The membership is very reasonable for not only what's included in the facility but the environment of it and with 24 hour access; the accessibility of which you can do so. It's also very conveniently located between Wasilla and Palmer. This might not be a gym with everything you personally believe you need. It may not be a gym with the newest equipment. It may not have any leisure sports, activities, or clubs included. But it does have personality. It does have great ownership. It does have great community. It does have necessities. It does have motivated members. It does have personal time management utilization. No other gym in the valley, let alone Anchorage compares. There is only one gym where you can walk in at anytime, be called by name without checking a card or ID, have access to a variety of great equipment, not pay a crazy amount for access, and be motivated and have everything you need to chase your fitness goals. The sauna glass looked rusty, the pool was heavily chlorinated, and the splash pad was absolutely disgusting--the bucket where water pours out was corroded and dirty. I would not want my child near it. The hot tub in the locker room was surrounded by cracked, rotting wood. Nothing looked well-kept or cleaned daily. For the steep membership price, I expected a resort standard. Instead, it felt neglected. On top of that, they require a 12-month commitment, written notice, and hefty cancellation fees up to $500. I can't justify joining under these conditions. Alaska Club's have a bad reputation for good reason.
