He helped by listening to what we wanted and by advising every step of the way. I cannot fault the company for any part of their service. I cannot say enough good things about them, I would recommend to anyone who had to deal with that unfortunate circumstance. It was the first time I had got to do anything like that and the people around you can make a difference and Allens certainly helped me deal with my loss and the events the followed that I had to organise. If I should ever find myself needing to use the services of a funeral director in the future I would never use anyone else.

I always stand in the same area on my visit which someone had said historically was the correct area. This year I decided to check in the office. The lady gave me a map but also grabbed her coat and showed me in person to make sure I had the right place. As it happens, it was the right place but confirmation was very satisfying. They were more concerned with easing the grief we were suffering and not gouging us when we were vulnerable. John went above and beyond by always answering our calls ( anytime of day/night) and answering questions (even if they were repeat questions, as you aren't functioning when you're in shock). Paula was my first contact with the company who at once made me feel comfortable and at ease. She in turn introduced me to her colleague Chris, both of which were so supportive and helpful in this dreadful of times. Not only help scheduling the date and time of the funeral but also for organising the minister, the crematorium and organist, the vehicles/drivers, flowers and charity donations plus all my own specific requirements. These things were done with their constant support and reassurance while I was trying to deal with the loss of my Mother. Nothing was ever too much trouble. A special mention to the drivers of the hearse and family/friends cars. Many thanks for your help and kindness. The Chapel used is multi faith and has very neutral decor which is done very tastefully. Very comfortable inside, with a seperate room for close family to sit in before the service and a viewing area for flowers afterwards.
