Horrible experience. They charged me $50 have had a plumber come to my home to check the water leak issue. But the plumber ONLY came over to give me a quote for reviewing the issue at $275. He also gave me a quote for the repair of $750 - all this without looking at the issue/leak. I said they could have said this over the phone and not charged me the $50 just to come over to tell me this. They did nothing, charged me $50 and left. Rip off!!!!!! read more

I called them for a gas leak and they came out for several days. They provided a 5 yr warranty but after 4.5 years, it started to leak again. They used the wrong material fitting which caused it to leak. Well, 1 1/12 years later....the gas is leaking again. Whatever they did to repair it the 2nd time they came out....it didn't work! I would not recommend them....you need to find a good professional company that does work correctly the first time. And I paid a lot of money for them to fix it the first time....that was a waste! read more

Purchased there home protection plan. They took my money and then you make an appointment ti get the inspections and they can't give you a time when they'll show up. Very disappointing. Once they get your money your an after though. Plus they are very expensive. Money down the drain. read more

I have been a loyal customer for many years. All their skilled plumbing and electrical technicians have been extremely talented, courteous, patient and customer service oriented. My latest issue has been with my NuGen water softener which Mike's installed 7-years ago. The unit is not softening the water as it's supposed to. The plumbing team has come out over 5 times to troubleshoot with the help of NuGen tech support. The Mike's techs know what the issue is but NuGen will not warranty the resin media without running dozens of troubleshooting steps. The Mike's techs have been nothing but professional and helpful throughout the exhausting troubleshooting process. This past Saturday, I was expecting them to come replace the brine tank. I received a call from their main number but was not able to answer the call when it came in. I immediately called back and Ida answered my call. I informed her that I had missed a call from them but she insisted that they had not called me. I asked her if I was Calling Mike's P & E and she said yes. Again, I told her I had received a call from this number and she insisted they hadn't called but it may have been a technician that called to inform me they were on their way. She sounded bothered by my call. I know what good customer service sounds like and this exchange was not pleasant. Especially towards a customer who has spent thousands of dollars at this company over the yesrs. I would recommend that Ida either get more customer service training or stops answering the phone and dealing with customers if she's bothered or thinks she's too busy to be pleasant and courteous. It is obvious that all of Mike's P&E technicians are highly trained and competent. But Ida, a person who has a somewhat simple job does a terrible job of making their customers seem valued. I was very disappointed with Mike's yesterday. The technicians showed up on time and did an excellent job, as usual. read more

Mike's Plumbing was recommended to me twice, once by Faris Plumbing and the next time was from my daughter that just lives down the road from me by 3 and 1/2 miles. Both times we had to get them a credit card number and both appointments "on the day of" were cancelled because "they do not service the McCook area that I live in". Then why did the service my daughter's home just 4 months ago! I do not recommend Mike's Plumbing to anyone that lives within their area of service, because you can not depend on them. The first service call was scheduled more that a week later and the next was to be the next day. My advice to seek out better rated companies. read more

Terrible experience. Our water heater went out a little over 2 years ago. Mike's came out and recommended a tankless water heater instead because it would last longer and be more efficient. They charged us almost 4k with wiring and instalation and let us know it would need maintenance. They came out in March of this year to do maintenance and said everything looked good. All of a sudden our heater went out a couple of weeks ago and they sent someone out. The person that came out charged us $ 178 to to say that it was not fixable and would not be covered under warranty because of "poor water quality" and that it was normal for the machine to out around 2 years because of this in the valley, since we have terrible water quality. They recommended that it be completely replaced. Never once were we told that it would only last us 2 years or even that they recommend a water filter or something to help extend the life of the water heater. I called around to several other places here in the valley and 100% of other places said that they had never heard of that model going out in such a short time because of "water quality" one place told us it should have lasted at least 5 years and all the others are saying 7-8 years. Mike's told us the only thing they can do is charge us for a full other instalation and new heater. Terrible service. read more

If I could rate this company any lower, I would. I made an appointment to have a plumber look at my sink drain and pipes to make sure everything was good to install a garbage disposal and dishwasher. I made the appointment a week and a half earlier. THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, they call me to say they wouldn't be honoring the appointment because they weren't actually installing the equipment. They never mentioned there was an issue and they gave us no time to find another plumber before the equipment was to be installed. Low class company..never again read more

