MiGi Cera Candles have easily become my favorite candles of all time and I will be buying everyone I know a candle from them during the holidays! I recently did a virtual candle making class and truly loved hearing about the story of the business from the owner. You can tell she is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about what she does. The packaging was great and the process of the making the candle was super simple. The fragrance menu is extensive so get ready to choose multiple because they all sound so good. I opted for the 'Little Bed' scent with linen, rainwater, lavender and bergamot. Wow just writing this out makes me want to light the candle. It's so nice after a long stressful day. The candle has soo many burn hours and is a great value for the size and quality that you are getting. Thank you so much MiGi Cera Team!

My team at work did a virtual candle making class with Marcelina for a team building activity. I had the best time! Marcelina shared her passion for candle making and it radiated through the screen! We have done a few of these, and I feel like Marcelina really took the time to get to know us and connect. I also learned a lot about not only how to make a candle, but the proper way to light and care for them. It was so informative! I made the Chiquita/Spoiled Girl scent. It is the perfect mix of sweet and fruity. I love it! My apartment smelled amazing, even just from making it! I would recommend this virtual class to any group. It was fun and we got an awesome candle out of it!

POV from the soap/candle making station

My friend and I decided to switch things up from our usual dinner outings and try a craft night instead. When we arrived, Mari greeted us warmly at the door and got us checked in. We chose to do the soap-making activity, which I've tried before both at home and at other places. It's a straightforward process, and within about an hour we each made three small soap bars. I liked that they had a nice selection of dried flowers, petals, and glitter to customize our soaps. The scents were also fantastic with plenty of options to choose from. The only thing I wish was different is being able to pick more than one scent per soap, and maybe having some natural dyes available to play with. Overall, it was a fun, quick, and easy craft activity--perfect if you're looking for something different to do in about an hour. I'd definitely recommend it for a casual night out with friends.

This was a fun alternative for a girl's night out! I came to try a soap making session with a friend. The location itself is adorable (located inside San Pedro Sq. Mkt) with a wonderful mural and cozy, pink decor. I felt like we had plenty of space at our table to experiment and we didn't feel rushed throughout the process. Mari was a great instructor, totally hyping us up and bringing the best energy. Even though some of the activity is more "self-explanatory", she did a great job at keeping our energy high. As someone who always forgets to take pics, she was totally encouraging and made sure my friend and I walked away with plenty of cute videos and pictures. The experience is about $56 pp after tax + tip. I did find it to be a little pricey but I also understand that this is a small/family business. I do wish that I could've picked 1 custom scent PER soap, rather than being limited to one scent for all 3. Either way, happy to have walked away with my beautiful soaps! Will definitely come back to try their Wine Wednesday deal or take coworkers for a destressing activity.

I haven't been on this side of San Pedro market for a little bit, and I didn't know this cute little shop just opened up! My friend and I smelled a beautiful aroma and had to walk in to find somebody making candles and it was so cute and quaint such an adorable idea! My friend and I didn't wanna make any candles, but they did have some really great solves or body bombs lotions so we ended up buying one for $20! I got this cherry blossom one and they also had a lychee something that smelled really good! My girlfriend got one that was a muscular heavier smell, but she likes stronger sense than I do. Such a cute idea I will definitely have to come back and make a candle or something else!! The lady at the counter was very knowledgeable and friendly as well!! Great service!!

Absolutely adored this winter break relaxing activity! I love candles and one of my BFF's loves candles too. We can here on a weekday early afternoon and had the place to ourselves. The candles are made from quality ingredients and there are over 30 seconds to choose from! Omg that was the hardest part lol. The business is family owned and the service was divine and so welcoming! I would say it's a great value as it's like a mini art class and you get to relax and decorate your candle at the same time! 100 out of 100. I also bought a yummy smelling body butter too .

