The guy proceeds to tell me I can't get more information even though I already got the verbal verification from my own dad that I need to call them and tell them to not mail us shit because my dad doesn't owe them shit. This company is trash! Group of debt buyers, they sent me letters telling me the judge had already made a judgment in an attempt to make me pay, sad mofos. They would call an average of 15 calls a day, blocked! I called to make arrangements on a debt, they became very stern & heavy handed, haha , whatever! I know my rights & stuck it to these amateurs. I hired an attorney, paid less than half of what I owed. They will use the local courts to make you pay, do yourself a favor & hire a debt attorney. Most have payment & flexible plans. I paid off a debt in April 2022. 6 Months later MCM began stalking me claiming I owed them $9020. I sent them copies of the checks paid in their name 2 times, each time claiming they didn't receive them. Finally the third time I sent copies of the payment checks to their two offices (CA and MI) requiring signatures. Finally today I received verification the bill was paid off 11-12-2022. They have intentionally ruined my credit for 2 years! because somehow they "lost" $9020 in checks they received while keeping the debt on my credit report. Scam organization wildly unprofessional, predatory, and rude , basically a timeshare for junk debt. Read the Glassdoor and Reddit threads before speaking to them. If you get a summons, go to court and fight it; apparently these get thrown out all the time--and we, the consumers, don't fight back. Your debt was insured, and you have no agreement with this organization, so null and void, they just prey on intimidation and lack of knowledge. read more

On 10/9/2024, I contacted Midland Credit Management. They asked that I email them that I was no longer being represented by Clarity Debt Resolutions. I emailed them and informed them that I had discontinued my services with them. I spoke to someone who verified the email and was able to review my account and provided a settlement offer of $1,902.04 to settle the account. On 10/18/2024 I logged in to their portal, where the settlement offer was supposed to be presented. The offer was not there, so I called and spoke to a rep who reviewed the notes and went ahead and updated the site. After which, the offer showed up on their portal. I paid the settlement offer amount in full on their website, and the portal showed that the account was at $0.00 and closed. At that point, I was still on the phone with the rep and he informed me that they would be sending me a letter that stated that account had been settled and closed. After waiting about 3 weeks, I checked my credit report and I had a drop in it. It showed that I owed $475.51. I logged into the Midlands Credit portal, and the portal shows that I owe them that amount. So, I called customer support to find out what was going on. As soon as the rep pulled up my account he said that since I was being represented by Clarity Debt Resolutions that there was nothing they could do. I explained that I had already emailed them that I had terminated those services and had received a settlement offer. He was just dense and would say he could do nothing. I asked him for a supervisor. He stated that the supervisor would say the same. I explained that I needed someone who would review the history in order for them to see that they had been working with me, hence proving that they had known I was not being represented by Clarity. The rep kept insisting that the manager would say the same thing so I told him to just get a supervisor and stop arguing. He asked for me to hold, and after several minutes he informed me he was transferring me. It was obvious from the moment that the supervisor answered that the rep had basically coordinated to just say the same thing. The guy who identified himself as the Manager said his name was Mark Dawson, but had a very heavy Asian or Middle-Eastern accent. I provided all the details, went so far as to explain how could I have accepted the settlement offer and paid it off if they weren't working for me. He just said I had to send an email, which I said I could resend. They he took a while to find the email address. I asked, don't you know your own email address? He said that he did not have access to it so I would send it to another department and wait 24 - 48 hours for them to remove that comment from my account. I was incensed, since the last time I sent it the rep had checked their email immediately and had been able to work with me. This moron, who refused to get anyone above him, said that he was the manager and I would not be transferred to anyone else. I told him, I need someone that can access an email and follow up, and he refused and said he was the manager and no one else would help me. So, now, I forwarded the previous email to the new email he provided. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and now am requesting that not only should they honor the settlement offer that I accepted, but also need to remove the negative collection entry in my report. I had not asked for that negotiation previously, but now they've affected my score again and are not wanting to honor the settlement. I dealt with them in good faith, and these scumbags have violated their agreement. They are trash, and I had praised them for their professionalism only to be slapped with this crap. So, my suspicion that Midland was reneging on their agreement was correct. As I said in my previous post, they reneged on their offer but still cashed the original check. Now they claim my wife owes them another $1700 and they've renewed their harassment campaign. The difference is now she is armed with knowledge, specifically that because she is disabled, they are prohibited from collecting anything from her. For anyone who is disabled or receiving a pension including Social Security, do your research because we found out even if Midland gets a judgement, they can't collect on most retirement incomes or disability incomes. They have a delivery agent that picks up payments in person while wearing a shirt with the MCM/Encore logo to verify their ID if you missed mailing in a payment. They're amazingly helpful and understanding about medical debt costs and prefer to randomize the payments to make it extremely affordable. read more

