I do have days, that seem worse than others, but with therapy, I have been able to manage the physical work day better than expected. This crew, at Martin County Hospital Physical Therapy, has been a true blessing for me several times, not just at the moment, but in the past as well. In Addition, I would like to mention, I have been seen several times in the emergency room for injuries and ailments. Everyone from security, admittance, and emergency room professionals for the most have been very courteous, and very helpful as well; a true blessing. Their was one time, they told me I just had interjection after checking me for COVID, when I was in severe pain. The true diagnosis was severe Clostridium difficile. That was the only time I felt they did not take me serious. I am not the type to rate everyone good or great and I do understand others may have different experiences, this is my honest opinion. Problems take place everywhere. Evaluations most of the time are best after several visits, but not always.

I would strongly advise against going to Cogdell Memorial Hospital or seeing Dr. Travis Eggl SWAT…read moreSurgical Associates LLP, especially for anything surgical. The level of incompetence, poor communication, and lack of coordination between the hospital and Dr. Eggl's office is alarming. I was required to see my primary care physician for a referral, which cost me a $40 copay. I then drove from the DFW area on Friday the 12th and paid another $60 copay for a consultation with Dr. Eggl in Lubbock regarding removal of a cyst on my back. During that visit, Dr. Eggl was condescending and arrogant. I made it very clear that I do not live locally and would only be coming back to town for the surgery. At no point during that consultation did Dr. Eggl or his staff mention that lab work or an EKG would be required prior to surgery. Despite this, the surgery was scheduled for the following Friday. It wasn't until Tuesday the 16th, just three days before the scheduled surgery, that I received a call from Cogdell to discuss the estimated $2,500 financial responsibility. During that call, I was finally informed that lab work and an EKG were required and that Dr. Eggl would not perform the surgery without them. This meant I had to rush back to Snyder the day before surgery to get everything completed in time for Friday the 19th. Then, at 5:00 pm on the 17th, after I had already driven 270 miles back to Snyder for the lab work and EKG, Dr. Eggl's office in Lubbock contacted me to say I would need an additional referral specifically for Cogdell from my primary care physician or the surgery would not be covered by insurance. That would have meant another $40 copay. At this point, I am out $140 in copays, approximately $102 in gas and vehicle mileage, and significant time off work. I am also now unable to have the surgery completed before the end of the year, which means I cannot apply it toward my current insurance coverage. To make matters worse, I am still receiving calls from both Cogdell and Dr. Eggl's office asking me to confirm that I will be at the hospital at 7:00 am for surgery, despite all of the above. There has been no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to acknowledge the inconvenience or financial loss caused by their lack of communication. There is no chance I would allow a surgeon to operate on me under anesthesia when he or his staff failed to communicate basic pre-operative requirements for a procedure scheduled a week in advance. If they cannot manage something this simple, I have zero confidence in their ability to manage patient safety. This entire experience has been a complete waste of time, money, and effort. The communication is terrible, the customer service is worse, and patient satisfaction clearly is not a priority. Please do your due diligence before trusting Cogdell Memorial Hospital or Dr. Travis Eggl. In situations like this, your health and safety truly may depend on it. Collin McCarty, Hospital Administrator, this situation reflects a serious breakdown in your staff and provider coordination and needs immediate attention.

As an adult who married a Cystic Fibrosis patient and living in Odessa, ten hours away from the CF a clinic and his doctors.. MCH was nowhere near what we needed for my husband during a difficult health moment and I will say, this is a way smaller hospital than what my husband is used to and they don't really know about CF and what's needed. Transfer orders took forever, there was so much confusion on the Odessa side when the Houston side had everything figured out and were waiting for us. When we would talk to the nurses and doctors, they wouldn't listen. Respiratory took over a day to visit, good thing we brought our own meds, which they then took downstairs to check into their system to bring it back up so he could do his treatments and we never received our medicine. They never came back with it. OUR meds that we brought. We know that MCH is not where we will go next time. For smaller less concerning needs, it's fine. For us, we will just drive to Houston next time.

*** mammogram review only ***…read more First a side story... Earlier this year, the Covenant Health Hospital in Hobbs, NM, took good care of my dad after some issues I'd rather not get into because it's his business. I was actually impressed with the communication all of his health care team had been providing him with. They even allowed my mom (who is also technically elderly) to stay the night in his room and visit him whenever she could. I met a couple of the nurses that had been taking care of him and they were all courteous and professional. THANK YOU! Today, Friday, December 13, 2024, I had a somewhat last-minute mammogram yet again at this facility. Once again I was seen by the fabulous radiologic technologist, Sarah. Check-in with the security guard went smooth. As did with two other employees. (The second employee I saw re-registered me with the hospital and the third communicated to my tech that I had arrived.) The facility is still clean and well-maintained. I enjoy going here for my mammograms because it's simple, quick, clean, and painless - but I should note I have an overall high pain threshold. If you do not tolerate pain, just say that - they will take measures to be as gentle as possible. The time that I entered the mammography room to exiting out of the hospital was probably not even 15 minutes. Glad my doctor referred me here again because now we have comparisons from last year... plus Sarah was great! TIP Don't be hesitant or fearful about getting your boobs squished. Just go here if you get the recommendation!
