Talk about a clinically lazy organization. I went to midwest radiology for a series of hip x-rays to see if I had an issue with the hip joint itself. What we received was a 3 line report. In it, it stated right hip has advanced deterioration. Did not send the images. Had to request them. Is this even a scientifically acceptable report. On what scale does "advanced" fall? A monkey could have written this report. What exactly am I paying for here? This is absolute nonsense and I would not recommend. I will say the technician was efficient and professional as well as the other staff I interacted with. But, at the end of the day anyone seeking its services ultimately want to know what a doctor's interpretation of the results are - clearly either the doctor who examined my images is extremely lazy, does not care or someone else submitted the results. Either way, it's absolutely unacceptable. I can hardly wait to see the billing for this worthless interaction based on the other reviews here. I requested a good faith estimate in advance for a particular CPT code but based on this experience, I'm betting it will be based on some other code and cost a lot more than the estimate I received. read more

Went here for an MRI on my knee and the service was great! It's a little tucked in there behind bigger buildings but once you find their parking lot it's easy peasy! I got checked in and filled out paperwork, I didn't have to wait long when the nurse called my name. The nurse who helped me was very nice and answered all my questions. Friendly people working here. One thing I found odd was that in the waiting room there was a sign that read "this area is cell phone free", yet there were no magazines or other forms of entertainment, not even a tv or anything. If they could fix this issue it would be a much more pleasant experience. The furniture was very comfortable as well. Plants are well tended to for the most part. Really liked how the waiting room had a bathroom right in front and that you don't have to wait to go in the back. Lighting was not overly bright, definitely not hospital grade and had a nice orange glow to it. Unfortunately the keurig coffee machine was off limits and that was a real bummer, but luckily I had some before I came here. read more

The incompetence of this organization is so breathtaking that I'm sure there is a must be some sort of record they could win for it- At the very least, they should be giving out medals to anyone who calls their billing department. I received a bill in August for a date of service from June- After some investigation, it seemed they had failed to bill my secondary insurance. Mistakes happen, so I updated them with the secondary's details and was told I would receive a second bill if there was any remaining balance. I received a second bill in September... With the same amount due. I called my secondary insurance and they confirmed they had never been billed for this date of service, and that because it was both over the allowed amount and I had already met my deductible, I would not be billed for the date of service. I called Midwest Radiology to give them the details for my secondary insurance again. They told me they did not have the details for the secondary on file but now that they did, my account would be on hold for a month while they billed it to my secondary. I asked if I could be contacted once it was resolved but was told no, that I would just receive another bill from them if there was any remaining balance. Well- I didn't receive another bill from Midwest Radiology! Instead I got one from a collections agency. When I called Midwest Radiology to suss out what was happening.... And they told me they did not have the details for the secondary on file but now that they did, my account would be on hold for a month while they billed it to my secondary. (Sound familiar?) Since I had contacted them within 30 days of the bill being sent to collections, apparently they could still rebill to insurance... And I would receive another bill from them if there was any remaining balance. After not hearing from either Midwest Radiology or the collections agency for awhile, I decided to call Midwest Radiology again.... And lo and behold, I was told they had never billed my secondary insurance! They didn't have any secondary insurance listed for me. And because they had sent the bill to collections over a month ago (apparently the 'account being on hold for a month' is just something to say and has no bearing on what actually happens), there probably wasn't much they could do to help me at this point.... But perhaps I could give them the details for my secondary insurance if I wanted? (I assume that if those details were actually recorded, they would have been written on a paper plane, sent into a bonfire to join all the other information they collect. It must be well fed fire, I think.) I will be advising my medical providers not to use Midwest Radiology in the future, and would suggest you avoid them if at all possible. read more