What a Joke!!!! I had to reach out to this company because they showed up on my credit report. After an entire day of going back and forth my account was resolved. They stated that they would send a letter stating the account was closed. Because of course they don't do it via email. I waited for it to arrive via mail and when I called back he didn't even have my unit number, nor did he apologize for having incorrect information. Of course they had the right information when they tried getting money from me. They did nothing but harass me when I told them the account had no actual affiliation with me and I sent disputed and information through the credit bureaus. It was removed from the credit and they still called me when I already told them to stop. This people aren't even from America. This company hires a bunch of rude Indian workers overseas who are unapologetic and don't acknowledge their mistakes. Steer clear of this company because it's not even worth the stress. I left emails telling them I don't owe what they saying they are collecting for. But then I get a email back saying the email you sent to is full and is not expecting any emails at this time. So I waited for a couple days and the same thing happened. So I called told the person I was taking to I didn't owe this debit they were calling and trying to collect for. He tried to to argue with me and and tell me I did. First of all I know who I owe and I'm up to date. This place needs to hire people that are not High School drop outs with a 6 grade education. I'm not sure if it was just my experience but whoever I spoke with wasn't very friendly. I asked maybe three questions and l their tone shifted and it sounded like their getting annoyed. She wasn't very clear with some steps I need to take. I think she hung up on me so I had to call Again and the second girl I talked to was basically saying I'm in the wrong for not understanding the first girl I talked to even though it was because of the first girl that I call again and get everything situated. The second girl did explain things the first girl didn't. I just think there is a a lack of customer service. If i could leave negative stars I would. MCM has been a nightmare to work with. They took over my debt 2yrs ago, they started garnishing my wages which was fine. I understand, BUT tax season of '24 rolls around and they took my taxes to pay of the balance which was also OK because I should've been done with them right? WRONG. After they got their cut I was issued a refund check for 1600 and that was the beginning of june. Then they continued to garnish my paychecks for another month and a half, finally mid august I get a letter that officially states the order for garnishment has been removed and my account is paid off, and if there was any over payment I'd receive it via check. I waited for 3 months and no additional checks came. I called them and they told me that I was owed 3 refund checks aside from the 1600 they already sent. I told them I never got those so they transfered me to another specialist in a different department. This woman told me that the checks were being sent to my employer but that they'd request new checks to be sent since it had been so long. I wait 2 more months and nothing. Then I call back and this lady tells me she can update the address so it can be sent directly to me. I did that and waited another month only to have to call back yet again and be told that the woman made a mistake and they are not able to make changes to the address. So they claim to send it out again. They even gave me the tracking numbers for each check. But once again months go by and nothing, then I call back AGAIN. This time the lady tells me all the checks were sent out and 2 of them were cashed in august...WTF!!! How did I talk to this many people and no one has ever mentioned this...so she says shes going to put in a request for it to be reviewed and blah blah blah and also put in a order for the 3rd check to be reissued. She said it take approximately 7 days to get back to me, and guess what? I haven't heard a peep. You guys are so unprofessional its not even funny read more

Literally the worst debt collection agency there is. Nobody can answer simple questions. The "legal department " doesn't know processes or time-frames on refunds. They cannot or will not tell you any information when asked and consistently tell me to call back in a week to get nowhere. I owed $92 they took $1800 from my state tax refund, because well apparently they're not required to update the garnishment amount with the court. It has been 18 weeks and still nothing has happened. They officially said they've had my overpayment for the last 2 weeks in my account. But won't tell me when they are going to send out my check or if it has even been looked at. read more

I had some debt that was purchased by them. I called to settle and set up a payment plan with a definitive end date. I called today to pay the remaining balance off early but was quoted $200 more than the payment plan. I asked about the difference and he put me on hold. While on hold he deleted the payment plan so now there is no end date and the balance due changed. I asked to speak to a manager which he would not transfer me to. I asked for a physical address and phone number and he said "Building B" I said, "There is no zip or city?" He quoted some random address that even isn't in Colorado and then gave me a phone number. I looked up the number and it's for Cancer Centers in Colorado (303) 930-0736. He asked what it would take to clear this up and I said to pay the remaining amount due on the payment plan that you just deleted while I was on hold. He said he couldn't do that and offered me a 10% discount. I said forget it. This company is shady and lie. I can't believe that we agreed to something and while I'm on the phone they were like sorry......too bad. If you HAVE to deal with them take screenshots of everything, get things in writing because they will totally bait and switch you. I already filed a BBB complaint and called my attorney. read more

I went to court on 9/01/2023 and I agreed on paying $50 per month. I then received a notice stating that my monthly payments are now $100. I then called and was told that no that wasn't the agreement, and do I have my paperwork. I misplaced it and found it on 1/12/2024 and emailed it to them and now my payments are back to $50 per month. Be aware and please keep your paperwork because they will try to get over on you. read more

I did the chat option since I was at work and couldn't call, my representative (Tim Spinner) ended the chat and refused to answer my questions on why I'm receiving a garnishment that I was not informed of or served papers about.