Bad experience. A ripping off customer kind of gig. There techs are ok just the company charges so much. I live in RGV area and as soon as I left the tech was asking my wife for her number. That really pisses me off coming from an ex Marine. They are semi professonal at what they say not do. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Look it up at youtube its free. Learn alittle bit of AC trust me people it will save you alot of money especially from crooks like MIKES. We have called them over 4 times so we had 2 WEEKS OF WARRANTY and still got charged. Since my knowledge of AC systems is minimal at best, I appreciated the explanations the technician gave me and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Excellent service! In the aftermath of Hurricane Laura my tenant's hot water heater sprung a leak and the water shut off. I called Mike's and they got a supervisor out there that day, he attached a shut off valve and installed a new hot water heater the next day. The amount is exactly as quoted with no surprises. The plumber was pleasant and thorough. I would definitely recommend them and will continue to call on them for our future needs. read more

Mike's Plumbing & Electric is terrible hired them to install a tankless water heater at my house. It was done incorrectly and almost burned down my home. Don't use this company, I had to hire another electrician to correctly install the tankless water heater. Incompetence is the best way to describe them No Sir you haven't worked with me on this issue, it cost me an additional $1700 to fix what you were hired to do. I demanded that you cover $1000.00 of the work I had to pay for. You refused. So don't give me your pious statement about working with me. Called & made appointment for the next business day. This company does not provide a detail bill. Your bill is just the TOTAL AMOUNT. The tech, KRIS, Journey Foreman, quoted me some prices & I went with the lowest, of course. I called the office to see about bill details. I was told that I was charged for a "maintence plan" which I specifically asked Kris if there was a charge and/or a monthly fee. He told me, NO & NO! Two things I detest in a human being is a LIAR & A THIEF!! RECORD your conversations with their techs as they will tell you they never said what you were told. I wasn't given a maintence contact & was told I have a year with Mikes & a 6yr pro-rated warranty with Rheem on my hot water heater. Their LABOR WAS A LOT MORE THAN THE TOTAL COST OF THE 40 gal HOT WATER HEATER. Service call is $50 read more

I had noticed a dark spot in my daughters closet I emailed Mike's plumbing and within minutes I received a follow up phone call From a pleasant young lady by the name of Denise who set up my appointment for the following day technician Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Moreno showed up at my house as scheduled crawled up into my hot attic and informed me that I had several pinhole leaks in the water pipe . an estimate was given and the problem was taken care of they provided me photos of the corroded pipes and repairs that were made although a little pricey I am extremely satisfiedWith the great customer service and the quality of work that I received. I recently used this company for my a/c. I called and was told $30.00 service charge. Ok. When the serviceman arrived, he said it was an additional $90.00 to diagnose the a/c. I said ok to $120.00. He checked the a/c and said it would be $500.00 for freon because it didn't have any. I asked if it has a leak it would leak the freon. He said yes. Wanted to charge $300.00 to find the leak. $300.00 + $500.00=$800.00. Since the freon would leak out, an additional charge to replace the freon that leaked out. $800.00 + additional charge up to $500.00. I paid the $120.00 and said thank you no. I asked for a receipt but never got one. Maybe I should call IRS. read more

We have used Mike's for several years for both plumbing and electrical work. They are higher priced but the work has always been fast and professional. They've always fixed it right the first time. Mikes plumbing told me thy needed to come out to my house to tell me how much they would charge to do a hydrostatic test. On arrival, the technician stated that they could not find the exterior pluming clean out valve and then dug a large number of holes in the yard to try to randomly find it without asking for permission. The technician then tried to pressure me into paying for extremely expensive and overpriced tests before I ultimately asked him to leave. The technician did not even fill in the random holes he dug! I have used them for years. They do the job but cost big bucks. I had two guys with a divining rod trying to find my water line. Weird. No luck. They cut my flower bed watering system which I found today. I warned the guy several times not to dig in that area as I had water lines. He should have fixed it before leaving. If you have plenty of money to spend these are the guys to call. They come right away and appear to be certified. Some were very professional and I would have liked to have them return.