I was SO nervous before the scan, but Melissa walked me through each step with a smile on her face and made me feel at ease. Worst place I have ever gone to for an MRI. The expectation is to remove "all" of your clothing and put on their scrubs, with absolutely nothing separating you from the scrubs that likely thousands of others have worn. How unsanitary! You are not allowed to wear your own garment even if the fabric is the same material as their scrubs. They tell you it is their policy and if you don't comply, they won't do the MRI. They will tell you, you are choosing not to have it done after you have taken off work and driven to their site in a pandemic with not the best road conditions, (obviously, you want it done). I asked to see the policy, no one, including management, could tell me where to find and read their policy. The MRI technician said, the policy is not in writing and management said, she didn't know if it was an actual written policy. Sanitation should not have to be questioned in a place where medical procedures are done. At a minimum, one should feel comfortable having a medical procedure done. The socks were sanitary. They were new and wrapped in plastic. How can you manage to assure one's feet are covered with an unworn garment. Also, after a half-hour of discussion, I was able to get an adult brief to separate my body from their scrubs. read more

I came here for an ultrasound and everything from the parking to obtaining a copy of my films and report went as smooth as silk. Everything seemed to be very organized and efficient. My US appointment was right on time if not a little early, the US tech was highly professional and pleasant, and later, when calling for Medical Records, those folks were pleasant as can be. (And you all know how Medical Records Staff can be!) What more can I say? Hopefully you have good health and won't need St. Paul Radiology but if you do need imaging services, this is the place to choose! read more

They are a poorly organized 2nd party vendor which does not keep track of patient information. Took almost a year to get a bill upon which time I no longer had the insurance company I had used at the doctor that send my results to this company. They should get their act together and get their bills out in a reasonable timeframe especially when they want quick payment. read more

They washed their pens in bleach and it got all over my hands and skin. There was no communication, we sat for over a half hour and then I had to ask about his prep for the mri. Not to mention my sons initial appointment had to be rescheduled because they never submitted for prior authorization even though we scheduled his appointment 30 days out. Very disappointing and we wont ever use them again. read more

The doctors and technicians are very professional and competent. Their business office / billing department are nothing short of incompetents and outright thieves. I truly believe they prepare and mail a bill before your procedure is even over. Their billing statements are totally screwed up and basically incomprehensible. Don't ever attempt to call them because you will never reach an actual person. I had scans done in January, and it took 6 months to get the bill resolved. 3 separate bills: you owe $350, no you owe $550, no you owe $900. I paid the $350, which I knew was correct. They proceeded to send it to collections anyway. After sending the collection agency a letter with all supporting paperwork, they replied that my account was paid in full. Avoid this place if at all possible unless you want paperwork / phone call problems that give you a migraine. read more

This place has the worst billing department ever. They fail to contact me and bill my insurance in a timing manner and now they are telling me that it is my responsibility to pay. Had the worst experience. I had to call them back and forth about this issue and it was such a headache. The billing supervisors doesn't know what they are doing either. read more

A dr questioned portions of the pet ct scan ( which St Paul radiology performed .) I requested a peer review. No response other than another pet ct should answer my questions. What!? Do they recognize we pay for these scans? Do they have so little confidence in their work that they won't perform a peer review or quality control when requested? I don't recommend this business unless you wish to pay for additional scans!!! read more

St. Paul Radiology hates veterans, period. They are contracted to provide exams to veterans who have claims pending for service connect injuries. These exams are free for veterans. The veterans are not to be billed. Payment is handled by a contractor who is then paid by the VA. While the in-clinic medical staff is courteous and professional, the business staff makes it clear they hate veterans by not following the guidelines of the contract and billing the veterans directly. I've made multiple attempts to have this issue resolved with the clinic and their third party vendor with no success. I'll probably end up having to pay the bill so my credit testing is not impacted. If you're a veteran struggling with a health issue, and you're told to go here for your x-rays or scans, be prepared for the nightmare that follows. In layman's terms, Integrity means doing what's right when no one is looking. I left this definition in the hopes that someone in billing or management sees this and learns something. read more

