mistake again from them cracking a power steering line read more

Had a 9AM appointment to get 4 new tires. Was told when I set up the appointment that the price would be something like $650. When I dropped off the car this morning I was told the price would be $730.... when I objected he dropped a $30 equipment putting the price at just over $700. I agreed to pay that and asked how long it would take to git r dun. I was told 1 hour, 1.5 hours tops. So, I got my dog out of the car and took him for a tour of a part of West Allis he had not sniffed yet. We walked 30 mins in one direction land then headed back. We arrived back at Midas just a bit past 10:00. This is when I realized they had not even moved my car in to get started!! I put my dog back in the car and went to get my key. Also, when I told my wife about this, she told me this was the car shop that told her (when she went in for an oil change months earlier) that a mechanic there told her that if she didn't get her brakes replaced immediately she was taking her life into her own hands. (I did not realize that I was taking my car to that same place). Soon after she was told about her brakes I checked them. (I've done a ton of brake jobs) they were fine! I WISH I could rate this place lower than one star. If anyone could avoid this place - DO IT! I went in for an exhaust repair (what Midas is known for) and it was a disaster. The technician did a careless, hasty and amateurish job by cutting corners where the work was not worth the arm and leg I was charged. Then a day later, my check engine light was on giving codes that related to what I originally went in to have fixed. I returned to the shop to be figuratively slap in the face with another estimate for nearly four thousand dollars stating a new problem. I called the district general manager and he called the shop to have my car brought in - WHY In The Hell would I EVER trust your business again? (Fool me once, shame on you but fool me twice - I am a dumb ass!) Well I choose not to be a dumbass, so I went to another establishment and they fixed it for a few hundreds dollars. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and retaining an attorney. read more

Overcharged me for what I brought my car in for when I got my car back the abs, traction control light and two other light were on that previous were not. Dishonest! Manager claimed I needed new rear brakes and rear rotors. I told him I would wait. I decided to drop off my car with my mechanic to have the work done. My mechanic: " You don't need new brakes they are still at 70 percent!". I will never return to this Midas. Very shady. read more

They got me in late on a Thursday with what I thought was leaking brake fluid. Turns out it was a bad front rotor, the brake fluid was just pouring out. They gave me a reasonable quote, fixed it immediately and actually took off some charges of services that didn't need to be done. I really liked that they let me go out and look under the car and showed me the issue and the parts. Great friendly guys! read more

The owner guy is very friendly and helpful. Every time I go, I feel that he is doing his best to help me at a reasonable price. They never have done anything to my car without first asking and giving me a cost estimate. If they tell me that they found something else to repair and I say no, they accept my answer without argument and they respect me enough as a customer to not push it. I have never had them throw in hidden fees or add charges to my bill that I did not verbally agree too... Which it's messed up that auto repair shops do that in the first place... But I've been taking my car here for the last two years solely because of how Kent runs his business. Today was my first time using this shop, and I was very happy I chose them. I brought my car there because I was visiting family out of town and thought I needed my brakes done, but after looking at everything Midas honestly told me that I did not need new brakes yet. It is refreshing to deal with such an honest shop. I also found their employees very friendly and helpful (especially Maggie and another service technician). OUTSTANDING FAST GREAT SERVICE! PROS: Quick diagnosis Extremely Knowledgeable / Fast Honest / Good Prices Waiting room comfortable with TV, decorative fireplace, magazines and even smells good. Very warm and friendly. CONS: Seriously not one. They were truly the best! We had a car emergency while driving on the expressway from the Chicago area to Minnesota, where our car started making a loud sound - the type you know you have a problem. At this point we were royally "$*^@ed" and at the mercy of a random car repair center, which is never a good spot to be in. We pulled off the expressway and fortunately found this Midas in West Allis, WI. Mark, the manager test drove our car to hear the sound for himself, then put our car on the lift. Mark and his employee, Pat, immediately diagnosed that the parking brake shoe lining had rusted and pieces fell got stuck between the brake and the rotor. He explained this happens when you don't use the parking brake, then use it after many years, which was coincidentally exactly what happened. Mark was straight-forward with what the issue was, that the parking brake had broken, and was honest in letting us know while they can also repair our back brakes, they were still in good condition, and not a necessity. We explained we wanted to get back on the road as soon as possible since we still had a very long drive ahead of us. Mark said they can clean out the debris and resolve the issue with the sound and then the car would be fine to drive, but the parking brake should get fixed when we can. You cannot imagine what a HUGE RELIEF it was that we did not get taken for a costly ride, and that they quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it so we could be back on the road quickly. I highly recommend this Midas in West Allis, WI for above and beyond service!!! read more

Instead of visually check of the brakes needs replacement, they forced the issue by removing the pads and said we cannot put it back and there was a charge of more than $500 for one Axel. I was forced to have them do the work as I needed to take the car and leave. The dealer cost was $100 plus cheaper. Will never do business with them again and will never recommend to anyone. I took my wife's car for a brake job. I was pretty sure it would need a complete brake replacement front and rear. This shop is honest and fast. I only needed front brakes and the job was done same day within a few hours. When you find a good shop, you keep going there. Trust is the key and they run a good honest quality operation here. This was my first visit to Midas and I must say it was a wonderful experience. I went to O'Reilly auto parts first to get my headlight bulb changed. The employees there tried to help me fixing the headlight but in the process they lost the bulb retainer clip. Not their fault, but I had to waste 1 hour on it and then take the trouble of finding another retainer clip which was nearly impossible as the hyundai dealer said I would have to buy complete headlight assembly kit as they don't sell spare clip. Finally, today the MIDAS fixed it in 10 minutes for free. You don't get such customer service and auto repairing skills everywhere. Definitely they are worth 5 stars. read more

Called and talked to Randy to make an appointment for several days later for an oil change. Made it very clear that my oil filter would need to be special ordered. Part of the reason I called in advance to make an appointment. I reaffirmed time and date of appointment before ending my phone called. Several days later I showed up for my appointment and they didn't order my oil filter or have me scheduled for my appointment.... Very inconvenient. read more

First time customer, got a flat this morning the day before we might get snow. Mark was able to fit me in this evening after work. I arrived early, but they still started working on my car almost right away. I needed the TPMS sensor replaced and was told it'd be around 30 minutes to fix, yet they were done in 15. About a year ago I had a similar problem on my old car and was quoted $350 at another national competitor, Midas charged me $140. Mark was super friendly and helpful...he referred to me by name the entire time I was there...such a small gesture but its so nice (especially from such a large chain). Will definitely be bringing my car back when it needs service (although I hope I don't have to anytime soon!!). read more
