I was first a patient of Dr. Scott Neuburger, but now my new schedule has be seeing Dr. Andrea Bonilla (she's great!). They have onsite parking, a fairly open schedule, they send you text reminders (and phone calls). I had rotator cuff surgery on my right side about 10 years ago and I was willing to try anything to avoid going through that again! I always check Yelp reviews when I don't know where to start and I found Mac H's review for Sculpt U. His story was basically the same as mine, so I set up an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Ryan online. We spent an hour discussing my concerns and Dr. Ryan explained his protocol - twice a week for 4 weeks to eliminate the pain and begin re-educating my muscles to work properly. I decided it was worth the upfront payment to try and avoid surgery. I immediately saw a difference at Sculpt U. In my previous PT experience, the therapist would manipulate my shoulder/arm for maybe 10 minutes and then I'd get stuck in a corner doing exercises on my own. They also saw multiple clients at the same time, so I never felt like I was getting 1:1 attention. And doing the exercises without supervision meant that I could be doing things wrong. But at Sculpt U, you get undivided attention from Dr. Ryan (or Dr. Clay). I experienced a 90% reduction in pain by the end of my 5th session. Everyone in our group was very satisfied with our massages afterwards and feel like we want to go to more Thai massage places now. I am just sad that this place is not near where I live and that we just went here on vacation. I made a reservation ahead of time for us all via phone and had to put a 50% deposit down to book. Both times I tried calling, they answered right away; no issues with communicating & with questions I had. When we first entered, they had us fill out some forms, which asked us about things like injuries, pregnancy, where we wanted focused areas. I don't believe my masseuse read the form because she asked me before my massage started where I wanted focused areas, but this wasn't a huge issue for me. I was just curious what was the point of asking it on the form if they didn't look at it; maybe they did & she just wanted to confirm, I'm not sure. At the beginning of my massage, she asked me if stretching was OK, what I wanted focused on, and confirmed I didn't want her to step on my back, which I appreciated all of these being asked. She did stretch me with my permission, which was amazing & exactly what I needed. She made sure to also confirm the pressure of her massages were okay with me as well a couple of times during the massage. Some of my friends got warm beds. Unfortunately, mine wasn't and my room was pretty cold. When the blanket was moved from my body, I was pretty cold. This is probably my only complaint about the entire experience. I definitely want to come back if I'm in the area again.
