Just ordered food right now at this spot during covid. I was needing to go to the restroom after putting my order in and the employee walked in on me with my pants down, she said that the restrooms are closed because of health concerns, that I need to go to Target to use the restroom. I told her I really needed to go if she could make an exception I was driving from San Diego and she waited for me to pull my pants up and leave. It was humiliating! My husband owns a restaurant and there are several restaurants that have restrooms opened, I think it's terrible that management is not allowing their customers to use the restroom. Unfortunately when arriving to this Miguel's the drive through was completely packed. I decided to walk in. I noticed that the employees were working very slow and had multiple complaints for waiting but I don't care so much for waiting. So I didn't mind that portion. What I did mind is I have a dairy allergy and I asked for bean and rice burritos. I had asked for a lot of salsa and when I asked for more before leaving, the lady serving me rolled her eyes to grab more. There was cheese on the outside of my completely broken tortilla and I was unable to eat it because I have an allergy that requires an epi-pen. So, I am an "OG" Miguel's Jr. lover. I have eaten more burritos from this chain than I care to admit. At one point when I worked in Corona I had Miguel's Jr. at least two days a week because they supplied our schools with burritos as part of the regular lunch program. So, I know my way around Miguel's Jr and when you need a filling, delicious mostly authentic Mexican meal, this is the place. Unfortunately today our experience was not great. First of all, I just wanted to add some chiles to my burrito but the young woman helping me was going to charge me $6 for the addition! (?) She was young and was doing her best, but we could never work it out so I gave up. So, after ordering our food we sat down in the very well air conditioned dining area. It's 100 degrees outside today so that's amazing, but as another reviewer stated, it was actually a little too cold for kids and those sensitive to the cold. Seems Ike they were more concerned with the workers who were surely hot (it's hard to blame them but yeah...). As I was getting my soda I noticed one of the employees had forgotten that I ordered no rice in my burrito and I saw her open it up and shovel it out into a different tortilla. No big deal but it made me question other practices occurring. Then when we went up to ask for additional forks and spoons we had to wait quite some time for anyone to help us, let alone acknowledge us. On the way out the same young woman who took our order said goodbye, and honestly that means a lot to me. So, overall the food was quite good but there wasn't the sense of appreciation from anyone there for us as customers minus the high school or college age female employee. It's like they don't clean up their work stations. The drive thru person was also not personable and ignored me while I was waiting for my food. I've always loved Miguel's Jr. but I've been really disappointed in my experience with this particular Miguel's Jr. When we order their famous Bean Rice and Cheese burritos, or even the El Potato with cheese we're always disappointed to find that the cheese is cold and not melted. I took my sister here this last week and she ordered an El Potato burrito with chicken and the cheese was cold and not melted so we took it back and she asked them to heat the cheese. They remade her burrito and this is what we got. The burrito was literally dripping water and grease. It was a very disappointing experience and my mom hardly goes there anymore because of these constant repetitive issues despite her talking to them in advance. Ordered through the Drive thru, no problem. Got to the window. And I had some gift cards since Christmas. I Had no idea that the $5 bonus ones expired. Instead of being told that they expired since March, I was yelled at and told that she ran the card 3 times and it failed that they expired. Ok cool. I have another gift card for $25 just use that. So my husband and I hardly get to go out for date night every. Maybe twice a year....and of course the one time we CAN (Saturday night) we were so disappointed that Texas Roadhouse was almost a 2 hr wait! Mind you we only have a 3 hour time frame. Soooo, we decided to grab Miguel's and dine in despite it not being a "restaurant" served atmosphere like we had hoped for but our evening was still amazing and we were surprised with what we got. Plus, we were greeted by an employee named Tomo who even went table to table asking everyone and anyone how their food and night was going and if there was anything he could get for you. We have never experienced this at any other location! This truly stands out. Their customer service was amazing and deserves to be recognized. *So