Beyond that, I struggle to point to what I paid for. My expectation wasn't just to plead to a lesser charge--that's the basic job of a criminal defense attorney. I expected communication, advocacy, and the feeling that someone was actually fighting for me. Instead he is quite condescding when he even is at fault. Instead, communication was poor. At one point, Brandon referred my mom--who was simply a witness--to another attorney at the another firm. In my opinion, there was no reason my own attorney couldn't have handled that instead of sending me to a colleague and generating another legal bill. It felt completely unnecessary. He will tell you otherwise, but it had no bearing in my case. Things got worse when Brandon went on vacation without telling me. I couldn't get ahold of him, no one showed up when I expected representation in court, and I was left scrambling. I was so frustrated that I took it out on his secretary, and she didn't deserve that. My frustration was with the lack of communication, not with her. When I finally spoke to Brandon, his response was essentially that I had "messed up" and that I was free to find another attorney. That's easy to say after you've already collected thousands of dollars. There was never any discussion of refunding fees or taking responsibility for how the situation was handled. The part that really left a bad taste in my mouth came after everything was over. Suddenly, communication wasn't a problem anymore. I received an email asking me to leave him a positive review, complete with a convenient link. I wish half that effort had gone into communicating with me while I was actually a client. I can't speak for the rest of Roth Davies or its attorneys. This review is only about my experience with Brandon Roth. He obtained a plea agreement, and I'll acknowledge that. But for the amount I paid, the communication, unnecessary referral, and overall client experience fell far short of what I expected. I would not hire him again. I wouldn't even trust him as part of my kid's little league or basketball team, morals left a long ago. Long story short, it was a really ruff patch in my life and I wanted to accept responsibility for my past , get my messes cleaned up and take care of it. I of course was very nervous! I reached out to the law office of Camron Hoorfer and Mr. Hoorfer and his team took my case and immediately got to work! With in a week I had my license back and in less than a month had me in court for my felony case and got my warrant taken care of with out doing any jail time and settled my case with an outcome more satisfactory than I expected! Zero jail time! Mr. Hoorfer and his team are very professional! There communication skills are a higher class! I was kept up to date throughout the whole process and got a response almost immediately anytime I had questions or concerns. I never felt ignored or that any question I had was irrelevant. The paralegal Tabitha Bahorski who helped throughout much of the process was top notch on helping me with difficult paperwork and helping me navigate all of my obstacles after the case had been resolved in court which in my experience with other attorneys doesn't happen... once court is finished the job is done. They are very thorough from start to finish! In court Camron spoke on my behalf very clearly and confidently and I really felt represented. Obviously anyone in court on a felony case is nervous and when you add to that having a warrant for not showing to court for almost 5 years that makes your attorneys job that much more difficult. Serious Concerns Regarding Communication, Billing, and Case Handling:…read more Our experience with the Law Office of Camron Hoorfar, P.C. concerning a property-related lawsuit was deeply disappointing. We retained the firm to prepare and file a petition regarding 10212 Belmont Avenue, paid $7,000 in advances, and repeatedly authorized the firm to proceed with filing. Despite repeated statements that the petition was complete, ready to file, or required only minor revisions, the lawsuit was never filed before the firm terminated the representation. We also experienced significant confusion concerning who the firm represented. The written fee agreement identified myself as "Client," the firm communicated legal strategy directly with him, sent him the petition for substantive review, billed for reviewing his comments, and repeatedly sought his authorization before filing. Later, however, the firm characterized Terren as the sole client and Lonnie as a third-party payor, while also stating in writing that "you are both our clients." Those positions were difficult to reconcile and were never adequately explained. We have serious concerns about the handling of the case materials and billing. The firm billed attorney time to download the evidence repository, but the drafting attorney later appeared not to have access to important folders and documents. The client file returned to us also appeared materially incomplete. We additionally identified discrepancies between the attorney time billed for petition drafting and the recorded editing metadata in several petition drafts, including drafts identifying automated document-generation tools as the creator. The firm terminated the representation shortly after we requested the complete file, trust accounting, billing support, call recordings, preservation of relevant evidence, and limitations on further billing pending review. We now dispute all fees paid and have requested a complete accounting and supporting documentation. We cannot recommend this firm based on our experience. Clients considering representation should ensure that the engagement agreement clearly identifies every client, obtain written confirmation of filing deadlines and case status, request regular complete copies of the client file, and closely review invoices and trust-account activity throughout the representation. PUBLIC WARNING: Regarding the Business Practices and Ethics of Dennis Waits…read more I am sharing this strictly from a crime victim's perspective to warn the public about Dennis Waits' highly questionable billing practices, manipulation of funds, and overall business ethics. After his client was denied bond, a divorce was filed in March, legally freezing all marital assets. Dennis Waits entered the criminal case on March 30. On April 2, he filed a bond review motion where he explicitly acknowledged in writing that a divorce was active.Exactly one week later, a marital IRA check for was issued. The exact same day that check arrived, Dennis Waits completely withdrew the bond motion. The fight to get his client out of jail vanished the second the cash hit his pocket. He promised his client he could get him released, giving someone in a vulnerable position completely false hope just to lock down a contract and use them as a fast payday. When my divorce attorney filed a Motion to Restrain the respondent and his agents from touching the IRA on April 30th, Dennis Waits' immediate response just days later on May 5th was to file a motion to extend the criminal trial out by months. The judge formally signed and granted the restraining order on May 12th. When confronted as a third party holding funds that a family court judge has since officially awarded to me, his excuse was that he "had a lot of hours in" and that his client paid him for legal fees. I have a clear audio recording proving he admitted to taking these frozen funds. Filing a recycled bond motion only to drop it when a check arrives, and then delaying the trial right after a financial restraining order is filed, raises serious questions about his business practices and ethics. When you look into public records, this scramble for fast cash makes total sense. Dennis Waits has a documented history of public state tax liens, including thousands of dollars in unpaid withholding taxes for his own firm's employees. If a lawyer cannot even manage his own business taxes and owes the state, it is no wonder he would questionably pocket frozen family assets without a second thought. The public deserves absolute transparency regarding the business methods of Dennis Waits.