I recently had a virtual team-bonding experience with MiGi Cera Candles and it was SO fun! Before the class, we got to choose from one of the many scents available. The website has good key descriptors of what each scent has notes of so it's a little easier to choose. We also got to choose if we wanted to add dried flowers or glitter onto our candle which was a fun touch. My kit arrived and it was packaged very well so that nothing was broken in transit. My candle jar was a light purple color, loved it! The class itself was very fun to do. Our instructor was interactive and taught a lot about candle care which I appreciate. All you needed was a microwave so this was a great virtual experience. My candle smells SO good and I love the dried flowers that I added. The wood wick is nice too because of the crackling sound it makes!

We brought our nonprofit team of 7 to enjoy candle-making at MiGi Cera - accidentally on a World Cup night when Mexico was playing. :) Despite the fun chaos of the evening in San Pedro Square, all of our team enjoyed Marcelina, her cute shop, the wonderful supplies, the process, and the finished product. We would recommend MiGi Cera to anyone or any group looking for a fun experience in downtown San Jose. - Julie and Recovery Cafe San Jose

I found out about MiGi Cera Candles on instagram and was so glad I did, because ya girl has been dying to make a candle! My team ended up doing a virtual candle making class with Marcelina for a team offsite and everyone had so much fun. Marcelina was a great host and everyone got really into the process. Not to mention, we all ended the session with a fabulous candle! For the virtual class you choose your fragrance and then they ship everything you need to make your candle, including a vessel that matches your fragrance. Even though making the candle is a relatively quick process, we were able to fill the roughly 45 minute session learning about MiGi Cera and asking lots of questions. Before our virtual class I checked out the shop located within Sueños downtown San Jose, and was blown away by all the fragrances they had! So glad I got to smell them before (I can be sensitive to certain scents) so I could pick out the perfect fragrance to use. They have a huge variety and all fragrances are a blend of multiple scents, so they really are unique to this shop. Love that they also refill candles for half price if you bring them back in. I have two at home, and will absolutely be taking them back for more once they run out.

We went to Migi Cera Candles for a candle making workshop and had such a fun time! Our instructor was super sweet and didn't rush us at all, which I really appreciated. We made the 12oz candles, and what's cool is that you can refill them for just $16 when you're done. Definitely worth it! I had a great time and would totally recommend checking them out!

So I'm on a mad search for some copal to burn in place of frnakinsense and myrrh to show the kids of my church something close to what the mythical magi brought to baby Jesus. It has to be real copal (or real fankinsence/myrrh) as I'm allergic to chemical scenting agents. I look all over the internet and find web based stores, but no brick & mortars in the south bay and I need it in 2 days. I put out two different talk threads on yelp to try to get some advice, but hors go by with no response...So I begin calling around to stores I see on the web, but who don't have internet sites. I call a couple who do not have copal and then hit Santa Josefina. So I get into my car and take the 15 mile treck from work to this store. I drove past it once because there is no outside sign saying "Santa Josefina," and there is no address printed on the building. On my second pass I deduced that since the building on one side was two numbers higher and the one of the other side 2 numbers lower that this must be it. I found parking a block away and as I approached I knew I was in the right place. I saw every order of Catholic Saint and ritual items. The sales clerk (owner?) was sitting somewhat in the back of the store. I told her that I need copal and she says, "Oh, yes." Then I notice that she has frankincense and myrrh. So I buy all three. She kindly tells me that she has sage, too, which is good for smuding at the New Year, but I tell her I have some at home. I ask if she'll take a check and she says, charmingly, "As long as it won't bounce. I stopped taking checks for a while, you know how it is." I assured her that it won't bounce. The neghborhood and store have lots of things that typical WASPY protestants (as I can seem) would not recognize and might make some less open people uncomfortable. But she was the nicest person and very helpful. She was happy that she had what I needed and said she looks forward to seeing me again. This may very well become a regular place for me to seek out ritual items. And the cross-cultural experience makes it that much more charming to me.