amazing that when I ordered my burrito and asked for certain toppings to not be added Tomo was so pleased to ask if I would like extra guacamole on it instead. I've actually been REALLY disappointed in this location lately. I always get their famous garbage burrito. Considering they used to be the size of a chipotle burrito, I felt they were a good value. Now I would describe their burritos, as more of a joke. They have gotten noticeably smaller and I feel lucky when I find any sour cream or 'guacamole' sauce on my burrito. Customer service is lacking, expect to be treated with a scowl when you ask for something. I can understand the new pressures and modifications to operations due to Covid, but my experience last night was ridiculous and cannot he blamed on the pandemic. We went through the drive-thru and at one point we were sitting for more than 15 minutes and did not move. It took over 30 minutes to get to the speaker where you order and we were only 30 feet away, there was maybe about 8-10 cars in front of us up to the window where you pay. The entire order was wrong when we got home. The taquitos dinner had no taquitos, only rice and beans. How do you forget the main part? The garbage burrito was ordered with no sour cream and tomatoes, guess what? It had sour cream and tomatoes. The chile relleno burrito was ordered with no beans and add potatoes, yes, it had beans and there was no potatoes, which is an additional charge that I paid for. The side of 3 taquitos was not in the bag and that meant someone didn't get to eat. This is unacceptable, and a clear disregard to paying attention to each order and detail. I called to complain and the mousey voiced person who answered almost annoyed me worse, her only response to each complaint was "Ok?" in this high pitched tone. I paid over $31 for an order that was either completely wrong or for items not in the bag. This is a serious training issue for the employees and they need a system so that a second set of eyes ensures each order is accurate. From reading similar complaints, it's obvious the owners just don't care and only want to lean on the business name to make money and throw customer service out the window, knowing people will still eat there because of that name. Reminds me of the the Joe Pesci line, "You always get fu#%=@ in the drive-thru." Well, this is the place that will take your money and then jack your order up without a care in the world. In response to the owner, curbside was the same. Looked like those food delivery people and customers standing around and appeared to be just as frustrated because of the long wait. Absolute nightmare . Let me start my review from the moment I pulled into the drive- thru. "What can I get you?!" Is how I was greeted. I proceeded . Garbage burrito with no tomoato , sour cream a order of Jr. Nachos a side of rice and beans . After every item I ordered the order taker asked "is that all"? "Is that all"? Towards the end of ordering my partner decided to add potato to his burrito , so I told her to add to burrito in which she replies "anything else" I repeated this request to be sure she got it and again "anything else?" After all that rudeness got home and was missing the burrito , called and spoke to Yatzury Gallardo which I later find out was my order taker and the manager . She made me bring all food back because I asked for them to replace entire order so I could eat my food hot with my partner . Most places would allow you to keep food and just replace for the inconvenience. Nope not here . Yatzury Gallardo said, and I quote "I'm not making you another nachos if you ate the one you have." Wow!!! So there I go from canyon lake back to Menifee . Once I get there no apology until very end and a lovely $2 off coupon on my next visit . For a min. I thought I may be on the Hidden camera show "punked" and someone was going to pop out with a camera and yell JUST KIDDING!!!! Nope not in this case , it was all for real. I should of learned my lesson I guess as I visited this location before and they forgot meat in my burrito in which again felt with the rude Yatzury Gallardo and all she did was replace burrito. This place needs to learn customer service and making the customer happy. I will never step foot back into this location. And I will advise all people I come I contact with to stay away. This place is a step above taco bell. I love mexican food, mexican american food, anything Mexican and I am down. This is for sure for more of a European pallet but their Garbage burrito is awesome. It has Refried beans, Spanish rice, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fresh homemade creamy guacamole, sour cream & choice of meat Shredded Chicken/Chile Verde Pork/ Shredded Beef or Carne Asada. I've done it with the Chicken and Chile verde pork and the Chili Verde is the one to get. Their quesadilla taste just like the one from Baker's fast food.