Entire experience was an absolute nightmare- if I could give 0 stars I would. First off they did my husband's CT incorrectly without contrast so they took him back to complete it with contrast. They billed us for 2 CT scans and when I called to dispute I was treated like an idiot despite being a doctor myself and they refused to remove the charge. Then they proceeded to send a bill through the wrong insurance that we received in July (my husband was hospitalized in February). I called to explain the wrong insurance was used from a prior year and they made me fax in a copy of our new card. I was told to disregard my upcoming bill because they would not get and process the new insurance information by the time the bill was automatically generated, so I did. Next thing I know we get a letter from collections stating we hadn't paid our bill. I called back and got the same runaround and poor treatment again and had to pay the collections agency. Needless to say, they are incompetent clinically and have horrible billing practices. I go out of my way to avoid any facility using them for radiology services for anyone I use and no longer refer to them either. Truly a disgraceful company. read more

been xrayed by Saint Paul radiology twice last 15 years no problems My son xrayed by them they got paid by insurance and then already paid in full they referred to collection. Their billing person played dumb -- yeah the insurance didnt pay because they paid already -- seems they tried to collect double. MN atty general questioned their billing practices -- google it. After working in the medical field all my employed life, I know how things work somewhat. First off, I have to say that the techs working here are good. Unfortunately, I have to give St. Paul Radiology a bad grade for their billing practice. I had an MRI in November and got a bill for two months, which I paid down. My balance was under $100. The last bill I got was in January, I never received another bill, a phone call or any form of correspondence. They sent me to collections! I paid the bill but will use their rival CDI if I need any further x-rays. Just try to get ahold of anyone in their office is also difficult. The billing is done in Indianapolis. read more

My nurse was trying to schedule a regular Ultrasound with this clinic and they made it uneasy for my nurse and also refused to perform it there. They said they don't have a doctor on site to look at it or specialized it. All my nurse really need is to just have it done there and have their radiologist read it and that's it. They don't necessarily need a doctor present for the exam but no, they made the situation hard for me and my nurse. So I will not recommend them to anyone in the future nor would I support them anymore. read more

On 7/12/18 I had an ultrasound of the scrotum/testicles (my doctor had to write an order for it) at St Paul Radiology Outpatient Imaging in Eagan, MN; results were communicated to my doctor. Shortly after I received the invoice for $549.04 which included the ultrasound done ($142.55) plus a $406.49 charge for a vascular study. I knew the tech at St Paul Radiology had not draw blood on me or injected me with a dye, so I asked my doctor about whether he had ordered the vascular study, he said no. I handwrote a note on the bill stating the vascular study was never done, to send me an updated bill. I did not hear from them until 9/17/18 when I received a final notice dated 9/4/18 threatening with initiating collection procedures on my account. My Dr. contacted them earlier on 9/18/18 and told them he never requested the cardiovascular study; they told him it would be corrected. After talking to my doctor I then called St Paul Radiology to make the $142.55 payment. I was told by B*** that my account was on hold and still showing a $549.04 balance. I told her I had sent the original invoice back asking for a corrected one, she said they never received it. I asked for a detailed invoice and asked for the name and contact information to address my written complaint; B*** said she had been taking notes that would be added to my account. I said I wanted to talk to someone else; she transferred me to H****, a supervisor. H**** told me that I wrote on the invoice, and that is not the way of responding - presumable if there was no check with my returned statement, no one forwarded my communication to the appropriate recipient. I filed a complaint with BBB. BBB forwarded my complaint to St. Paul Radiology. St Paul Radiology responded stating "This exam that was ordered by the physician was for an evaluation and SPR followed protocol for this exam that includes a vascular study. The vascular study was performed and therefore payment is expected". Again, my physician ordered a scrotum ultrasound, not a scrotum ultrasound with a vascular study. If it is St Paul Radiology's protocol to perform both tests, they should have let my doctor know if he needed the extra test for diagnostic purposes or even informed him of their protocol. At the very least, they should had let me know at the time of the test what test additional test they were performing and ask if I was ok with the extra expense; they did not. I informed BBB that was rejecting St Paul Radiologist's response. BBB contacted me stating that St Paul Radiology "had addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer remains dissatisfied". BBB communication to me also states that "Better Business Bureau has determined that the business made a good faith effort to answer the complaint and has now closed it". A good faith effort?! St Paul Radiology did not inform my doctor or me of their protocol, simply went ahead to perform both test and expected payment because "test was performed". not an upfront way of making business. I ended up paying the full amount five days ago using their automated system, today, i received another bill!!! VMR 9/28/2018 read more
