Jamie W and I didn't waste any time exploring the Old City because that's what all the YouTube vloggers said to do on a first visit to Valencia. As we sauntered the historic alleyways between the Central Market and Valencia Cathedral, both massive structures, we came upon this compact tapas spot just as we started feeling peckish. There was an outdoor table available, so we just grabbed it.
First we ordered a trio of 3€ Pinchos which were sold as a unit - wedges of crusty rustic bread topped with tortilla (egg), cheese with almonds, prosciutto with marinated olives, respectively (Photo 8). It was a classic traditional start to our bites. Then we shared a trio of Gildas - two 2,5€ tapas with anchovies, olive, and green pepper, the third was a 2,8€ version with white anchovies (Photo 9).
Our last tapas were the heartiest and most satisfying, the 8€ Tortilla stuffed with brie cheese (Photo 10). We stopped because we already had paella in mind for dinner. It turned out to be the right amount of food for a late afternoon snack, and the execution was exactly what we expected from a popular tapas bar in the middle of Valencia. Too bad we missed out on the tasty-looking sangria.
